HTC 4350 doesn't work with Goodlink - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

Hi,
I have just installed Goodlink in HTC 4350, but it seems some problems working with GPRS connection.
The symptom is Goodlink has problem of initializing GPRS connection, if the GPRS connection failed all next step faied.
I have a walkaround to this problem, manually start internet explore to connect to a website via GPRS, everything is working fine. During the period of GRPS connection set by IE, Goodlink can work.
Do you have any solution to this? Need to refresh a new ROM to fix this or it's a Goodlink's bug? I think it's Goodlink's bug because GPRS works fine with IE.
Any suggestion? Pls advise.

what version of goodlink? got 4.8.1.14 and never saw your problem

MSN Messenger via WIFI/BT

Hi,
Maybe I'm not looking in the right direction but:
I'm able to loggon to MSN Messenger without any problems if I use a GPRS connection. I have an @msn.com address and alreaddy deleted the AutoDomain registry key. Everything works like a charme.
If I try to connect through WIFI or and (ActiveSync) BlueTooth connection however after minutes of trying I get an error "Logon to MSN Messenger Service failed because the service is not responding". I need to try again later. Yeah right...
I can surf the internet or use an internet connection on any other program without any problems through both WIFI and BT.
Any ideas? I can't imagine T-Mobile did something to prevent the use of messenger without using their GPRS connection; it's flat fee.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Cacti
I'm using a shortcut to instmsgr.exe, and a few days ago I couldn't connect to MSN Messenger. I think the problem appeared after a hard reset.
I don't think your problem is the exact same problem as I had - I think mine wouldn't connect to MSN Messenger through activesync either. But here's what I did:
I had to log in once via "Pocket MSN" (pmsn.exe), after that it has worked to use the shortcut to insmsgr.exe.

wm6 vpn pptp timeout issue

hi
i recently upgraded my treo 750 (treo 750v vodafone) to wm6. i have configured exchange-active-sync over pptp-vpn (everything worked fine on wm5). now i have a ptroblem with my vpn.
when i try to surf a local address (192.168.1.20 everything configured so he opens a vpn-connection) mostly he gets a timeout. when i type the same url again (vpn connection still active) it always works. same problem with exchange-active-sync. first attemt fails but when i sync again with open vpn-connection it works.
after some trying i found out that if i hav an already up data connection my doesnot have this issue. so the problem only occurs when no connection is running and the treo has to open a data connection and then has to open the vpn-connection.
to me it seems like the device tells the program, that wans a internet connection that the connection is up, too early. so the program tries to open a socket but gets a timeout because the tunnel is not up at this moment.
is someone else having this issue?
my data:
device: treo 750v (CE OS 5.2.1239 Build 17746.0.2.4 original vodafone wm6 update)
network: a1 austrian network (gprs, umts hsdpa all have same problem)
firewall: rv042
vpn protocol: pptp
ps.: on wm5 everything worked fine in the same configuration.
for the moment it helps to have my data-connection configured to be always on.

I have used tmobileukfixed to reset my settings with no success.
It's annoying me as it was working. Typically as these things go somone has sent me a couple of mms messages and I haven't received them which is annoying.

One thing to check, as I've found this with my Ameo, is that you're not connected to a Wifi Lan. WM doesn't seem to know to use the 3G/GPRS connection to receive MMS, and tries to use the default internet connection which, when active, is the Wifi.
Thanks for the info. I have my wi-fi disabled. I think I have found a solution when i can find the cab that is !
Cheers for looking and replying though

Windows Live Messenger

I have problem with windows live. On my diamond(1) works windows live messenger oke.
But on my diamond2, live messenger come everytime with sign on problem. problem.
Same livecontact, username, passw, provider. My internet works oke.
Maybe has someone a solution.
Is there somebody where it works oke, or is it a diamond2 problem?
I have search of the diamond2 forum for it but nothing found.
I have the same problem. I can sign in to msn everywhere except on my touch 2.
I think I had this problem originally, I turned off the proxy. - All Settings, connections tab, connections, manage existing, proxy settings tab and I unticked the 'this network uses a proxy box'. make a note of it before you do though.
G
My network doesn't use a proxy. So it's already unticked. I'll see which version of windows live is installed and if I can maybe find a newer version to see if that works.
At this moment I sigin in Windows Live does still not working.
Is there somebody that knows the problem and a solution?
I have checked the proxy setting. No proxy.
On my phone I discovered that MSN Messenger doesn not work with WiFi, but with a 3G connection only.
I try MSN Messenger and also it doesn not work with WiFi.
I must try it with 3G, I have not everywhere 3G, most off the times GPRS.
On my other devices (also HTC, Diamond, cruise...) I had never problems with Windows Live MSN with GPRS.
I cannot install another version because this one is in the ROM installed.
What? Really? doesn't the diamond 2 supports wifi fully or is it a failure of msn?
I beleave it's not a WIFI problem but a MSN problem, I think that because MSN is not working on my D2 with GPRS
guys wtf ... my MSN WORKS with wifi but NOT with 3g ... i have tried everything to make it work and no succes ...
but as soon as i find a wifi network, MSN works with no problems
(TD2, official WWE ROM)
ahile,
I have the same problem as you , and its the same for exchange mail synch as well.
hello all,
same problem here
don't use a proxy, msn can't connect, not with gprs, not with wifi
i really hope someone knows a solution soon!
When i recive my phone from my phone company (orange) i have the same problem, it seems to be blocked so that you have to use gprs conection. After i flash it with the new oficial HTC rom it works with the wifi perfect.
Same problem here.
Unable to connect with 3G but Edge is working. Wifi also works.

