Not sure if it's the phone or the car but here goes....
I have a Cingular 8525/HTC TyTn with the jetware bluetooth software to allow the battery and signal to show on the HandsFreeLink on my 2005 Acura TL.
When the car is off, and I am home, if I go out to the garage and try to make a phone call near the car, it is connected to BT and I have to wait for the call to go through, hit menu and disable handsfree in the phone.
Also, when I answer calls, the HFL beeps at me twice, the answer beep and end beep, but the call connects fine.
Thirdly, the phone and car will randomly disconnect mid call and I will have to dig my phone out from the holster as the call is transferred from the car to the handset. Afterwards, the car will not recognize the phone, and I have to shut the car off and restart it for the phone to be recognized.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
John
bump....please? Anyone?
if your phone connects to the BT carkit even though the car is off, it sounds as wiring problems in carkit, should have an ignition sense that switches the thing off, when car is not in use....the repairing problem confirms this...try an autoelectrician or qualified installer....
well, it's factory installed in all acuras, never had a problem like this with my razr, only this phone....

Wondering if anyone has had this problem. I haven't pinned a time down yet. I use a motorola car kit. It will disconnect and end the call for no reason. Is there a timer to auto disconnect in the bluetooth stack? Any help is appreciated.
approx 4minutes or less
I was having a problem w/mda and bluetooth and sometimes without bluetooth, in that the entire network would just drop when the call gets close to 4 minutes.... I called tmo about it and they simply gave up and said maybe its the phone...so they sent me a replacement mda, used it today during one call and couldn't believe that the call lasted longer than an hour...
Mine is only with bluetooth. I guess a little more info is needed. If I hit the voice dial button on my car kit I get the voice command tone. I have also used bluetooth to play music over the car kit with the voice command controls(just for fun, horrible quality). It will disconnect while it's playing music no call involved. I have a feeling it's the bluetooth connection timing out but I'm not sure. It's frustrating.
so its not happening during phone calls???
see there might be a bluetooth timeout that tmo doesn't know about...I have to use bluetooth and it seems like every 4min or less it blanks out everything and sometimes I even have to re pair the two devices.... I would try making calls and using the bluetooth w/o car kit...mine did some of the samethings like streaming music thru bt headseat and it would blankout with that also even when not on a call..
Car Kit Not Staying Paired???
I guess I wasn't clear. It happens in both situations. I think i have to re-pair after as well. As far as I know it doesn't stay paired. When a call comes in I usually have to wait about 2 rings before it rings through the car kit. Also when I make a call by hitting the voice dial button on the car kit the blue light blinks for about 2 seconds then I get the voice command sound. I assume that the blinking is it re-pairing. I guess I need info on how to keep it paired.
Anyone? I have found that time dosen't seem to be a issue as it has done it a 1min 43 seconds and 2 mins 38 seconds.

Try turning on the bluetooth first while your phone is off. Once the bluetooth is on, then turn on your cell phone. I tried many times in frustration why it is saying "phone is disconnected" looking for problems. Then it works now and even the phone book in my Nokia and Garmin GPS. Hope it helps you too.
Turn on bluetooth device first while the cell phone is off. Once bluetooth is on, then turn on the latter. Hope it works. Do it everytime you use bluetooth device in your car.
So lately, after a hard reset and reinstalling all my apps/registry tweaks/programs, I have noticed that sometimes after getting out of my car, 05 Acura TL, the phone fails to disconnect from my car. I have been out of the car as long as 4 hours and any calls still show the headset icon in the phone application....
I need help please. It's driving me nuts.
I think that it just means that the BT radio stays on, not that it's still connected to your car. The BT radio does not automatically power off if not connected to a device. For instance, if I leave my phone where it has signal and forget to grab it on my way out to my truck for parts, the radio stays on but the link to the headset drops. I can answer the phone normally or press the BT headset to reestablish the link.
HTH
see, that is the problem. The radio is still on, and that is fine. I leave the radio on to recognize my car as soon as I start it and begin to drive. Now, however, it will not drop the actual signal from the car....it still wants to use BT so I can not hear anyone and have to hit menu while in the call and then click use handset. Very inconvenient and a new problem...never happend before.
I just bought a Jaguar XK that has bluetooth. When I pair and dock the first time with the car, the phone and car see and work together just fine. But the problem comes in when I leave and then return to the car. The car sees the phone, but if I try to place a call, the car says dialing, but the phone does not call. To stop the car from dialing, I have to reboot the phone. If a call comes in, it goes straight to the phone and does not get to the car. If I delete both connections and do the whole pairing process again, it works just the first time.
Is there something in the 8125 that needs to be upgraded? I saw on this site the A2DP download and one that is VCBTFixer.exe, but I am not sure if they will they will help the problem or not.
Any advice is much appreciated!
..... unless I manually turn off Bluetooth on the Mogul, or turn off my visor-mounted Supertooth BlueAnt 3. If I walk away, even 100 ft., and a call comes in, it's silent in the speaker, and no way to get it back until I re-boot. However, it re-connects to the BlueAnt when I get back in the car. So to have a working phone when I leave the car, I MUST disconnect it while they are still in range, or shut the Supertooth off before leaving the car.
Anyone else have a similar problem with any bluetooth device?
I'm having much fun with my new Legend, and I love android 2.1!
Everythings goes smooth except the connection with my car.
I have a pretty new Audi TT from 2008, and with my old phone (t-mobile G1), I used it without a problem for over a year.
One month ago I bought the Legend, and bluetooth connection to the car seems to hang!, Even when I disable bluetooth, the phone becomes slow, and the bluetooth icoon keeps displaying in my notification erea.
One thing works, when I reset the phone, I can use the carkit for about 10 minutes, then it starts to disconnect. The adress book never syncs.
Can people please reply if they got their legend work properly with their bluetooth car kit.
Also when other people have problems, please reply here!
Thnx
I have a mini cooper S with BT car kit.
The connection is good and all the contats are correctly transferred but sometimes the connection has been lost.
It seems it happens during the net switch (between UMTS/GSM).
Same problem here. Kenwood DDX7029 with BT. 5 out of 10 times the phone won't connect when starting the car. Dis- and enabling BT does the trick.

