I have been trying to use my XDA II as a modem and every time I try it give me a error. Error 692 Hardware Failure..

I stopped trying via IRDA and set it up via the USB Sync cable, using GPRS. Works like a charm.
I was going cross-eyed trying to make it work and it wouldn't. Took about 15 minutes with the cable.
Is not working with the USB cable either
I had followed the instruction on PPC website (which seems identical to those on the XDA II official website):

Did you successfully install the HTC USB Modem?
Was ActiveSync closed down, as it must be?
Did you use the USB Dialler program to make the connection?
Did it show the HTC USB Modem?
Was GPRS connected on the XDA?
Did you enter the correct User ID and Password?
A friend of mine tells me they're not necessary, as it works off your IMEI code, I've never tried it without them.

More than that: I disable USB a mean for active Sync to connect to the device, both on the PC and on the PPC

Please Help!! My head is about to explode!
I have upgraded my SPV M1000 with w2003 se Chinese version, which works well no problems with that. However, I Have Widcomm version 1.5.0 build 0801, now I can activesync to any of my PC also Pan network works fine.
My problem is I cannot connect my notebook to the SPV and use the GPRS modem.
I have seen that I have to put a extra command in at+cgdcont=1,”ip”,”orangenet”,””,0,0
When I try to connect it say hardware failure 692 connect though.
If I leave the command out it say’s it connects to orange username and password ok then disconnects me saying PPP error.
Can anyone help

Hi everybody!
Since a few days I have my new Qtek S200 with Windows Mobile 5.0. The problem is that I can't connect it to my desk computer. I downloaded the ActiveSync 4.1 from the "Getting started" CD and tryed to connect my Qtek via USB cabel. The computer sees my device and says that is working correctly. The programs from CD are downloaded correctly (I preinstalled them a couple of times). When I start the connection it says that every port is working correctly (included USB) but the device was not detected!. I use Windows XP with 2 Pack, firewall Kerio Personal 4 and antivirus Avast 4.7 Home Edition.
I really don't know what should I do to connect correctly my device.
Please, help me giving some ideas, maybe you had the same problems and you could share with me your experiences!

I found the problem!! It was a firewall that was blocking the connection. After disabling the firewall everythink is functioning without problems!

I disabled everything possible and still my Prophet does not want to connect through the USB cable after the first time.
What drives me crazy is that the first time it works ok and fast.

Where can I find a list of AT modem commands for the HTC Wizard (a.k.a. Qtek 9100) ?
I would like to retrieve the cellid. The command "AT+CREG" returns "ERROR". I have found a list for HTC Hermes on this website, but they don't seem to be compatible.

AT commands are standard, should be the same in all devices.
Make sure you are registered to the GSM network before you run AT+CREG.
This sequence should work on wizard too:
Code:
AT+CFUN=1
AT+CPIN=1234 <---- replace 1234 with your SIM PIN code
AT+CREG=2

I tried it, doesn't work.
When I send "AT (enter)" I get an "OK" back.
When "AT+CFUN=1 (enter)" I get an "ERROR" back.
This is my test setup:
- on my windows xp notebook I run a program http://www.ircomm2k.de/ which connects my infrared (irda) port to COM8
- using Hyperterminal I connect to COM8 to manually type AT commands
- on my mobile device XDA Wizard (Qtek 9100) I use the program "Modem link" to connect "IrCOMM" (the infrared port) to the modem
My mobile device is connected to the GSM network. I can even send AT commands to call a number, that works.

Hi all,
I have recently downloaded the Blackberry software and installed in on my SPV M3100. It gives me a PIN and IMEI, but when I log onto www.blackberry.orange.co.uk and try to create a new account, it gives me an "unknown error"......
Anyone had this working or know why it wont work?