Cannot Connect ActiveSync via GPRS using MyWork Network

Very Strange Problem with ActiveSync over GPRS.
I upgraded Imate JasJam WM6.0 to HTC HD2 Telstra WM6.5.
Device uses activesync over Telstra NextG to My Work Network with Exchange Server 2003. Setup the new HTC with the same work network authentication credentials, used the same Activesync credentials for Exchange Mail Server. I now have the default Telstra Internet connection plus MyWork Network connection. The new WM6.5 connections area is a little different but not too difficult. I started it up and worked first time. Fantastic.
I purchased another HTC HD2 and did the same for a work colleague. Once again worked first shot. Fantastic. Couldn't be happier with the trial.
Purchased 10 more for the rest of the team to upgrade their Jasjams. Setup the next one and no worries with the connection but it would not start active sync. Then setup the next one, with exactly the same problem - activesync spins for about 30secs then pops the 'Cannot Connect' error. Then I setup the next HTC and it worked perfectly. The Jasjam upgrade program is now stopped pending resolution!
So we have 3 that will sync to exchange mail and 2 that won't. I still have a drawer full of brand new HD2's so I try other devices, same problem. I move the SIM back into the JasJam, no problems so its not the SIM or the user credentials. So I try using my own credentials into a HD2 that won't sync and get the same problem, HOWEVER, without touching my own working HD2 whule testing the faulty one, my own device will now not sync either.!
The Work Connection dials telstra.corp and my credentials establish the connection OK which does work and can run other remote apps. The cannot connect error has a blank where you would expect to see the number dialed so it means that activesync no longer knows how to connect. If I change the internet connection from Telstra Internet to MyWork Connection then activesync works OK. Then change it back to Telstra Internet and Activesync still works OK, so that seemed to solve the problem, but now the device cannot connect to the Internet. This is all very strange.
Have tried internet/dedicated setting but this seems to ignore me anyway.
Have tried diabling '...Faster Data Sync..'
Device syncs via a USB/PC connection without a trouble.
Anyone got any ideas. Thanks
Workaround found but its still strange behaviour.
On the HD2 the Telstra connections can't be edited so I created a new one and supplied the access point, IP address and proxy from the old JasJam. The HD2 now has my work connection and my own version of the Telstra connection. This seemed to do the trick. I now have Internet from Telstra and activesync via GPRS to my work Exchange Server.
However what caused Activesync to not know how to connect in the first place?
I would appreciate any ideas you might have. Thanks
I have been having exactly the same issue as posted above and have been tearing my hair out for the last couple of days trying to fix it.
I am syncing using ActiveSync on my HD2 ( WM6.5 ) to Google calendar using google sync and was getting the same unable to connect error or ActiveSync just sitting there saying Waiting for Network.
Syncing worked fine if I connectd to my Wireless network but OTA just wouldn't work.
After much googling I came upon this thread so tried setting up a new connection to Telstra Internet but this didn't fix it.
But then I happened upon the solution, so thought I'd spend the time posting it here in case it can help somebody else with the issue.
Open Tools/ActiveSync on the HD2, then Menu/Options.
Highlight "Microsoft Exchange" and press Settings.
Assuming your settings are already entered and correct, press Next until you see the list of what to Sync (Contacts, Calendar etc).
Now press MENU and select Advanced.
Under Connection, change this to Internet (click OK if you get a warming about not using a dedicated connection) , and press Save then Finish, and finally press OK.
As soon as I did this syncing worked via the Telstra Internet connection and has worked perfectly for the whole of today.
So I hope this helps somebody else out there who like me may have been googling for ages trying to find a solution to this issue.
No Activesync Through Telco Connection
I was also having activesync issues. The connection worked fine via WiFi through any access point (home, work, friend's house) but would not sync through Telstra Internet.
I was trying the "internet" option rpalmer68 mentioned when I stumbled upon the "Sync data when roaming" setting in >SETTINGS >DATA SERVICES >ACTIVESYNC.
After turning this on magic began to happen. All working perfectly.
I realised that I still had the "internet" connection set as above and went back to change it when I noticed it had changed to "dedicated".
I am using stock standard Telstra issued HD2 and haven't needed to modified any network connections.
This may be a simpler solution to try with the same outcome.
I had the same problem with my HD2. Changing the "Sync data when roaming" made no difference.
But rpalmer68's solution worked perfectly.
I noticed that I had to set the connection to Internet (this made it work). And then, when I checked the settings later, it had changed itself to Dedicated.
Setting the connection to Dedicated myself did not solve the problem (it changes itself back to blank).
