backlight

im just wondering after a while of not using my phone the backlight gets reverted all the way dim so i cant see anything on my phone. Luckily i have it on my today screen and i can see just enough to fix it. is there any way to fix that perm so it doesnt do that.
maybe see this thread - doesn't contain a solution, though:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=51415
I had a similar problem struggling with PocketZenPone and found following issue: There is a checkbox in the energy settings: switch on backlight by tapping on screen (i dont know the exact phrase because i have got a german ROM). Double check if it is checked. If not check it and your problems are gone. Post the result here please for the other guys.
Thanx.
well the thing is ive done that before and well it still reverts back to that setting after a while

Do you mean you have double checked that issue and recognized that the option is not checked although you have checked it.
Do you mean it is unchecked automatically? If so this is a crucial information for all.
I had the same problems some days ago,
Didnt work to check/uncheck softreset.
I went to registry and did it there, and now it works.
johnny which key did you go to
I´m so sorry, i dont remember.
But it was in hkcu\controlpanel\backlight
Try change backlightontap and batterytimeoutunchecked.
That sounds good.
I would revert them and softreset then change them the regular way again (if its not ok.)
So probably i did it at that time.
ok this is getting real annoying this didnt start happening til i upgraded to 2.21. Now everytime i go into standby it turns my back light to very dim and i gotta go and reput it back to bright is there a program that might be doing it.
i have wisbar, resco explorer, resco pocket radio, pocketbreeze, phm reg editor. installed any one else have any problems with those messing with the backlight
i also have memaid, pocketzenphone 6

The green blinking is annoying the hell out of me for some reason, is there anyway to turn off the status/service LED? I dont' have a problem when its connected to WiFi and it blinks, but it blinking all the time to show service is killing me!
Also, whenever I click the "Phone" icon in Settings>Personal> the phone will just freeze up and I have to soft reset it.....anyone know what the heck is going on? Thanks!
look at wiki - http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_Registry , it is possible to turn those LED off, but then also vibration function is turned off....

Mine was doing the same thing running the official 2.15 ROM and it turned out to be PTTFix that was giving me the lockups. Once I uninstalled it and soft reset everything worked fine again.

Wifi pop-up drives me crazy

Hi guys, haven't seen this one discussed yet. If so, pardon me. Anyway, here we go.
I spend quite some time on the road so I installed my old pal Navizon on my THD. But know I'm cannot get the wifi pop-up turned off. So far, I found three places to switch it off: in Navizon itself, through settings/sounds en settings/wifi. But the the wifi popups keep coming back, making the phone virtually unworkable because they pop up every 2 or 3 seconds.
Does anyone have the same problem? Can someone tell me the right registry keys? I found one, but I think this is controlled by more then one key...

yeah, I know. Been there, done that. Did not work. It really annoyed me so I decided to clear the storage en start over. Alas, also this time the wifi popups keep coming up even though I unticked the frigging box.
Any thoughts?
How about putting the comms manager in the start menu then just pushing WIFI off when you don't need it. I normally turn off WIFI like this to preserve battery...
EDIT: I don't know much about the app you're using...

Same problem here. I also unticked the "notify" option, but the popups keep on coming up. Does anybody know of any registry hacks that resolve this?
Is this isuue still not sorted? I have installed the latest official HTC firmware and it still occurs. Does anyone have an answer to this?

igo8 help

ok, ive recently installed igo8 on my touch hd, my problem is i get a constant tapping when in use, annoying more than enything else. the program runs perfect appart from that.
someone please help its driving me insane
someone pleeeeeeeeeeeese help
What do you mean, constant tapping? Explain more deeper your problem when use iGO8?
If you think on lights to power off and you must tap to screen to go on, you must go to Settings -> Device -> Power Management: Backlight Always On
first of all thanks for the reply, i will try to explain further. when i open the app (igo8) i get a constand tapping sound, its like im tapping the screen again and again (which im not). when i open GPS data (on igo8) there is a green flashing light next to a satalite, the sound corresponds with the light flashing? at first i thought i was because i didnt have a signal but it still happens when i have a full GPS signal
any help at all appreciated

Hey brad,
Try deleting the "save" folder, and then adding the following to your sys.txt file
[sound]
mute_os_key=1
Hope that this helps...
Cheers,
MjeSpoz
no that didnt work mate
still tick tick bloody tick
ive just noticed that the save folder had returned? tryed to delete again (was confirmed) but when i re-open file explorer its back again?
ive tried deleting from my pc via activesync and from the handset, and yet the folder still re-appears
brad,
If it's empty, then I don't believe that it's an issue...
Here's a link to a thread about the same issue - apparently cracou111 fixed his by "just adjusting the power management in the menu of igo"??
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2957695#post2957695
Good luck!
MjeSpoz
adjusted power management, no more TICK TICK! WAY HEY!!!!!
i really do appreciate all your help
Simple, isn`t it...

No modem detected

What the deuce?
So I installed some stuff on my HD2, coOkies home tab and bsb tweaks. And now for some reason whenever I do a soft reset the phone a little error comes up saying that there was no modem detected.
Its solved by going into the Comm manager and turning on the data connection. But its quite annoying having to turn it on all the time. Im not sure which program is doing it. And it only happens 80% of the time. Sometimes I'm lucky and it just works. It might not be the programs, I honestly have no idea what it is.
I cant be the only one with this problem. It may have been adressed but i couldnt find anything. Help!
Thanx
