Mugen Power 3000 mah extended battery & accessory compatibility: what works, what doesn't...
Will the SEIDIO holster designed to fit their slim case work? How well?
What cradles / docks will work? How well?
What cases / skins will work? How well?
What car kits will work? How well?
all good questions, go buy it all and let us know
ill have my 3000mah next week, but i dont have any of this other stuff to test it with.. i will get some side by side shots though of a tilt with a standard battery and with the 3000mah..
I got my 3000mah a few days ago. It's a bit thicker and heavier, but it is a 3000mah battery. I'm using the att leather holster, and it fits well. Not snug or loose, just right.
Power-wise, I fully charge at 8 in the morning, and I still have an hout left at 8 at night. I'm getting a good 12 hours, got 14 hours yesterday. Recharges pretty fast.
Great if there was a 24 hr battery, but this gives me 2-3 times the life of the oem.

i hate to sound thick, but... is this battery for the kaiser?

Would any Mugen 3000mah extended battery owners be interested in doing a review on it?

I do not think Current Seidio holster, rubberized case will work with this battery because it is considerably thicker than OEM battery.
Seidio plans to release a super extended battery. Seidio will aslo plan to release a rubberized case and the matching holster that work with Seidio super extended battery

and look at the ebay link I'd posted above !!
I Got Pics! Mugen & Aftermarket
I bought and tested an aftermarket and just recieved my mugen battery today. Here are some pics
Great Battery !
I too have the mugen 3000mah with full extended cover -- As a reference, the back cover is almost exactly the same size as the front cover with the ridged band in between. It is obviously thicker but I actually like the way it feels in my hand. The extended cover is a shiny black plastic -- not like the 'rubberized' stock cover. I still have not run out of power after 2 days use but Idon't use push email and do not always have bluetooth on. All in all I must say I am pleased with it and am trying out a few different car mounts etc. and will report back!
I also have the sandisk 8 GB and still have 2 gb room after installing IGO, Iguidance 4.0, and a TON of other stuff... Mp3's etc. As an aside, both IGO and IG installed and run great an a stock ATT rom as I have not flashed yet.
Hey how much did it cost and did the cover come included
has the mugen cover any protection for the camera lens?, or is it a simply hole?

The existing innodocks will fit this new super-extended battery per Calvin at seidioonline.com.
I'm listening to shoutcast a lot by using HSDPA (though not actually using HSDPA speeds) with Pocket player but I'm having power problems. The battery usually only lasts the trip to work (1hour) and then maybe 2 hours more. I'm very mobile in my work (furnishing carpenter) and I want my phone on me while I work. That's why I can't let it be connected to the power outlet while at work. I currently have the Seidio 1600mAh battery and the PDAir hardcase.
That's why I've been looking at the Mugen 3000mAh battery and rubberized case which let's you slide the phone without removing, from a store on eBay.
Case: http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-BLACK-HARD-...photoQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262
Battery: http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-EXTENDED-BA...photoQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262
Will this work?
Thanks.
The 3000mAh battery requires an extended battery cover, which makes the phone thicker. So that case will not work with the rubberized battery; at least the back of it won't. The front probably would still fit.
Yes I was expecting that but I thought that at lower part of the case would cover half of the lower part of the phone. In that case at least most of the phone is covered. But is there no case that will perfectly fit together with the 3000mAh battery with a belt clip preferably a hard or rubberized case?
edit: What are my options really for a better battery life? Portable charger?
i've got the seidio and unfortunately it seems these type of cases 'snap on' to the phone through tabs. so they must be deep enough or it just won't stay on.
i also have a capdase leather case, which has some sort of shallow tray that fits tightly around the bottom of the stock phone (no plastic). i had hoped to use this with the mugen, but the mugen's replacement case tapers in so it won't fit in the capdase case.... so right now if i use the mugen 3000mah, i just take the phone around 'naked'.
i've been pondering the possibility of one of those cases with the half plastic thing that goes over the keyboard will work... the mugen case makes the phone about 1-2mm thicker. but then again, i'm not keen to buy yet another case for the thing.
That's interesting. 1-2mm thicker isn't that much really. But looking at the Capdase leather and the Nakedcellphone's plastic case pictures it seems It was specially made for the standard hatch+battery. I guess the same applies for the Seidio one.
I have an old Axim X50V with an extended battery and a PDAir alu hard case so it shouldn't be impossible to make one for the Kaiser.
Have you checked if the phone with the Mugen battery works with the OEM leather case?
Thanks.
edit: I think I meant the standard leather case.
so far ??? only one will do with the Mugen 3000mAh ...
Kaiser stock case

Unfortunately, the at&t version doesn't come with a case at all. Where can I find the Kaiser stock case? I couldn't find anything on HTC's website.
Thanks,

If we are thinking about the same Kaiser stock case (the horizontal one in leather) then I have tried this one and it isn't optimal. The phone is simply to tightly squeezed inside the case.
Actually I bought a case from the same shop on Ebay that sold the Mugen battery (Nakedcellphone) and it fits perfectly with enough room for ventilation but the sides of the clip are starting to fall off for some reason so I've put that one away. The best option for me would be a hard case probably by PDAir but I can't find one. The problem with these belt cases is that whenever you want to use your phone It's unprotected.
At the moment I'm simply using a thick textile bag for it. I also have the phone around the neck with a necklace. It works ok but I would really like a rubberized or a hard case.

I seem to remember seeing it on bestbuy business. Otherwise try ebay.
I think this is one actually. Looks like this but with HTC logo on the front.

Well it looks like the back battery cover is the first to get scuffed even if you take care of the phone otherwise.
Anyone know of a good place to buy a cheap OEM quality battery cover? I have the Sprint Touch Pro but it would be cool to get a different cover if possible.
This is a link to a site that sells extended batteries with covers to accept the larger batteries. You can get a bigger battery and a new cover...David.

I am getting ready to order the 2000mah seidio extended battery for my sprint touch pro. I currently have one of the monaco aluminum cases. Does anyone know of a case other than the horizontal cases that will work with the touch pro with this battery installed? I have found a vertical case by body glove that it will fit in but that is not my first choice. Does anyone know if the leather flip or the leather book style case will work with this battery installed?
I'll give you $5 for your aluminum case...sorry I cannot help with your question.
The only other thing I could tell you is that someone posted a link to a battery that has more "mah" but is the same size as the original battery. Meaning you wouldn't need a new case.
Unfortunately I have that battery already. It is the 1500mah battery and I still can't make it completely through the day with ti.
I bought this 2400mAh battery. Good battery, phone lasts long but the replacement door is very bad. It broke almost instantly, the small hooks came of and I then glued it to the phone.
I am thinking of the Mugens 3600mAh battery but I have not found any reliable information on the replacement door and whether it easily breaks.
Could some moderator be so kind to move this question to the forum "G2 and Desire Z Accessories"?
TIA!
