Unread messages in Outbox - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro General

I have 2 unread e-mail messages in my Outbox. I think they got there when my MDA crashed (soft reset) while I was sending an e-mail.
Odd thing is that they are not shown. Just an empty list with underneath "0 items, 2 unread". I switched off the check for "Only display messages from the last x days". So it's not that. I also already tried the "Clear" tool (which claims it only works for Sent items and inbox anyway, but still)
I guess it's not a big deal (it's only mildly confusing), but I'd like to get rid of those two ghost items in my outbox.

Nooone ever seen this before and/or know how to fix it?

Invisible message in outbox

The outbox of one of my email accounts always displays one unread message (outbox is bold, 1 between brackets). When I click on the folder it's empty but at the bottom is says 0 items, 1 unread. I've sent and received many times but it's still like this a few weeks on. Some kind of glitch? Do I need to erase and recreate the account to get rid of this?
Phantom Outbox Messages
I am having the same issue on my my Cingular 8125. Does this indicate any kind of a problem?
BTW, my Outbox now shows (5) with no messages actually visible in the Outbox.
Thanks for any thoughts.

Where are my text messages?

MDA Vario II - T-Mobile.
On my 'Today' screen, it informs me that I have 4 text messages. When I click on the 'link' there is nothing in my text messages 'inbox'.
I've even sent on from another phone, and I can't see it anywhere!
Has anyonr got any advice?
Thanks
Ratzz
are you sure you're definately in the text messages inbox?
if you click on 'inbox' (top left) it'll show you a list of directories;
imap4
mms
outlook email
text messages
then click on text messages to go to the inbox folder.
appologies if you know this already!
Yep - that's exactly where I'm looking - and I have checked all the other folders (services) too.
There is absolutely nothing there - although I can, and do have emails.
weird! do your text messages flash up on the today screen (preview) when you receive them?
Have you restored your settings from an old backup? This can cause problems in PIM sometimes...

I don't have a preview on the today screen, just a notification:
"Text Messages: 4 Unread"
Clicking on this brings me to the 'Text Messages Inbox" but there is nothing there!

No, I haven't done a restore - I've had my phone one week.
Also(!)
When I send a text message from the phone (after clicking on send) it remains in the "Outbox" and does not get sent.
Anyone got any ideas?
soft reset your tytn or keep opening text inbox, it will evently shows up
thanks netboy, i had a message waiting to be delivered, and the soft reset sent it - however, the today screen stll says i have 5 messages and there is nothing in my inbox.
Have you received any text messages since you noticed the problem? if no, have you tried asking a friend to send you a text to see if that makes them all come through at the same time? worth a try, it might fix it
Hi Nicky - I've just sent a text from my old phone, and I am receiving them, but still cannot find the other 5!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!
I also had this problem, i used this software to reset the unread count: http://home.comcast.net/~relmerator/

SMS messages count

I recently upgraded to WM6. I had backed up all my sms messages in Outlook on my PC which I copied back to my device. Since the device recognizes all the messages as new, it marks them as unread. The hassle is when you have to mark them as read. And you can't select all and mark them as read because if you try that mistake, your XDA is going to go to sleep and there is no telling when will it wake up. So once in a while, when I upgrade and I have to copy all SMS messages back to the device, I mark them read doing 30-40 messages at a time.
Sometimes, I have noticed that when you are done marking them as read, there is a bug in the software and screen status at the bottom as well as the folders list shows 1 message as unread. It also appears on the Today screen: "Text Message: 1 unread message"
Now, my question is, how can I mark all messages as read. One way is to hard reset the device and re do the whole process. I am sure that will work, but its a tedious. Is there any shortcut to it?
Oh and I moved all messages in the Inbox to the Deleted Items folder, now the Inbox is completely empty but it still shows 1 unread message. There should be a way to reset the count? Is there?
I have tried running the fixunreadmessages.exe utility on it. It reset the count of the Inbox to 0 but the Today screen and the folder list still show 1 unread message.
I had the same problem. I posted my solution (which i cant remember) on a thread on the forum just incase anyone else had the problem. Will try and find it.

Incoming Text Messages are not in the inbox??

Please pardon this posting (if this is an already known issue - it's 3.00AM and I've been combing the Herald threads for known issues but didn't see this on there)...
I got a new Wing today and after placing the SIM card in it, the phone works like one would expect until you try to send a text message. That never gets sent . What's more aggravating is the behavior on incoming text messages. The keys light up when I get a new text message and the counter on the home screen adds to the number of unread messages however, when I click on the link to attempt to view the messages, the inbox is blank. 0 messages in it. I have checked all the folders to no avail. Even a hard reset on the device doesn't seem to fix the issue. Am I missing something here? If so what??
FYI I called T-Mo support and their Tier 3 guy was stumped.
Here's the wierd thing while I was going through testing to validate that this was an actual issue, I did get the "incoming text message" bubble notification and from there, I clicked on Menu (from the home page) and was able to view the text messages - so they're somewhere in my phone, just not in the inbox - anyone have any idea where I can look?
*bump*
I'm having this problem now. Ever find the fix?

mail notification always shows new unread messages

PLease help my home plugin always shows that I have 2 unread mails even there isn't one.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=281109&highlight=fixunreadcount
thank but that did not work for me my home plugin still says it has 2 unread messages
I think I had the same problem when I had to hardrest my phone.. What it was was some welcome messages that were stored in there.. I dont remember where... so go through each of your accounts that you have and see if theres any hidden in places that it shouldnt be..even in your outbox or sent messages or something.
