Why does all the opened (eg read) email in my 'POP3 Inbox' disappear after a 'send/receive' function? I know I can keep it if I move it to another folder. My outbox mail is moved, appropriately, to the sent mail folder. There must be a simple button/setting I am overlooking......help.....

Hi guys,
Through the wonderful creations of a couple of guys here on the forum, I've installed the Deimos Scum Mod theme for the homescreen++ as shown here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...age=5&post=#49
However, everytime I click on the email button, it keeps on going to my outlook main page whenever email shows 0. If there's unread email, it will always go to my messaging main page. But it will always read the correct number of total unread email.
I don't and will never use outlook. I use push gmail through Seven (www.seven.com). Gmail is my primary email account.
How do I change or alter the xml file so that everytime I click the email button (whether there is or isn't any email), so that it will always go straight to my gmail inbox?
This is a perfect theme, except for this little glitch. I tried all the help from the forum archive but it doesn't seem to work.
link isnt working.
Sorry this is the correct link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1885455&postcount=78
It has the cab file inside as well. Please help!
Hi,
How can I delete an Google Mail email from the "Trash" label? I can put them in "Trash" using a long press however there is no option to delete when doing a long press on the mail once in "Trash".
The only way I can delete this is to log onto googlemail web interface and delete the mail from the "Bin" (I'm a UK user).
Cheers.
Anybody???

From the webpage go to your settings and then to "LAB"... try using this "Advanced IMAP Controls".
--M
Thanks for the reply but no joy
Still, on the G1 I can long press in most labels and press delete which sends to Trash however long pressing on an item in the trash does not give any option to delete.
This behaviour is the same with and without that LAB package enabled.
Is there any other solution?
Cheers.
Anybody know if this is possible? It's a real pain having to delete emails from the Trash via the web interface, which is what I'm doing at the moment.
I'm considering that it might be as my GoogleMail account is a UK one and hence the folder is named "Bin" on the web interface. Is this confusion of names what is causing the G1 to not give me the option to delete emails from "Trash"? (Doubt this though, as it *does* put items into "Trash" when I delete on the phone and these can be seen in the "Bin" folder on the web interface).
Has anybody successfully deleted a GoogleMail email from the Trash/Bin using GMail app? If so, how?
Thanks.
Doesn't give me the option to delete things in the trash either.
I guess the only way to do it is from the web interface.
I'm pretty sure it cannot be done through the phone UI.
What is your goal?
I've been using gmail for a number of years now and I've never had a need to manually delete anything from the trash...

LOL what?? did you not read what the OP posted? what does your response have to do with anything??
I wish i had something to add... but unfortunately.. i'm also someone who has interest in this question.... anyone?
Yeah I too am interested in knowing this
I too use gmail
It has a push email server option.
It has the facility to import mail & contacts from numerous other accounts.
If your regular account is a gmail (or gmail 'family', ie Sky) account, you can forward mail from it to your gmail push email account.
This way I have a 'one stop shop' single push email account on my HD2 for my numerous email accounts. Can reply from the received account too.
I have set the option to also leave collected mail on the original server.
Have been using it faultlessly for a year.

Have read your post many times. I thought I had answered it!
Push email is delivered to your device as soon as it arrives in your server's mailbox. AUTOMATICALLY
this thread is quite comical - it seems many of us are interested in this - however people are answering it with either a totally different subject or actually not answering at all.
@RalphS - to be fair, you didn't answer it at all. We all know the email is SUPPOSE to arrive automatically once the Gmail servers or Hotmail servers pick it up, however it is not being pushed to the phone AUTOMATICALLY. You have to set a schedule for it which by default is to check every two hours unless you change it. It is NOT being PUSHED.
This is the point and also the reason "ariel123" posted a very common question most here would like a solution to.
Reading the question would avoid confusion. Clearly you did not understand the question despite "reading it amny times" - bottom line, no, you didn't answer it!

