Video ringtones on Universal? - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro General

Hi there!
Is there any program, or solution to play video ringtone or flash animation on PPCs when get an incoming call?
I've searched everywhere on the internet for it but I only found programs for symbian S60 phones

up, please!!!

Vringo, go to the homepage, you will need to give your phone number and you have to download the videoringtones

Have you actually tried it? Don't see Vringo supporting Universal or anything similar.

Neither do I...

8525 att/cingular rom update

Hello all,
I recently upgraded my 8525 to the new rom provided by att/cingular (actually it is provided through htc's website, I found the link through cingular) I have some questions and was wondering if anyone can help.
The rom update doesn't give you wm6, it is still 5. It does enable the push to talk feature, and rebrands the phone as att instead of cingular. It also enables "cingular video," which is a streaming video service through att/cingular.
Now with the newer rom there is a horribly loud start up sound. It sounds like an airplane is taking off! Every time I soft reset the phone it plays this loud sound, even if my phone is on silent or on flight mode. This sound was not there before I upgraded the rom. I went into the folder where the sound is stored and tried to delete it, it will not let me. When I right click on it, the delete option is grayed out! The file is just a windows media sound, it is stored under the windows folder, and is named "3G_Up." I even tried to do it through the phone explorer on active sync, still won't let me delete it.
I am wondering if anyone knows a way to delete the file or somehow disable the start up sound. I have looked at all settings and don’t see any for start up sound.
I am also wondering this: I assume flashing a cooked rom will eliminate the cingular startup sound. If I flash a cooked rom onto my phone, will I be able to use the “push to talk” and the “cingular video?” Neither of these worked with the original rom. The “cingular video” is just a bookmark, and I tried sending a link from my phone with newer rom to an 8525 with the older rom, and it would not load. On 8525's with older roms when you push the push to talk button, it says "the ptt service is not yet available on your device."
I am assuming I have to choose between a cooked rom with no cingular video and ptt, or just live with the start up sound. If anyone knows any other way, I would just be thrilled
Thanks,
Jon

Qtek Problem and a noob question!

Hi guys! I have recently bought a Qtek S200 device. When i wanna register on Qtek website for updates and etc. it says ur IMEI is wrong! I noticed that the code I get from mobile has an extra "00" in the end while the one printed on the box is a normal IMEI. does anybody have a clue?!
And i also wanted to know how can i personalize my SMS Alert tone?
tnx!
Q2) Settings -> Personal -> Sounds and Notifications -> Notifications -> Select text messaging in drop down list and change tune.
U see ... I wanna use my own tones. But i don't know where to copy them in order to appear in sound and notifications.
nobody to help?
you have to put the file in mydevice/windows folder in WAV format. and in notification apear the tone
Newbie
Hi Guys,
I'm new at this. I bought a QTEK S200 and as far as i read this foruns is the same as HTC Prophet.
Basically my problem is that i've got a 4GB SDHC but when i go to the storage she doesn't detect it. Is there any capacity limitation?
The reader is working because when is on stand-by and i put the SD it turns on the light, i think this means she's detecting something.
Thanks in advance for any info about it.
As far as i know the Prophet doesn't have the drivers for a SDHC. Only a regular SD card will work.
hi guys!
is there no way to use a .mp3 or .mid file as SMS notification? [i mean anything except .wav]
Some roms do, some dont. Youll have to look into it. Its not too difficult to convert an mp3 to wav though.
Windows - http://www.dirfile.com/wav_to_mp3_encoder.htm
Mac - use Toast or VLC player
cymru thanks man! I have another dumb question to ask!
It's that I've already unistalled a game but it is still in my Programs list. How can I remove it?! It bothers me so much!!!
nobody?!!!!
u go to windows folder, then start_menu folder, then programs (i guess) or games folder and there u delete the link.
wow i am so proud of myslef.... i answered someone elses question
u r amazing gdevil thanks! I searched all registry last night but i couldn't find anything!

Just a Quick Question

I'm not sure where to post this. But I wanted to know have anyone ever found out if we have the capability to put a long ring tone for a text and able to press a button to stop it? If im not clear let me know
thanks
i've noticed the same thing. i can send a response text before the 'new text message' sound stops playing. very irritating, and i cannot find anything about it, either.
you have no idea how Ive looked for a solution for this... I finnally settled for short ringtones for sms... If you have NERO 6 ULTRA EDITION ON YOUR PC and use the NERO WAVE EDITOR APP, or even windows movie maker, it's possible to "cut" audio files and save it on .wav format, its the only solution I have found for this
Thank you both. Its only with windows mobile phones too. but I guess I'll have to stay with the short ringtones

This is what I use for 3gp (I just couldn't get a working 3gp from SuperC)
Just tried it on my i900 and it works for the existing videos but when I attempt to use of my own that I have edited to 30seconds or less (tried 30 and 18) it doesn't pick up the file at all?
I then went to upload file, wondering if I can upload it then download it (just out of curiosity) it was saying file size to large.
Not sure if or where I am going wrong, any advice?
Hi,
At Vringo.com I found a great selection of video ringtones from TV shows, movies, and bands.. It's also a great mobile video sharing site which allows to find and create video ringtones and then share them with our friends.

Hmmm.... Looks like all your contacts have to be registered on Vringo too to get this feature.
If I'm wrong, let me know. I haven't found a way to just add buddies any other way.
you can try it

Midomi - song detection for diamond?

Hi, my friend just got his Samsung Omnia few days ago, and he was showing me a program called Midomi, he put the software on, put his phone next to the radio and after few seconds there was text on the screen - the artist and the song! I didn't even know that sound detection is so advanced that the software can recognize a song from few seconds of hearing it.
i tried to search the web for a install file but couldn't find one, so i was thinking is there anyway to get it work on diamond, since omnia uses wm too and i think that the software doesn't need any superhardware to recognize the music, just a regular cellphone's mic.
im sorry if i put this message to a wrong place, and thanks in advance for any info you might have.
there was a program on here the other day that did the
same thing.dont remember the name but its here if you search.
damn i can't find it... please, anyone... im so lonely, help me

Marty
hi!
i'm very interested in music recognition, too. untill now, i've been using musicid, which is quite good. but the only problem is you need an internet conection (wifi, gprs, 3g...) to get a recognition. what i'm dreaming of is a music recognition software, which can record the song to identify, and then LATER identifiy it.
example: you're driving in your car and you're listening to your favorite radio station. you don't have a data plan, so you're not online.
now they're playing a cool song. you just might start the music recognition software, record a few seconds. later, when you're home again, you connect your phone to wifi and let the software identify the recorded song over internet.
musicid can't do this. what about midomi? or do you know another software capable of this?
thanks and have a nice day
Why not just use the built in recorder then play it back when you get access to the net

hmm, sounds a bit uncomfortable, but i'll give it a try when i'm at home.
Hi Mr Pink, I can confirm that Midomi works brilliantly on my HTC Touch Diamond (HTC WWE 2.03 rom) using Wi-Fi internet access.
Try my version on my signature.
No need to modify the registry for HSPA/3G/GPRS.
You can install on Device/Storage Card/Internal Storage/RAMdisk as your choice.
