I don't know what made the sound defect in my Atom. Will Skype effect it? I guess, after installing Skype, I got disturbance in my music, screen tap, etc. The sound was like hiss.. and while playing music, it couldn't run other programs easily. Finally, I solved the problem after hard reset. But I want to know the cause that I don't wan't to hard reset frequently. Will anybody help me?

Hi there,
i'm stuck now with a very strange problem.
I was playing with the A2DP patch when i discovered that my prophet is making noise in the built in speaker when i'm receiveing or making calls.
After 2 hard resets (the Clean Data and the Camera/Comm buttons + reset methods), it's still the same. I can't use the phone as a phone!
Also same with headphones. It sounds like the volume is way too high. Almost unintelligible.
Only in Bluetooth it works correctly.
Any ideas?
It is a O2 XDA flashed with French QTEK S200 ROM, so of course waranty is gone

Nobody had the same issue with his Prophet?
After some investigation, i came up with the idea that it was because i was using Wireless Stereo with an A2DP device, but it suddenly came back, and even with Bluetooth disables/devices deleted/unregistered from the phone, it's still the same.
I don't know what to do. I'm forced to use my Bluetooth headset to use my phone :?
I didn't try yet Hard Resetting my device, but the other day, when i wrote the previous post, it didn't help.
So, You, who are reading this, please give me some advices

i have the problem in the other one, in the normal use the sound is sooooooo extrem loud. in the bluetooth mode works it perfekt.

Well, it depends how you see (hear) the issue.
I call this noise, but in fact it seems that the sound is pushed to the max. I can hardly understand the words people say to me through the built in speaker.
Maybe we have the same issue, but i call it "noise" and you say "extremely loud".
Do i understand well that you're living with this?
Did you also played with A2DP patch? Or is the origin of your issue different?
Personnally, i'd like to find a solution.

in this moment i use only bluetooth for all calls. but this ist not really a final solution.

I have a problem with my HD2. I am not able to hear anything during call or my voice mails. But the loudspeaker is working fine. Also if I use head phones, I can hear fine.
Before you start jumping into the build and radios and etc etc, let me tell you this. I got this problem when I did not even know about flashing android on the HD2. But this problems goes away after 15-20 mins after restarting the phone. But this time it is not going from last 2 days, which is frustrating.
Anyone has any solution to my problem, please share it.

Hey Thanks for the advice. But it doesn't work. I had tried this method earlier. But still I gave it another shot. The problem is I do not have any sound at all, not low in call volume...
Ok, did not realise you had no sound. I'm wondering if it is not a hardware problem then. If you can hear via headphones and the rear speaker works, then it is probably the front speaker that is a problem. I'd reflash to winmo stock and take the device in for a warranty claim.

Same problem here, still experimenting with overclocking but problem persists. Seems not enough hardware power anyway... Strange, either overclocking not working or 768 MHz is still not enough for Skype to work???

i was afraid of this how to explain this to my mum she got this phone just for that now i have to give her my iphone 4 cause on iphone works better than on my pc

I think that there is some kind of incompatibility with proximity sensor and skype in wildfire. Just try to use the headset, with rom overclocked at 730mhz and it should work.
You can also try to wait the sound to normalize after putting the phone in your ear (mine takes something like 5-10s) or use speakervoice. Try it and let us know if it worked.
ok i will try with the headsets but with the o.c i cant cause its not my phone to root it and for the waiting i waited like minut or more but its not getting better
Tried skype on my wildfire over wifi, could barely hear the person on the other phone(which was on the same wifi)
So you say I must use headset to get decent audio?
same problem here tried today with my genius headset and the problem here is that the audio does not come from the headset but from the phone....but the wierd thing is that it does that only on skype.Youtube and music sound comre from the headset anyone tried with a custom rom or another version of skype? how does it work for you?

So I got a problem - I can't hear a thing while calling/receiving calls and the other side of the line can't hear what I'm saying as well. The phone was taken care of and didn't crash, so that was unexpected. Feels like a software problem, because both mics don't work. Other than that the phone is functioning properly, music is playing etc.
Did anybody have such a problem or anybody suspects where the problem is?

Try flashing latest radio and bootloader.

Yep. You definitely need to update the baseband radio.