It would be easier to answer the question if the OP asked it in clear English using correct grammar and spelling. It's a bit difficult to answer something that appears to be written by a child who expects help from mind readers.
The first post certainly did seem to be asking about push email which explains why people have offered gmail as a suggestion. However, the OP's subsequent posts seem to be about downloading entire emails rather than just headers. If this is the case (and it's impossible to be certain given the lack of legible detail in the posts) then do the following if you're using Exchange or EAS:
- Click on Start>Tools>Activesync.
- Click on Menu>Options, select your exchange server and click on Settings.
- Click on Next twice, select Email and then click on Settings.
- Select Entire Message from the Download size limit combo and tick the Include file attachments option.
- Click on OK and then click on Finish.
It has been properly answered - seriously.
My incoming mail is PUSHED to my mobile AUTOMATICALLY in REAL TIME WITHOUT A SCHEDULE.
Notification of the previous post arrived, of it's own accord, @ 14:15.
I do not have my own mail server. I rely solely on the Gmail exchange server to SEND to me my incoming mail, in their entirety, PUSHED in real time, collected from my numerous accounts, all for free.
In my 1st post I gave the link on how to set up for push email.

I do not think this is a Focus only issue, it is a windows mobile problem.
I connect my outlook client on the Focus to my exchange server just fine. Any emails that come directly to my inbox, i get notified on.
However!, i have alot of rules setup to push emails into folders to help keep things organized, as I am a sys admin, I do not get 10-20 emails a day, i can get 100+.. I need to be notified when an item hits a sub folder.
i went into "show all folders" and checked Sync this folder on each one i want notified on, and when i go into folder view, it shows (3) next to the folder name letting me know there are 3 unread emails there, but i never got notified any arrived.
On the iphone4, it would not update the count on the main number of unread messages, but it WOULD notify me. (a Ding)
On android, i used touchdown, and it worked perfectly.
On BB, i run a blackberry enterprise server, and it worked perfectly!
WHY doesnt the WINDOWS mobile phone work the way the compeitor phones do for alerting on sub folders, ITS MICROSOFT SOFTWARE TALKING TO MICROSOFT SOFTWARE, sorry for yelling, but this is make it or break it, if it is not doable, I will return the Focus, and -10 for microsoft for bringing shame to winmo7.
Someone please tell me there is a way to get notified on winmo7 on subfolders, preferably, update the count on the main tile!

I have the same problem but it was an issue for me before I moved to Phone 7. Like you, I am a sys admin. I get hundreds of emails per day. Instead of using a rule to move an email to a folder, use the rule to assign it a category label (use the same name you did before for the folder). Now create a search folder in Outlook for each of these categories. What this does is send all mail to the inbox so it alerts but you can click on each search folder to only see the messages that meet each category.

That is a very interesting work around. That may just work.
How well does the search work on a 1gb mailbox?

EXCELLENT suggestion! I'm going to try that myself ASAP! FWIW, this problem is nothing new. WinMo had the same problem and it's kind of funny how the stock answer for every missing feature in WP7 is "It's a new system that wasn't build on WinMo" but THIS managed to make the jump.
I'll have to try the category trick, too. But I would love it to alert on subfolders!
I can't seem to firgure out if. I want to save a email in gmail I truer so manuscript things every time I try to move to any folder in comes with then delete its gone form the folder I though I saved it I am so. Lost
Hi there,
I am wondering if you can rephrase the question because I don't really know what it is you are asking.
sorry trying to save a email in any folder that comes with gmail but when I move it to any folder n then delete my emails go back to folder its gone

When you move the email to another folder, it does not create a copy of that email - it MOVES it, therefore there is still only one copy.
If you then delete this copy, it will be gone to the trash.
Answer: Do not delete an email if its the only copy!
ok cool that will work txs

I think I understand a bit more what's going on...
GMAIL doesn't have "folders" like we're used to in Outlook and Hotmail, instead it has "stars" and "tags".
When you "move to a folder" you actually just assign it a tag, the email stays in your main folder. You can't really make copies to other folders.
Think its wired to have list on left to do nothing with then .....wth. wish they could save emails ....
