I am looking for a mini-USB Male to mini-USB Male cable to connect a GPS device (Garmin Edge 205) to a PPC (Cingular 8525) to transfer data. Both devices have mini-USB Female connectors normally used with mini-USB Male to regular USB Male to charge and transfer data with a laptop.
I'll write the driver myself.
Can you help?

I'm about to purchase an HTC P3300 and I would like to use a car diagnostic software call "VagCheck". To use it, you need a cable to connect from the the PPC to the cars OBDII port. These cables only come for iPaq ppc connectors to OBDII, serial to OBDII, and USB to OBDII. These cables are expensive and I already have a serial to OBDII cable. So I'm looking for some kind of way to connect the cable to the P3300 via the mini USB connector but I know there will need to be some drivers involved.
Does anyone know if there's an adapter from mini USB to regular USB or Serial for PPC's with drivers?
BTW, there is a more expensive alternative. There's a bluetooth connector for the car that plugs into the OBDII and you can just connect via BT. But that is the most expensive set-up.
So this may be a silly question, but I've just received the T-Mobile MDA (HTC Wizard) second-hand and without a charger.
The Mini USB port on the bottom allows ActiveSync and charging from my notebook's USB port, but when I try to charge using an AC-to-USB adapter it doesn't work... I've tried two different Motorola phone chargers and a generic one that came with my Jawbone that has a USB female connector on the adapter and you supply your own USB cable. I've used the same cable I was using when attaching to the PC, but no luck.
Interestingly enough, I did get it to charge with the same USB cable once at an airport by plugging it into the Southwest Airlines chairs with the USB power plugs...
So does anyone know? Does this phone require a special sort of charger?
you need a charger that is rated 1.0Amps.
usb is normally 500mAmps, not enough to charge your phone.
Is there any way to get USB host functionality without the dock? Is it possible to use an OTG cable and a female to female USB adapter?
There is already a thread where this has been discussed: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1102049
Female to female adapter doesn't work.
Ok i know there is already a thread talking about ethernet to usb adapters but this is a little bit of a different situation. Today while cleaning one of the offices i work for a came across a USB to Ethernet CABLE. Not an adapter per se just a cable with both a male usb and male ethernet. Now i wanted to know is it possible to hook the USB side upto my OTG cable and plug the ethernet end into a router or hub and attain a wired connection?

its the same thing just as one piece
I have a few cables like this as well (1 end has USB and Ethernet, the other end has Ethernet). Can't say it's ever worked on my desktop though...
alright ill just have to give it a try when i get the chance
You are heading for trouble there. That cable is not a ethernet cable, it is to plug into a battery backup for monitoring. At best you would be risking damage to your tablet if you trying to use it like you described. And yes, it was a poor choice by the battery backup manufacturers to use a cat 5 connector on one end of their cables.
First of all, I have seen a lot of reports of people not being able to plug in headphones because the 90 degree adapters cover the headphones. Anyways, would a usb male to female adapter work if I just plugged in a normal data/charging cable and then attached that adapter so that I could use usb devices?

Um, no.
The cable attached to the device needs to have pins 1 and 5 connected (OTG). If you're worried about angled connectors, just get a straight one and it's not an issue.
