Usb to mini jack

Hi,
I just got an usb to mini jack cable but when i play audio it plays via the speaker and not the headphones.
is the cable not supported or do i need to change a setting somewhere
If i use the headphones that were with the phone they work.
But not my new usb to mini jack with my own headphones.
I also have a bleutooth unit but this uses mini-mini jack, and i twas supplied with a headphone inc Mic, the normal adapters for mini-mini jack to mini jack will enable the Mic all the time and can't play stereo, is there a solution for this?
I was already thinking about using tape or something
(the plug for headphones + mic is divided in 3 parts and a normal plug is divided in 2 parts)
thanks for any advise

3.5mm USB Adapter - No Sound From Headphones

I recently picked up a set of earbuds and a 3.5mm adapter for my Tilt and have not been able to get the sound to play through the headphones... Is this a radio version issue? I'm a bit new to all this. I flashed my phone to the most recent ROM from HTC, installed the keyboard fix and that's about it. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
JM
try flashing another radio...this is usually the culprit with no sounds...
I had this problem. When I plugged in the headphones, sound still came out of the phone speaker. It turned out one of the pins in the usb port was bent. If you get sound from the speaker with them plugged in, that could be your problem.
from my understandings...
There are 2 types of mini usb 3.5 mm headphone jacks. one that pulls form the top row on the mini usb port and one that pulls from the bottom row on the mini usb port. One works with the tilt, the other will not. More than likely you got the one that will not work with the tilt.

The sound comes through the external speaker just fine, I also tried ALL the radios and nothing helped. There are no bent contacts so I guess it is probably that I got the adapter that will not work with the tilt. Does anyone know of a specific manufacturer that makes one that does work with the tilt? I picked this one up off ebay for about .50 cents, no idea who makes it.
I had one adapter with gold plated on the 3.5mm headphone side, the connection to USB was bad. I had to hold it down for it to work properly. I have since bought another one (with L shape USB connector), it works perfectly. Either you need to juggle it to see if it's a connector issue or you simply got the wrong type of adapter.
What kind of adapter is it?
I bought a "OEM" adapter from a website selling Tilt accessories, and it works fine. However, when I picked up a Motorola headphone kit with a USB adapter, it did not work, and the sound would only come out of the speaker.
The Moto compatible adapters do not work. HTC specific adapters are fine. They are also available in 2.5mm if you want to use a cell headset with it instead of bluetooth.
The Kaiser requires an 11 pin usb adapter......I believe the Razr uses a 7 pin? if im correct. That is why you dont have sound....
A cheaper way, ie: FREE! is to make one yourself out of the cheap pair that came with the kaiser!
see this: http://www.tracyandmatt.co.uk/blogs/index.php/2006/08/18/orange_spv_m3100_headphone_adapter_hack
its for the TyTN 1, but it still works for the Kaiser, its also very fun and great to show off to people
I use a mini-USB adaptor (3.5 mm) from Boxwave and it works great with my Shure SE 110 earphones! The adaptor was around $12.00.
Internal Microphone
When I plug my heaphones in, it seems that the internal microphone (on the phone) is disabled.
Is it possible to hear the sound through the headphones and talk through the phone?
I hate having to unplug the headphones every time someone calls me.

USB Port for Sound and Answer/End Call?

Hiya,
You'll all probably know that on the TouchPro, the HTC mini-USB jack allows headphones to be connected (via adaptor), as well as a 'remote' which answers/ends calls...
...which is excellent, because I was able to develop my own wired connection to my CK-7W car kit.
I would like to do the same for my SEX1, particularly given the unreliable nature of the bluetooth.
Q: Is the mini-USB port configurable to give audio-out, and potentially answer/end calls?
Kind regards,
Oms.

It should be, you can get usb headphones, with a talkbutton, that use a standard mini usb fitting.
the audio for the X1 goes to the 3.5mm jack? There is an answer button on the supplied cable.
I thought the USB port was only for USB and power - am I wrong?
I'm not sure most HTC phone have audio out by USB and Mobile fun has
HTC Multifunction Audio Cable YC A200
HTC TyTN/MDA Vario II 3-in-1 USB Adapter
HTC Multifunction Audio Cable YC A300
in the X1 area,
but can't find anything on the net saying it will work
I really want it to work so i only need to plug one cable in when its in the car phone and audio.
I would love to know if some one has tried them.
I'll let you knoe if i get one
I tried it with my Moto L7 USB headset. Nothing happens.
Sorry
I wish it would work too...
htc devices use the extUSB connector and use the extre pins not in normal miniUSB for these features
pins the normal miniUSB connecter the x1 uses don't have so it can't be don
x1 don't support usbHost so the miniUSb connector only have 2 functions
being connected to an usbHost like a computer
and charging no other functionality is possible for a device which
don't support usbHost
Hi Oms,
I've just came across your post about the wired connection you made from Touch Pro to ck-7w. I would like to make a similar setup for my Touch Diamond2. Could you please post your findings on this matter and connections details?

{REQ} Driver for headphones mini USB

Hello Blackstoners !
I have mini usb headphone for my stolen Elf
When I insert it in bottom of Blackstone ,
its says :
"The Device doesn't support the USB headset. Please Remove it "
Have any one stock of drivers of headphones mini usb To htc HD ??
thanks
Due to the 3.5mm jack, the usb port probably no longer supports headphones. You may just mess up the usb port settings by changing the usb drivers.

Maybe it is possible:

MOD EDIT
Thread moved to general discussion as not relevent to this forum
blackstone have a miniusb connector
many other htc devices got extusb which is basicly a miniusb connector but
have 2 conectors on the empty side of the connector which transfer audio
there is no way to connect an extusb headset to a miniusb conntor as
there are no connectors the extusb audio connector can tranfer the autio to
Hello Again ,
I dont think Its Impossible!!
I am think that is 100% possible ...
I think its possible , I will try to contact the co0o0okers and we will see
best regards.
Mohammed Saeed
no it's not
mini usb pint out is
Pin 1 - VBUS
Pin 2 - D-
Pin 3 - D+
Pin 4 - unconnected
Pin 5 - GND
and this is how extUSB pintout is
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=72494&d=1203885397
there are tons of more pins on extusb then miniUSB all of which would connect
to nothing in the phone if one connects an extusb headset
and miniUsb headsets only works with devices which support usb host and is a whole
different thing then extusb only 2 htc devices I know of support usb host and blackstone is not one of them

Mini usb to headphone jack converters

do they work with this phoen? i bought this
http://www.androidians.com/smartphone-experts-mini-usb-stereo-adapter/11A75A2373.htm
i plug it in and no sound comes from the headphones, and i know the headphones work
do i have to mess with settings? any help?
From my knowledge, htc uses special pins inside of their mini usb for listenin g to music. BUT it has been a knowen issue with some ROM's that they have some issues with accessorys. IF your using a stock rom it shouldnt be a issue
