Crack noise with Samsung WEP 200 bluetooth headset - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro General

Hi guys,
I have problem time to time with my bluetooth headset.
In fact, some times when I make a phone call using my Samsung WEP 200 bluetooth headset, I get crack noise. I am within a meter of Jasjar so it's not a matter of distance.
I try to understand what is the problem but I didn't get a clue. Also, it doesn't happen all the time which make it really weird.
Anyone is experiencing a similar problem?
Thank you.
Julien

Jabra BT250 with XDA2

Hi all,
First post for me, but i've been hiding in the wings for ages.
Anyway, just for your info, the JABRA BT250 works perfectly (Headset profile).
Once bonded with the XDA2, it doesn't loose any connection, even after charging.
Once the XDA2 and BT250 are bonded nothing seems to stop them working together.
Roll on the Hands free profile tho...

Hi,
I can confirm the above. I was really worried about trying to get a BT headset to work after reading about all the problems other users have had in the past.
I bought a Jabra BT250 for £79.99 from my local o2 shop in Bristol.
Works perfectly. Bonds with no problem. Has kept that bond even after soft reset on XDA and charging / turning off etc on the BT250.
Highly recommended. 8 hours talktime and 240 hours standby on one charge of the headset.

I'm using the BT250 also with no connection issue. However, I'm experiencing some slight static noise when the BT Headset first starts up. Are other people getting this issue as well?

I only experience this (actually it's more a sort of distortion) when my battery is under 55%.
Further I can only second the opinions of the above posters: Using a BT 250 for a while now with my MDA II. Really recommended!
Does it work w/ Microsoft Voice Command???
No BT headset will work with Ms Voice Command at this time.

BT reactivate alone after a call

Hi,
i noticed everytime i turn off bluetooth (in order to spare battery time) it reactivate itself alone after a call... is this normal ? does anybody else experience this problem ?
(ps : i have pocket bluetooth tools, but i don't think that s the problem... is it??)
Thanks for any help
It is, and its not a bug, its a feature Its so you can answer a call using your bluetooth headset.
If you dont have a headset its obviously useless to you, but PBT is not under development any more, so you kind of stuck with the way it works now, or to un-install it.
Surur
Ok. i just had to read in fact the guide http://www.bluetooth.jazztel.es/guide_e.html to see that it can turn it back to off if BT is not used after 60 seconds...that s a good idea
Too pity they stopped development, it helped me a lot in the set up of the BT for activesync via BT and for set up of BT GPS...
anyway, thanks for the hint. (it gave me the idea to look a little bit further
Have a nice day!
I use PBT and I use the 60 second feature. What I found with my o2 clip bt headset is that the headset seems to lose connection to the phone after a short while regardless of the 60sec rule. Sometimes it would happen just before receiving or dialing a number.
Very annoying.

Come on guys....
does that mean no one using this automatic pairing ?
'm still being postive on this thread
Cheers
I would be amazed if it was true, it would be a huge bluetooth security hole if it was !!! if you can force a headset to pair with out authentication you can force anything to pair !!! are you sure you understood correctly
Don't you mean that the sound was automatically sent to the headset when a call comes in? Automatic pairing is something I have never heard of. I guess the guy paired his headset, so that when a call comes in, he hears it autmatically in his headset. Sounds more logical and feasible to me.
Why would you want to pair automatically anyway? Just pair it in the morning when you wake up, and use it all day till you switch it off. Only thing I can imagine would be battery save, but that would mean that an incoming call would have to activate both the BT on your phone and on your headset. And that is not possible, since without BT connection ( paired) no signals from the phone come to the headset.
ice_coffee -- Though I didn't see the subtle details of the mentioned software i think we'll have to pair with our BT device (proper authentication) which will be saved by the program and these details wud be used as and when incoming call comes ....
Koksie -- ur intuition is correct ....i.e. reason to do this stuff is to save battery.... bluetoooth drains exec very rapidly.....
if none of you all seen that post then i should be dreaming :!:
i'll continue my search and update the thread if i'm successful
Thanks for your inputs guys....
Cheers
Pairing is pairing but turning bluetooth on for an incoming or outgoing call is something else. PockeZenPhone has this option but it doesn't work cause it takes to long to turn on bluetooth and connect the headset before loosing your call.
Oh.. not it make sense. I think what he means is that, you had your headset and phone paired (with code and stuff). However, the headset or phone bluetooth may be off. And once there is a call coming in, it will switch on the headset/bluetooth on phone.

bluetooth problems

Hello
Since i bought my htc hd2 in November 2009, I never find the solution to call people with my bluetooth headset. The bip sound that should tell me when to pronounce the name doesnt work well and sometimes people call me on the cell phone, i answzer with the bluetooth headset and I receive the voice in the cellphone and not in the headset. Someone can help please
Thanks a lot
I have the same problem. I've tried 3 different bluetooth headsets. Some days it's fine. Even turning the phone off and on doesn't fix it a lot of the time. I'm actually kind of ticked at the HD2; I thought upgrading from the T-mo Wing would be great, but the HD2 had the freezing problem, and now with the new firmware, it's like something is running in the background (although it's not). I've been using a wired headset when it's critical that I don't have an issue.

[Q] Jabra Extreme2 with Epic 4G causes phone to freeze

I have searched and searched and I am actually currently waiting two new Jabra Extreme2 headsets from Jabra.... but I don't have a lot of faith that the problem will be solved.
The scenario is simple.. Calling and listening to music is fine. The issue is on incoming calls, and only MOST of the time.
If the headset is on and connected (bluetooth) the ringtone will start to stutter and the announcement in the headset will be "call from " and a number instead of the actual name in the contact list. At this point the phone will be frozen. The call will roll to voicemail. The only way to shut the headphone up from repeating the number continuously is to turn it off. Once the headset is off, you can usually get to the pulldown and turn off bluetooth. It will take awhile (minute or two) to release, but it will. At this point you can turn on the headset and turn on bluetooth again and make a call without issue. Maybe even receive a call... but about 8 out of 10 calls will result in the above.
My wife and I each have an Epic 4g and a Jabra Extreme2 headset. The issue is the same on both phones. We have older Jabra BT530 headsets that other than sounding like crap. (old bluetooth tech) work great, no issues.
I'm not convinced the issue is the headset. I mean really, there is no "software" for the headset. It's just a bluetooth connection, so why is the phone freezing? I tried different ringtones as I thought that might be the issue, but it isn't.
Does anyone have any thoughts or insight, or any idea if it could actually be the headset causing the phone to freeze.
Also, does anyone know how to disable the PBAB as that seems to be related but without being able to disable it, I can't confirm.
Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated. Anyone using the Extreme2 ?
Well, I have a Moto Finiti Bluetooth and I am not having any of the issues you mentioned so far. Thankfully its connecting better than earlier ROM releases on my Epic
