Hi,
Since this morning, for some reason, the Widcomm Stack Development thread only shows 2 pages (there're 105+ posts). Can you please check?
Thanks.
Michael
i can confirm i can see the other pages!
Strange. It was OK for me even last night. Only this morning, I could only see 2 page counts. Even if I deliberately change the URL to page=6, it would only show me page 1. I thought it was a problem with the forum engine... May be it's my computer...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1070173&page=6 to no avail...
Solved! It's the forum's Display Mode that is not working correctly. I started using Hybrid mode and it could only show me two pages. When I switched back to Linear Mode, I can see everything now!

Hi All
I have searched on the forums for a bit of advice on this issue, and it seems to be a WM6 problem (some comments on other xda-dev device-specific forums but none i could find on the shift).
Every so often, my shift decides not to recognise my password, and therefore i need a hard reset. Not good after i spent all the time liberating it! This has happened twice now.
On xda-dev forums for other devices, they suggest you hold the 'on-off button' for 10 seconds after setting the p/w the first time, which will work around the problem. Unfortunately, the shift doesn't have such a button for the snapvue bit.
This seems to be a WM6 issue, which is made worse for the shift given the above issues (losing liberation, no on-off workaround).
Does anyone encounter this on their shift as well? I am surprised not to see it on the forum, so i hope i didn't miss anything. By the way, the solution 'don't use password' is no good for me, since to sync with my work server i must use one - and it comes on every 15 mins maximum without use!
I am intrigued also because i have a new HTC touch dual, and this p/w problem does not happen at all?
Odd. Any thoughts? Thanks all,
Nick
Anyone there
Hi all
sorry to bump this up, but I am just wondering whether the lack of replies since I posted this the night before I went on a job for a week is because of:
a) i am the only one who experiences this and thus noone knows how to fix it
b) anyone who does know has already posted to another thread i cant find?
Sorry to bug, just wondering.
Cheers, Nick
Never had this issue in any wm6 device.

Same here..
Just an odd thought, are you using a long password? WinMo really only likes a 4 digit numerical PIN for password as it is a system originally designed for PDA's and enhanced for mobile phone use. Hence unlock via keypad.
Thanks
Hi guys
thanks for that, no i am using a 4 digit password.
Interesting, it seems to have stopped since i wrote the first post, have taken it away on 2 major work trips and it's all good. However, i have not liberated it again yet. I think i am going to re-liberate it and see whether the issue happens again.
There are definitely postings on some of the other forums here on xda-dev, so it is a known issue, but maybe i am just unlucky....

After many many frustrating days, I have narrowed down a VERY ANNOYING issue with the otherwise BEAUTIFUL S2U2.
If the device is locked for more than 5 minutes, the connection to my bluetooth headset is lost...not just lost, but my phone doesnt even bother to look for it. I have to go through discovery again. Then the process starts all over again...after 5 min...its toast.
I have tried all versions of SU2U all the way up to 1.22. On an HTC PPC6800 (Alltel) running WM 6.0 (6.1 has been delayed by Alltel's cell group)
As soon as I take the SU2U off the phone..it works like a charm.
Any thoughts (or sob stories) would be helpfull
what bluetooth headset are you using?
Hi,
You are going to get a kicking for this. It would have ben best if you had posted in the original thread and/or kept an eye on what the general consensus on posting threads is.
Forum members are trying to reduce the number of new threads posted in order to improve the search facility and to stop clutter.
As for the answer to your question, not a clue. Sorry.

In the OP's defense, have you seen how big that thread is? It is damn near impossible to get a question answered in there unless a lot of people have the same issues.

So ask in the "Questions" thread.........
Is a user supposed to post a new thread for every question because the original is a bit too large?
Either way, all S2U2 does is prevent screen taps and turns the display off, it does not interfere with the bluetooth connections.

First: What is SU2U?
Second: Do you know which program manages your bluetooth headset and which is using it? Making that difference makes your question easier. Think in terms like what program do i use to connect my bluetooth headset.
Third: Search, search and search. If that is not enough, search more. There are many threads where bluetooth and headseats are discussed. Come back with information from those threads so we do not have to give the same information over and over again. Besides that, doing your own research narrows your problem
I'm not sure if you have tried this...
in the S2U2 settings, in the Advanced: section (bottom part)
set "Dont Suspend Power" to ON.