This implies that if you disable data-roaming, it would work all the time?, I'm gonna try that out! Thanks for your reply!
Hi there. My first post in XDA
So cool that I found this thread because I have the exact same problem. I have an Audi A3 and the bluetooth connection is 9 out of 10 times lost during conversations and then the bluetooth icon just hangs until I boot the phone.
I'm gonna try to disable the data-roaming and see whether it works.
Still problem carkit/bluetooth Legend!!
Hi all,
I still/also experience problems with my Audi A4 carkit.
Also my colleague with a Opel Insignia experiencing the same problems.
I have to reset the bluetooth or reboot the phone te fix it
It is very annoying when you loose the bluetooth connection within a call.
I have already sent a message to HTC...and still waiting!
Switching off the data roaming or fix the UMTS/GSM settings doesn't help
Somebody a sollution?

Audi UHV 6654 problems
I have a BIG problem with this car kit connection...BIG means the device is useless till now.
I've paired the Legend with my A4 factory car kit and there are several problems:
1. No sounds come from the speakers (car speakers), still the michrophone is working fine. I had to put the phone on loudspeaker to hear something but of course this is not the normal way of using a car kit
2. There is no sound till the call is actually ongoing (the other party respond)...that means no ringing, busy tone, or whatsoever sound... I don't even know if the call is made if I'm not looking to the phone (and if it's entering power saving mode, I stare at a blank screen).
I don't have any problems of this kind using a Nokia phone and also they (especially point 2) are happening with all smartphones I've tried (WinMo or Android ones).
Is there any software (even a paid one) to outcome this?
Please don't tell me to "try" this and that, I don't want to spend money "trying" things...I would appreciate if someone had a similar problem and managed to solve it somehow.
P.S The phone is brand new (got it for 2 days by now) and it is not rooted.
P.S.2 The car kit is a "basic" one, don't have navigation, contacts downloading and all that stuff...It's a plain BT car kit, I would just like to be able to make and receive phone calls with it.
Seems like many have bad experience in making the legend and car kit work together.
As of yet I could only pair my legend with my blaupunkt audio system, but they have not yet connected each other successfully to make use of the bluetooth feature. I've had no problem at all using my audio set with my samsung galaxy spica's bluetooth. So it probably is not an android issue.
Is there anyone who didn't experience any such trouble with their legend and car audio system's bluetooth ?
To add some more details...
I search for BT devices, phone finds the Audi UHV car kit. Then I'm asked for the pairing password and I enter it, than I get that "connection sound" from the car speakers but the phone is still "connecting..." endlessly. The BT icon on the phone appears but is the standard one, no headset or car kit icon appears (does it have such an icon after all?)
From here...nothing special happens. When I make or receive a call only the phone is ringing, no sounds came from the car speakers. Only when the call is connected, then I have the bord computer showing "Call..." and the radio/CD is muted...and that's all. The conversation can be heard only into the phone not from car speakers as it was the case with the ringing tone before. When call ends, music resumes.
