for some reason windows live email and yahoo go email won't work. the email will sync fine but when I try to open up an email via yahoo go it just comes up with a blank white box. the same thing happens when I try to create an email to send via windows live. pop email works fine though. at first I thought it was just yahoo go but its happening in wml also. has anyone been experiencing this also?

i'm having the same issue with gmail.
it managed to download one of the messages and the picture but it won't send or recieve any others.

this is what i see
mine has all of the messages listed and i try to connect and it says "checking header 2 of 26" and has a progress bar next to it.
it only has one downloaded and i can save the picture from it and everything but it wont connect and download the others.

yes i fixed it. i deleted it. i'm just gonna wait until yahoo go gamma is released for windows mobile. i understand there is a memory leak problem in yahoo go for wm.
i just hope they didnt abort the wm version. i haven't heard any news about it in a while.

probably a really simplw question but how do I get the attachments from my emails?
I have been using my wifi when out and about to receive my emails. I get the mails no problem but theres no way I can see to get the attachments. the little attachments symbol is next to em but don't know how to get em

Anyway, I tried opening at attachment on one of my emails. Just clicked the link at the bottom of the email to get the full msg + attachments, it said it would get it next time I checked my mail. Since the phone happened to already be checking I waited a bit, and now I'm looking at a .doc file I sent to my school. It's displayed at the top of the email and when I tap it, it opens in word mobile.
So I'm not sure what's not working for you, but maybe this helps?

Ahh... can't help you there then, I don't use hotmail, only gmail (through pop3 access).
no problem mate. thers gotta be a way to view the attachments on hotmail accounts when getting via the xda outlook.

I have recently installed the Windows Live Mobile, it was working perfectly but now it seems that there is a problem with the 'synchronise'.
When I click the synchronise option, the email can be synchronised, but not the Contacts & Email. It always fails. also, when you open the Messenger, it always no contacts online, but actually there are.
Anyone has any ideas of this?

The online contacts appear after ~ 10-20 sec. As for the sync, I do not know.
I have the same email sync problem. I figured it's because my perticipation is still pending for the offical beta enrolment. I downloaded the file from another source so I thought it maybe there server seeing that I'm not part of the beta program yet. Are you part of the beta program or did you do like me and get it from the forums?
My only compaint about this version is they still didn't fix the issue that when you sign in to messenger the first time it adds all your MSN Messenger contacts to your address book, which they are already there so now there are duplicates. I have there full contact card with all there details and now a second one that just has there email and messenger name. It should be smart enough to see that that email addresss and IM name already exist in my address book and link to it instead of creating another one.

I don't like how WLM mobile takes all your messenger contacts and automatically puts them into your 'contacts' on the phone, which ends up in my contacts folder in Outlook. That's horrible, I don't want the two mixed up and now I have no choice, mix them up, or don't use it?
Go delete them from my contacts folder in outlook, that deletes them from my messenger contacts as well!!
Pocket MSN never forced your messenger contacts to be placed or synced into your 'contacts'.

My messenger contacts suddenly appeared as offline. Strange. No reboot or relogon could fix it. They could IM me but I could not contact them. I suspect that this has to do with the beta, maybe they simply block old betas to force the legitimate beta testers to use the latest version.

Doubt you'll hear anything from them, I registered a few months ago and for some reason their registration system was TOTALLY cocked up, so I ended up with a mangled registration and they point blank refused to offer me any useful help.
So now I can log into MS Connect, but I can't see the right live beta tests to join them properly... It sucks. Guess I'll just have to wait on this one.

I'm running the leaked version of the Cingular rom and while I know this isn't final I was kinda hoping that some things would get fixed. One of them being the missing email problem.
After a few hours receiving a email it just disappears into thin air!!!!! and yes I have it set to always show emails no matter how old they are..
Where are my emails going? I want to keep ALL my emails until I decide to delete them..
Anyone got any suggestions? I have tried everything and nothing works..

In order to help, we need to know what pop account you are using... for instance, I had this problem with Gmail messages disappearing after a couple of hours to a day... found out that there is a non published setting that appears when using the phone's auto config feature... Let me explain...
when setting up the pop3 account for gmail, the settings are as included on their website... problem is that I have my outlook connected at home and constantly checking messages, and is configured to leave messages on server.... But with the other machine pulling the messages, for some reason they disappear on my TyTN even though I have it set to grab messages for the last 7 days...
what the auto config feature has done was to add "recent:" without the quotes in front of my account name, so it reads "recent:[email protected]"... Once that was done, my messages stopped automatically disappearing... Try it, what do you have to lose that you haven't lost already...

The first setup I edited out the "recent" and had the disappearing mail problem - I deleted that email account and ran the setup again leaving the "recent:" text in and bingo my Gmail works as it should on my P3600i.

PS. The only bug now is that the mail that I sent also appears in the Inbox - is there a way to correct this?
Ever since i updated to the new 1.66 ROM i have been unable to sync my hd2 with hotmail. everytime i tried to set up a new email acct using 'mail' tab on home screen, they simply open up my browser and send me to the hotmail site.
using the window live app gives me the same problem. With the old 1.48 i'm able to sync email with my hotmail acct directly thru the 'mail' tab on the home screen w/o opening the browser. anyone else experiencing this problem?

I'm having the same issue, except on ROM 1.48 (still waiting for ROM 1.66 in South Africa!) So perhaps not ROM specific related! Maybe a hotfix somehow changed this. I am running the SMS Update of 24/01/2010 which seems to have fixed the SMS stuck in Outbox issue.
I have updated to 1.66 and set up hotmail perfectly OK through the windows live app. It syncs every 30 minutes with no issues so far. Perhaps you have some other applications causing a conflict?

have the same problem, i have to setup manually
enter a non valid hotmail acc first, eg. [email protected]
then setup the rest manually, do not download mails at end of setup (it will fail anyway since it's not a valid acc).
upon setup finish, go back to your account settings & enter the correct hotmail acc, eg. [email protected]. then download mails
1 thing strange is that it scan thru all your emails in your hotmail acc, which takes rather long time even though i set it for 7 days emails.

Yeah, I have noticed the same. Might have been some serverside changes or something at Microsoft, since it seems to be running fine now
same problems here. Just done a hard reset and still no joy. Going to flash another rom and see if the problem goes away
flashed another new rom and also a old rom that I know works and it still won't connect to live services.
It'll ask for user name / password, and then start doing it's stuff - d/ling contacts, inbox, folders - but this will take around 10 minuted for it to complete.
It'll then come up with an sync error and go back to the main page. Looking at sync status though it shows it as successful.
Hopefully it'll all be working again tomorrow as it does seem to be a problem at microsofts side
