Keep backlight on when in call - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

Hi,
I would like the MDA to keep the backlight on when I am on a phone call. That way, if I have to press a key on the keypad, I dont have to use the power button to bring the backlight back on and then press the key on a the keypad.
Any ideas/reg fixes etc?
Thanks.

Backlight button don't switch backlight off

I use the MDA Pro.
On the right side of the IR-port is a button to switch backlight on/off.
I can only manage to switch backlight off. What about you?
Is there a chance to give this button a more usefull function?
Btw. the button right of the camera button has assigned two funktions (press/keep pressed). Can this multifunction be added to other buttons?
yes that's what happens with my one too - i hope there will be chance to change the function - atm this button is pretty useless.
About one week after my post I use the button very often.
Mostly because the Universal does not switch "on" when I open the lid.

software to lock keys during call?

Is there a software that will lock my keys and buttons including the ones on the side during a call? I'm always inadvertently hitting or pressing some button during a call.
Just press the power button to turn the display off which in turns locks the keys. you have to press the power button again to turn the display back on
thanks but i'm not looking to turn the phone OFF, i need to not have the buttons active during a phone call when the phone is ON.
I oftentimes accidentally press some button or another when I get a phone call. When I used to have a Treo 700wx there was a feature to lock all buttons during a phonecall. I'm looking for that functionality here as well.
I also had a Treo, but I don't find the need for the key lock anymore on my XV6800. I don't think I've ever accidentally pushed a button during a call.

Disable Red/Green Keys when Screen is off ?

Hi there,
Is there a regkey to make sure the virtual buttons wont work when the screen is off ?
Example : I'm in a call, I press power to turn off the screen, but the device in my pocket...
Currently : if it press accidently the Red key... It hang the call. (baaaad)
Ideally : it wouldnt do anything except if I press again Power.
Any idea?
I think that 'aebutton plus' will do what you want...
Anyone has a better idea/tip ?
I tried S2U2 (Slide 2 Unlock 2) for this but it does not lock the buttons during a call. Maybe TouchLockPro??
I solved the problem with AEButtons Plus.
I set the red and green button to doubleclick, which works fine.
In S2U2 you can disable the two buttons as well.
Just look for the S2A Answer/End Keys in S2U2 Config
Thanks Tavos, I'm still not sold with "Why they changed this behavior..." (at least my TyTN II did it right... no power button, no accident )

Re assign power button

Hi I have a problem. My diamonds power button is very hit and miss because of wear and tear. Is there a way for the backlight to come on when it is idle e.g. when you pull out the stylus. Is there a way whereby I could re assign the backlight to come on, onto another hard key e.g. the home or back key?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks,
Click to collapse
You can try mapping it with this program.
I haven't tested on power button though.
Although it would work if I map the 'END' button to "screen power toggle". I also lost the End funtion....
Do you guys use two hands to turn on the screen everytime you use? I was so used to My Treo Pro that I can use the END key to turn on the screen...
Thanks,
First, there's a never version of keyboardcontrol.
Second, you have to set end key normal standard and e.g. longpress to turn on.
