Hi,
can someone please tell me how to hard reset the magician?
There seems to be a bluetooth com problem (there are no com ports), and a wifi problem. Hopefully a hard reset will sort this out?
Kind Regards
Take the battery out - that will wipe the memory.
press and hold power button and do a softreset.
Press and hold the power button while doing a soft-reset and that will make a hard-reset..

Hi All,
Just two points that i had to search for on the XDAII, thought i'd share...
How to disconnect GPRS - Hold down the call disconnect button (1.66 ROM)
How to hard reset - While holding down the power button, use the stylus to press the sort reset button
** Not this will erase all of your applications and data on your XDA
Hope this helps someone, somewhere, someday.
RE: RESETTING
OZ,

Please check my post about my troubling experience with the hungs ups!
Thanks alot!
Hi everybody,
I just can't seem to reset my K-Jam. I tried it a dozen times but it still is a soft reset. Ok before everybody get's angry: I know how to hard reset (hold the two side top buttons and press the reset button). I tried it in different timings like first holding down the two side top buttons then pressing the resetbutton and holding it for almost a minute. Or first pressing and holding the reset button and then the two buttons but it is always a soft reset.
I guess it is a soft reset because I don't get the calibrate screen thing.
Any tips here because I want to get rid of the slowdowns from the virusprogram....?

Hi,
I had the same problem. Theres a facility in settings called 'Clear Storage'
start>settings>system>'Clear Storage'
this actually does a hard re-set.
Thanks Webster,
I didn't think of that one! That did the trick!

Hold down the Comm Button and Voice Button continuously while tapping the reset hole.
As long as you keep holding down the two buttons, the screen will go black and soon prompt you to hit Send to hard-reset (wipe the unit), or any other key to continue with a soft-reset (reboot).
Thanks Beyondthetech,
I'll try that next time when I need it  .
Great blog you have! Has been very useful in making up my mind.
I'll install TT 5 later now I know how it can be done.

Just a small update
Just to let you guys now. I finally found out the proper way to hardreset.
The trick is not to let go of the Communications and Voice Command button until you have stopped pressing the soft reset hole. Just wait with releasing the two buttons until there is a message on the screen asking you to press the Sent key to hard reset.
Another funny thing is that you can restore a backup (made with Sunny Backup) on another K-Jam device. It still runs. This came in handy because I exchanged mine for another because of some hardware problems.

Which one is the "Sent key".
the telephone "call" key (green handset) (left side)
I just got my Orange SPV M5000 (Universal)... but there arent any icons or shortcuts for me to soft reset the phone.
Even when i press the power button, it just turns the screen off and back on. Even when i hold the power button for long, it still doesnt soft reset.
Can someone help?
Have you tried poking the soft reset button, just next to the USB port on the back?
Or try VJEschaton.
V
thanks, i thought the reset hole in the back next to the usb deletes all my personal data, didnt know it was soft reset. Thank VJ
The topic is quite clear - I installed the a2dp-hack some time ago - Bluetooth still was OK.
Before I overclocked the device (with the great tool from ikarus) the bluetooth function stopped working I.e. when I tap the bluetooth button in the comm-manager, the wait-for-process-symbol appears for 3 sec and nothing happens. Made a hard-reset yesterday to solve the problem - still no working bluetooth.
Is there a difference in doing a hard reset and doing a hard-reset and removing the battery?
Would be the last trick prior to sending the device to O2 Germany for replacement...
Or do you experts have an advice?
Cheers

hardreset:
push the commanager and the photo button and then press the softreset button with teh stylus near the usb plug.
when you see: "Press send to restore factory default, Other keys to quit" then press the green phone button and the hardreset ist done!
a removing from the battery ist no hardreset.

Hello,
I have a Verizon Imagio (HTC Leo) and cannot figure out how to do a basic soft reset. Does anyone know how to perform this via either button combinations OR a program on the phone that does a SOFT reset (not the full HARD reset). Thanks for any help on this!
Cheers!

that's the whitestone.... look a little further down the page...
Also wouldnt it be the power button that you hold down, i think its not a dedicated button so i will guess the call end button will do this.

Click to collapse
Hold down the power button (hang up) and an option to power off the device will be shown.

Is this to power off the device or to reset the device? I think it is to power off...
Poweroff is a soft reset.
A hard reset blows away all your info and settings. Like a format
Hold the power button down and you will get a prompt.
of
pull the battery
Or hit the reset button under the battery cover. Little red button.
Hard reset is holding both the volup and voldown buttons during poweron
You could try Touchoff... it installs as a cab file and when you hold your power button down, it gives you the option of shutdown, soft reset, etc... or pxshutxp... which is an app that you have to tap to open for the same functions as touchoff....