Hi,
First of all, sorry for my English
Recently I found problem with my WiFi device in Blackstone.
2 days ago, when my WiFi worked fine, I could check e-mails, download stock and weather info... After I flash with new EnergyROM (with Manila 2.1) and do HR twice, my WiFi doesn't start.
Here's a couple of my posts posted in EnergyROM thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4627019&postcount=4879
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4627467&postcount=4882
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4631281&postcount=4892
WTF? It seem to be problem with device, not with software, beacouse every time when I try to start WiFi (in Comm. Manager, Action Scrn, via Win) it tryes to start and nothing happens...
Right now I have flashed to eXperience 6.5 ROM with Manila 2.5 (link in my signature), and still can't turn on my WiFi
A small preview is attached to this post.
Please help me...
Could someone help me? Anyone...???
If you do a search on here you'll see several threads with the same problem - it appears to be an established hardware fault as the people who've sent their handsets back have had the boards changed by htc. Sometimes it appears the same time as a camera fault, but it does not seem to be related to the ROM and there's no software-based fix - when it be dead, it be dead.
It's possible (only a guess) that your flashed ROM was set to use high-performance wifi, and that pushed a bad batch of circuitry too far.
Than You.
You're right. Device fault... HTC changed WiFi module and sent back my device. Now all works fine.
Thread can be closed.
Hi people This is my first post in the forum ... So hopefully my question is well placed. I previously searched this forum for an answer, and since I did not find one, Maybe my question is an interesting /valid one:
I have bought my nook colour 4 days ago. I rooted it and then installed Cyanogen Mods ... I am currently using the latest nightly with overclock kernel (1300 Mhz). I tested also older nighties (started with 64).
I press the Bluetooth softbutton, it keeps in "dark green" for some seconds and then turns off.
I go to configuration ,and turn on Bluetooth in the network options, it says "Activating" for a while, and then it goes back to inactive.
I tought that this was a solved issue and our nooks had their bluetooth working may be that my nook is too new, and b&n took the bluetooth module away ?
Regards,
Enrique
I have just bought a nook as well and this happened to me. after searching the forums I found a couple of suggestions and what worked for me was the hard power off method.
Basically just hold the power button down till the nook turns off, then turn it back on.
After it fully starts up immediately try to turn bt on. For mine, it worked right away and I just always leave bt turned on.
It worked - at least kinda of...
Hi n3cr0tic!
Thanks for the tip ... it successfully turned on the bluetooth. Now the thing is that I can see my phone, but apparently the nook does not expose any service at all (like "file transfer" for example) nor can see the services that my phone readily offers.
On the distance side, I would say that it discovered my phone up to two meters away ...
any further help is appreciated ... I am new to android itself, so it is most probably something pretty obvious I am missing, like for instance installing "the bluetooth services daemon" or similar ... I will search around...
Regards,
Enrique
Similar problem can't find the answer
I used Manual Nooter on my Version 2.2 Nook and I can't find any Bluetooth settings at all. I go to NookColor Settings on Zeam Launcher and there is no option for Bluetooth anywhere. I went through all the settings and NONE of them have anything that says bluetooth. I've tried searching the forum but most of the threads I've seen don't seem to have this problem.
Thanks for your help.

Blue tooth for now is avaliable in Cm7 only. I have not read any threads supporting stock rooted.
I don't have enough posts to post in the thread... but I wanted to say its awesome, but the back light setting for the capacitive buttons is not working. Also camera still crashes if you refocus too quickly. Reboot is required to get it back.

And that's why you're not allowed to post yet. Both are known, it's being worked on (the camera is a CM9 issue, but Task may fix it first, and if you don't touch to focus while it's focusing, it won't freeze). The backlight problem has been reported so many times it's not funny, so before you get 10 posts I STRONGLY recommend you spend some time reading the forums, and learning how to search effectively (hint: use google search and use XDA as one of the search terms).
Then your first experience won't be the flame-tastic one it would be otherwise.
I'm in kinda the same boat as you although I've done quite a bit of snooping on the forums and in the thread and have not found any answers to my issues. Just to get the formalities out of the way, yes I did a full wipe, and I've wiped each time I've flashed an update to the ROM. These issues have been present on each iteration of the ROM thus far, and was not present on stock.
Issue #1 - Notification LED stops working correctly if device is sleeping, the color works fine and will blink on the correct times to start but after a few blinks it either will go solid or stop blinking period.
Issue #2 - While listening to Google Music or local music with the screen off notifications cause the volume of the music to drop but then not return to the level it was at previous to the notification until you hit the volume rocker.
I don't have time to read through the entire 150 pages of threads. I was aware that it had been a problem, but the latest build was just released right before I posted that. I did not see anyone discuss them since the new post. But thank you.
