1. i duuno? sorry
hi
for swf, install flash player, and it wont automatically be associated with .sef files, you need to use either Resco explorer or smart explorer to associate .swf files with flash player.
for .gif:
maybe TCPMP will play it (i am not sure) but Resco photo viewer is cute

[DEVELOPMENT STOPPED!]Windows Media Player Mobile skins

For those of you who might be interested in this, here's a classic black HTC branded skin I've adapted for Windows Media Player Mobile.
Cheers!
Installation instructions:
Copy the contents of the archive (all files, includin hidden) to DEVICE\Program Files\Windows Media Player and select it from within options in Windows Media Player.
P.S.: Feedback needed!
thank you A++++++
just what I was looking for !!! -- but can you please post the .skn file as well. I had flashed my rom, so I dont have the default skin at all. your black version does not contain that file.

Got home, checked! I knew I couldn't be a geek like that. Archive contains all files, some of them are hidden and you need to set your OS to show hidden/system files.
Cheers!

I haven't met this issue before but try this:
Back-up everything in your skins folder to your PC, delete everything and put the files from the archive in that folder. It should work.

AlbumArt related
Thought I'd write a few lines regarding AlbumArt, for those who might have problems displaying them.
The easiest way of getting album art to display on you Windows Mobile Media Player is to copy them to your device through Windows Media Player, aka synchronize them.
Files and albums in your PC library have tags and if instructed so, Windows Media Player downloads automattically/manually the album information of these files. This consists of ID tags plus album art. There are four files Windows Media Player downloads as album art: AlbumArt_{xxx}_Large (usually 200x200 px.), AlbumArt_{xxx}_Small (usually 75x75 px.), AlbumArtSmall (usually 75x75 px.) and Folder (usually 200x200 px.). These files are set attribute hidden.
When you sync music files with Windows Media Player to your device, it automatically copies these files to you device and Windows Media Player Mobile displays them.
Now, if you do not wish, for some reason, to have Windows Media Player download this information for you or you have a custom CD cover you'd like to use, it is enough to create a Folder.jpg (200x200 px.) inside your album folder and it will display the album art.
If you wish to manually add albums to your Mobile Device and/or having problems with displaying the album art, you can follow the step described above to create a Folder.jpg with the album art and Windows Media Player Mobile will display it.
Here comes the tricky part. The 200x200 px. album art images are great to be handled by Windows Media Player but they appear jerky on Windows Media Player Mobile. That is because the latter uses another album art image size to display. 200x200 px. album art files will show up, jerky though, but if you'd like to have a neat look of the album art files on your mobile device, resize the images to 154x154 px. (this is the dimension this skin uses) and you will get a neat result like the one attached.
Hope you find this info usefull!
Cheers!

Media Player Touch themed skin!
I've been using the available Touch skin for Windows Media Player (credits for that go to monoberlin) untill I have discovered that while playing videos, they were not displayed right.
So inspired by that theme I have built a skin that has the issue fixed.
Hope you like it!
Skin uses 144x144 px album art for best displaying results in portrait mode and 112x112 px in landscape mode.
Cheers!
P.S.: Feedback needed, as always!
Landscape Also PLEEASE !

Videos display better in portrait mode because it allows larger overlay display. Anyway, I've made the landscape too and updated the archive.

2nd Media Player Touch themed skin!
Here's another one, this time built completely from scratch.
Fixes:
- New, slick, intuitive buttons;
- Smoother interface;
- Larger video overlay size;
- Larger album art display (159x159 px )
Projects:
- Landscape mode for this one is in production so just portrait for now;
Cheers!

[Suggestion] Today Plugin with Album Art

Would this be possible?
Lacking talents in programming I'm unfortunately not able to even try this but
it would be cool to have a music today plugin with album art, kinda like the
attached picture...with the addition of Play, Pause, Next and Previous...
About 150-200 in height...
//Nik
i would liek to see also...Cause if you use UL there is NO good todayplugin to control music!!!
Try the XIA theme
In the latest XIA Diamond multi theme, there is a mort-script based music plugin that works with S2P. It's not the greatest, but it does work with Wisbar Desktop (2) and should work with UL.

S2P basicly works with WMP anyway.
Uses Core files to decode.
S2P homescreen Plugin would kick as any Home plugin only showing the Album Art.
Come on A_C you can do it.

Well almost all the plugin that actually exist does`t show album cover, the one I know is V2R mediaplayer plugin that shows album cover but the size of the art is too small in my opinion and isn´t freeware.
If you want a plugin that shows albumart, for now, you must to use another program for that.
If you decide for V2R, exist a trial version that works fine for undeterminated time, if dont like its graphic with "free version" embedded send me a PM to tell you how I changed.

Actually, V2R is not a half bad program. I agree though that the album art is really small (and I do mean small), but I think it is the closest thing that we will find to cover flow as a Today Plugin (at least until S2P can support it ). the other interesting thing is that even though it isn't freeware, I believe that it is shareware, just a few features disabled.
But remember... V2R supports only Windows Media Player... and I for one won't use it...

There should be a way to mod/hack it so that it will take a different player such as TCPMP or S2P.

