Uisng Pocket PC as Writting Pad for Desktop - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

Hi there,
Anyone aware of any program that allows me to use my Hermes as a writting pad for desktop? This will help making drawings and taking notes easy as i do not need to but an additional hardware to do it.
Thanks!

hi
do a google for some opensource called "Pebbles PPC" its a package of many ppc tools that allows you to control a PC. they have a sub package called scribble which makes your pda as a drawing pad.

Need to display actual PDA screen on attached PC - ideas??

I'm a .NET server-side developer who's 100% new to PDA programming. I know the various SDKs exist but I haven't downloaded them or their associated emulators. I've skimmed the MS docs, but I haven't played with them to see what they can really do.
I'm looking for the sort-of opposite of an emulator.
We have PDA-connected software that we're demo-ing at a tradeshow. But the real demo is of the server-side stuff we've built; the PDA is essentially a dumb terminal using only its built-in browser & Outlook.
We need to run the demo on the real PDA but have the results visible to a large audience. So the goal is to somehow make the PDA's screen appear on our VGA projector that'll spray the image on the large screen behind the presenter.
Right now our first-cut plan is to have the PDA connected to a PC via the sync cradle. Then all we need is some software on either the PC or the PDA that'll drag the real-time screen image to the PC.
Does anyone know of such a program?
In the alternative, do the MS SDK emulators include the full functionality of a typical PDA, such as browser & Outlook so I can simply use the emulator and the PC's network connection to simulate the browser/Outlook & over-the-air connectivity, with no real PDA in the demo? The demo doesn't need any telephony capability, just TCP/IP connectivity.
If the emulators do have that capability, which one(s) do I need? There are a bunch of SDKs and emulators available & I don't really have time to grab them all and uninstall - reinstall hunting for the right one. We're looking for something that's American-market compatible and we don't much care which specific hardware device(s) it's emulating.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'll return the favor somehow.
hi,
if you need to show the PDA acreen on your PC monitor then you can use aprogram called PPC controller.
it even anables you to control the PDA from the PC.
http://www.soti.net/
hope thats what you are looking for.
Thanks, that was EXACTLY what I was looking for.
It'll also be a big hit around here for a bunch of other uses. All that and inexpensive as well.
Thanks again, and the next time you have some server-side .NET headscratcher, send me a note. I owe you one.
Another option is the free powertoy for PocketPC MS Remote Desktop Control and Activesync.
If the device has Bluetooth like the XDA2 then you can ActiveSync using Bluetooth and the presenter can wander within about 10 meters of the PC with the bluetooth connection and teh projector.

Try Microsoft Remote Display Control from this web link - but like with most applications you'll need to install it and run it on the Exec before you can connect to it so this may not be of much use...
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/wce/downloads/ppctoys.mspx#ELD
Start the "Remote Display Control Host" on your PC
Then on my Exec the key combination get this running once installed is:
Windows key->P (Open start menu and get to programs listing)
C then right arrow twice (Program is called "cerdisp" so on mine it's the 3rd application who's name starts with C, the first 2 being Calculator and Camera)
Enter then OK (Start the application and bypass the Microsoft copyright message)
C and then Enter (Connect and then accept the default hostname assuming you are using ActiveSync)
I hope this helps!

p.s. In my experience if you are using 640x480 this application only works in landscape. Not entirely sure why.
You want Pocket Controller from SOTI.
I use it at work - makes it easier to reply to texts - looks like I'm working while I'm actually arranging which pub to meet at that evening after work
That microsoft one is slick. Thanks!!! I have a wizard but this thread had recent activity so i checked it out. nice little app!!!.

URGENT HELP! Remote Display Hack

I have pda2k... and it broke the display... i only see a white light with some cracks.
I've used Remote Display Control For Pocket PC (http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/wce/downloads/ppctoys.mspx) in the past, to view and use my pda thru the Desktop computer. Now that I can't use the screen of my pda, i need to access it thru Remote Display software (or similar) the problem is that the program doesn't start right away, it needs some stylus clicks to choose connetion info , Host name and stuff(I use it all on default), since i cant see nothing on screen, I can start the aplication (put it on start up) but can't seem to connect 'cause i dont know here to click with the stylus, ou what keys to press on the pad.
Question: is it possible that one of you could tweak the Remote Desktop aplication to connect right away with no key/styluspress need?
It would save my life/data
May Thanks in advance!!!

use soti
hi
u can use soti pocket controller
Worst case you can use the remote tools that come with visual studio or evc. This doesn't require any clicks, but only gives you static screenshots - but requires no installation on the remote device...
Once you can see the screen, install a proper remote control app.

Emulator for TYTN via Desktop

I have checked the forum anything that resembled what I am looking for ? If I am even looking for the right thing; I am looking for software that would allow me control my TyTN from my desktop; something to the effect of a screen emulator that would allow to make changes to contacts and save them to the phone and do some cleaning up of files etc. and also would make it possible to clean up stuff that is on the SIM card.
Any help would be great !
Thanks

There is a client from Microsoft that allows you to do called Remote Display Control.

Hi.
There is a product from SOTI called Pocket Controller Professional. It
emulates the TyTn on the desktop, and allows also to use the clipboard to
copy text (like the long registration codes).
It's only drawback is the price: some 26 $!
