Stupid Cingular DST .CAB

Ok, im using my TyTN, running the Vanilla WM6. I get a Email from my work(saying it detects im using their exchange server to get my work email on my WM5 device and i will need a upgrade for Daylight Savings Time) so i never got to download the .CAB in my work email, the link is now dead.
I then got a text from Cingular saying i need a Daylight Savings Time upgrade and to go to Cingular.com/DST2007. so i went and followed the instructions and downloaded and installed the .CAB and restarted. Now my "G" icon at the top has changed to the WiFi icon. I do not like this and am not in a 3G spot at the moment so i dont know what icon is there in that case. Either way, i dont like this icon, i liked the G and 3G icons included in the Vanilla WM6. Who wants to help me get them back?

That icon appeared on my Tytn yesterday for several hours, then suddenly dissapeared. I never applied the update.

I don't believe that this is because of the update. Its the ROM. This vanilla rom was hacked up. This is why Lyphur is using his version for .2 which will be out tonight

try enabling wifi then turning it back off...works for me! it does that randomly when i reset

It has been asked here and there over this forum, but this is the main area, so its better to ask here...
Any way we can get the rom to extract a cab or something? I dont think its hardware dependent, so it should work on our machines...
Anybody...?
PS: I think the iphone came and slap M$ and all the ppc makers right on the face with its 200mhz machines since 2003 and 64/128 low ram micro upgrades...
Now these great plugins start showing up here and there and machines suddently have 4 gb of rom, finally some long-awaited REAL upgrades!

I wonder if the rotation animations can be ported i mean even though you may not have a accelerometer it my still hide the usual lag.

Actually I was refering only to the gadgets...
The diamond album was easily re-used by other htc's, but you couldnt turn the images because you had no accelarometer, it worked fine without anyway...

Screen position since flashing 1.48

Since flashing the new 1.48 wwe rom my home screen position is now about 3mm to high, which reveals the lock screen wallpaper underneath.
I`ve posted some pics to show it....

Which can be seen still showing in the bottom part of my home screen
In the image below you can see the Settings text is to high...
Its as if the manilla screen is to high position.
I have tried a hard reset but it comes back the same.
I can use the same background for both wallpapers but the text is still to high.
Can anybody shed some light on this problem
This also happens with the HTC bundled wallpapers...

Any reason why it does this...

You need to install version 1.0.1b, because the one you had was for newer builds of Windows Mobile and applies the so-called "position fix". These newer builds have different sizez of the top and bottom bars. Alternatively, you can leave the version you have but change the registry to cancel this position fix. See the Showcase thread to learn how to do it.

Or you can install 1.1.0 and edit the registry to:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\e-Natives Technology\Showcase]
"SUITE_NewTaskbarSize" to 52.
"SUITE_PositionFix_WinClasses" delete the value "Manila;RESCO_EXPLORER_CLASS", so this string will be empty.

How to get rid of time/batt under 6.5.5 ?

do anyone know a trick/soft that can be used to get rid of the time and battery icon on the top bar in 6.5.5 rom?
I use touchlockpro / batclock so need to get rid of it. See attached image.

I see you use BattClock, so you must only change X,Y coordinates to set place you want to view.
Open Battconfig from start menu, then select 2nd possition in menu and set all like in this screen:

If you want horizontal just check this option below where in my screen is "Uklad poziomy" and increase "W".

still no fix for this ? A guy calles Vins or Vinsos claimed he had a solution, but he has gone off the radar screen...

Is this a problem?

I just got this tablet recently, not too much surprise since i am already user android 2.2 rom on x10
But i notice there is time where this tablet fail to respond to touch command say after a long timeout. As in i can't move the bubble to unlock the screen at all
I tried to turn it off and the pop up wasn't even responsive at all to touch.
Is this a failure on my tab alone or anyone else have the same problem ?
Also it is common for the tablet to have a slow respond to screen switch and rotate a lot ? I found my tablet go portrait mode even lie down (i want it to be landscape).

please indicate what version you are running and what kernel.

No, I havn't had any issues and if you want to be landscape use the rotation lock switch, it's beside the volume butons.

Sorry, had to.... anyway, if you are running 3.0 and not 3.1 it could be the "Removal from Charger" issue and causes it to lock up? I dunno, like the others said, what is your current version?