How 2 creae playlist

Can any 1 tell how 2 create playlist in my prophet o2xda neo...for long time now i've been going to library and open fileand selecting folder...& if u update library & play.... all media will play so could u help me??
Hi
R U using Windows Media Player or Audio Manager.
AM has better features of course...
WMP
windows media player
Hi,
WMP does not have transparent playlist option.
It has the feature 'now playing' which gives the option to build your own list, but you cannot save it, so I do not use that.
Did you try Audio Manager? It is worth trying out I think.
You can download one here and you can see the application in action here on YouTube
You can create a play list using TCPMP, and then save it as a WM Playist file.
thnx
thank you i will be using that soon...ihave tcpmp installed...thnx again

Some of the formats it can save in are not supported by WMP.
bringing back and old post, but i forgot to backup all my playlists before i hardreset my phone, but is there a faster way to create playlists for the htc audio manager? i copied one of the file playlists to my computer, and it was a format that was completely unrecognized. Are there any programs or tools to use which will allow me to quickly copy and setup file playlists?

Try and open the file in a text editor and see if there is an easily recognisable format...

no dice...not in any format that is recognizable by windows
Then it sounds like AudioManager has a really stupid format!
Some of the playlist formats are just plaintext, but with a different extension. Try dragging and dropping them into a text editor window.

Transformers.exe as movie browser?

Hello all,
I was curious about the possibility of editing the windows/Transformers.exe to allow you to place other movies into the sd/transformers folder and update the exe allowing you to utilize it as a movie browser/selector. I placed some other movies into the folder and renamed it "movies" however I do not know how to edit the .exe to recognize them or even if this is possible.
I would be curious if this is possible as it would allow you to place shortcut on program grid in Sense for faster/easier browsing of movies.
Does anyone know of any way to place link to a folder into grid. If this were possible the issue would be mute.
Thanks for any input regarding this!
Transformers doesn't have a separate movie browser. It uses the HTC vid app. Its just the way the movies were formatted that make them look so good.

Looks like you didn't really read the OP, I think he's asking if there's a way to add movies to the list that you see after launching Transformers.exe
To OP:
I think it may be possible depending on much of the assembly is hackable

My bad... Reading is fundamental! I'm going to assume there has to be a regedit that points to the transformers movies.
I know this is a lame answer, but why not just put your movies in a folder and fire up file explorer?

Sense style file explorer would look like that, that's why.
Okay, okay. Resco 2010 can be themed to look (and act) a heck of a lot like sense, and it supports thumbnail previews and all sorts of rich media browsing experiences. And it's just a file browser, too.

Thanks for the input. Maybe I will give that a try. I suppose a better solution would be the ability to link to folders thru Sense interface rather than having to open a file explorer type prog.
For now I suppose a folder in the start menu will have to do. Thanks again!
I will try encoding a video file to the same specs as the Transformer movies and put it in the folder. Although I have noticed and mp4 file will use that video player to view the file.

How can we find out the specs for the pre-loaded Transformers movies? And what do you recommend we use to convert movies we may have on our PC's?
connect you phone to your comp as a disk drive. then go to the transformer folder and right click on either file and click properties
Interesting Question
I could be completely reading into this wrong, but let me throw my two cents in.
My buddy and I were discussing how we loved watching the Transformer's movie, especially because you can use the seek function without leaving full-screen mode. If you use windows media player, when you tap the screen in fullscreen mode it immediately reverts back to windowed format.
Someone else had already mentioned above how the transformers.exe uses the HTC video player. However, if you open a program in File Explorer it uses Windows Media player. Basically, I wanted to be able to use the HTC video player for all my videos.
Thankfully this is possible to do, it is just annoying. Here is how you can watch videos using the HTC player:
1) Start Menu > Albums
2) Tap on "Albums" at the bottom left-hand corner (softkey)
3) Under Storage Card or My Device, tap on My Videos (or the name of the folder where you have your videos)
4) Tap on video
By doing this, you can utilize the awesome HTC video player!
I hope this helps with what you were trying to do.
Yeah, I tried the same thing as going through the file explorer isnt one click access (unless you always leave it in the Movies folder). Here's one alternative, but the GUI needs a little work http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=520604. It would be cool if someone picked up this project and improved it just a little. But, it works at least though.
that program would be awesome if it's polished up.
Yea, I was kind of wanting to encode the movies to avi to save space. I didnt know how to get the shortcuts to link up with the other movies instead, so I havent done it yet.
how bout a shortcut

i too tried in vail to add my movies to the transformers folder in file explorer, is there a way to add a short cut to my movies folder in the quicklinks?
maybe you guys can help me out...
i removed transformers from my sd card and onto my computer in an effort to conserve space.. but now i realize that i'm not gonna use all the space.. so i decided to put the movies back on sd card.. the only issue is that now my transformers shortcut.. doesn't work.. it gets to the page where i have to click either transformers 1 or transformers 2.. then when i select one of them.. it states that the media cannot be found..
so yea.. i was wondering if anyone can assist me in making that shortcut work again... i'm assuming that i have to direct a file using a registry editor.. or something... i think something along those lines.. i can't imagine this being really all that hard.. so please someone help me out and kinda guide me through it.. any suggestions?>
