O2 Exec SSH Client

Hi,
I'm a webmaster and just bought my O2 Exec today and am so far very happy with my new toy! My main reason for buying this is so that in emergency situations wherever I am I can fix my servers which receive 10,000's of viewers per hour.
Can anyone recommend a good SSH client for my O2 Exec similar to putty on the PC?
Thanks,
Paul
O2 XDA EXEC SSH Client
Go for Pocket Putty http://www.duxy.net/~aleq/PocketPuTTY/PocketPuTTY_v0.1-preapha-0.53b.zip
is that one workin on wm5?
Tried that last night, programme loads but there is no ok button to connect to server. Also there was no way to specify a custom ssh port.
Any ideas what to do?
PocketPutty is working on WM5 however custom ssh port is not supported, also there is a lot of problems with emulation. So far I was unable to find working ssh client for PDA.
I use PocketPutty on my MDA Pro (HTC Universal) and I have no problems with it.
when the question comes where you need to tap on ok, just press enter on the builtin keyboard.
I would like to change the font used by PPutty, as the vga screen can show much more information thus making directory listings etc. much better readable.
Can you use custom ssh ports? All my servers use custom ports for security reasons.
No, I use standard ssh Port. too bad that the source code is not open source or I would change it myself
Tried on my Dpod 900 but failed to login.
vijay port a new wm5 version thanks =?)
Hopefully sometime soon putty will be converted to wm5 with custom ssh port support.
Hi Supafly
I do similar stuff to you and there are lots of products out there that just do not work. I need ping, ftp, tracrt, telnet, SNMP, Packet sniffer . But instead of supporting web servers I support Telecoms VOIP network with 24/7 cover.
The best for these that support ozVGA are the Cambridge products. Even though I gather they were built 6 years ago they just work without any problems at all on the universal. Some have been ported to PPC 2003. The telnet client is good in ozVGA as you get a full screen that can show the entire screen from most telnet apps.
Here is the link http://www.cam.com/windowsce.html
I did try pocket putty first but did not have much sucess with it. If any one has a better suite of products that work well I am all ears.

http://www.dejavusoftware.com/pocketty/ works well for me, it can run in VGA with any of the VGA hacks, and lets you choose any font you have as well as screen width/height. It also does all the encryption stuff properly, that a lot of clients dont bother with. Port tunneling etc too.
The screen sometimes goes half size, but you can fix that by opening and closing the onscreen keyboard.
Courier new with font size 6 gets you the full terminal window on your screen, and its readable nicely in VGA mode.

That pocketty program supports custom ports as well.

Video Cam

Hi,
Is there any way to use the video cam on the tytn.. if you do not have access to 3g or gprs? is there any way to get this working over a wireless connection?
Is there any other software that will enable its use in anything other than a video call. At the moment for me its a bit useless!
Thanks
Webcamera Plus from Ateksoft lets you use either camera as a webcam (with a wifi or USB connection to a PC).

but does this software alow u to use the hermes on msn messenger as a webcam?
msn and skype and........
yes you can, but only from pc.
One missed thing is to use msn + cam directly with the pda (without pc support)
I hope there are commercial reasons, because video calls can be unuseless if you can videocall via mobile messenger.
That would require someone to write a version of Messenger for the PPC that supported video calling, though. Unlikely that anyone except MS would do that, as I don't even know of any 3rd party PC clients that support it fully.
As someone mentioned in another thread, MS Portrait supports video calling - that might be some use.
Here's the situation so far.. I have the software mentioned above, and I can use the Tytn as a webcam, but the problem is that it only shows up in the window on the desktop that one has to open using the software.
I can't get the image to show up on MSN messenger instead..
Is there something that I am missing??
A few people have had this issue. Uninstall/reinstall/reboot worked for me, then you select the source in the webcam setup part of Messenger.

WiFi Software

Hi, ive got a wizard and was wondering what software i can use to connect to different wireless networks like odyssey client but freeware or not very expensive.
Thanks,
Kurt
There is an app called Hitchhiker (just google), its free and easy but you need to install .NET CF 2 (check MS website).
You can use devicescape at www.devicescape.com which automatically connects you to most hotspots and allows you to share your home networks with buddies.

Streaming Media on a HTC 730 Smartphone; User athentication?

Hi,
I am not sure if any one can help me but I am trying to access my Web cam in my home from my mobile.
I have a wireless router at home and a wireless web cam. I managed to open ports so that I can access the cam outside my LAN, via IE from a laptop. I although need to authenticate my self to access the cam then. (The cam's userid and pwd.)
This is OK!
But now I am also trying to access the camera from my mobile (Which is suppose to work accoridng to the mfg.)
So I tried with the "Streaming Media" for the HTC but I get an error message:
Server request client to disconnect from the network!
This is I assume becuase I need to authenticate my self????? but does the streaming media have this option?
So question is:
1.Does rtsp also requires authentication and if yes can I enable it in the streaming medai?
2. What other software for a SMARTPHONE could be used which allows authentication?
Thanks for any help
/Martin from Sweden!
Welcome to forums
Universal does not means all the devices
In fact is a model!!
Please look for Vox smartphone section
Good luck,
