Soon be getting my new Wizard! But, is there a way to transfer all of my texts from my Samsung mobile phone to the Wizard? I have some saved to the SIM and some to the phone memory.
Many Thanks
You may try Jeyo' SMS companion. Not sure if it transfers but can take a backup of sms.

Hello,
sometimes, in a "rough environment", I use my old Nokia 6110 instead of MDA2. Is there any way how to get the SMS messages received in the Nokia (and supposedly stored on the SIM) from the SIM to the MDA2 ?
Thanks a lot for an advice !!

i've never heard about phones being able to store sms's on the sim
pretty sure that all i've heard about use the phone for that
so if moving the sim from a phone which supposed to support it
and putting in another which also is suppsed to support it would prove if it does or dont
if only one brand of phones support it at all i doubt it's a feature which many people long too much for on the any other brand of phone or pda out there
Rudegar: SIMS normally come with space for up to 20 SMS messages.
Some phones will store them locally, the good-old-fashioned way is SIM based.
xvylp01: The only way that I know to transfer them is via a PC - Nokia
PC Suite to get them there and activesync back again. Of course, they
will then no longer be SMS messaes, but you should be able to save them
as notes, or similar, so that you can access them
Cheers,
Dave.
hi, ever since i bought my qtek 2020, i realize that i cannot access my messages stored on my sim card, unless i put my sim in another phone. in fact, there's no way to know that there are any messages stored on the sim. i have gone through several hard resets, and even a rom upgrade, but problem still persists, please help
mani
i'm pretty sure it's not supported by 2003 phone edition
not sure if they have plans to make support for it ever
not even sure if the ms smartphones support it
well,
then can you suggest a way to transfer them to my qtek 2020 inbox?
well you could put the sim in another phone and forward sms them to your self and recieve them on your xda with the sim in
I upgraded from windows mobile 5 to 6 (t-mobile upgrade), and while everything seems to be working fine, when I received a message, I got a popup saying sim memory full, or something like that. In the sim manager it same sms storage capacity is 20, but why would the sim be even storing my sms? It wasn't the case before, I had loads in there with no trouble. Deleted all messages for now, but does anyone have an idea how I can change this?
very weird man, i just checked all the options of mobile trying to find if there is a setting or so, sorry couldnt help.....
Bizarrely enough, after I deleted all the messages, all the new ones I received were stored on the phone as they should. It seems that the upgrade transferred existing messages to the sim, but after that it went back to normal. Oh well.
Hi everyone, I was wondering if there is any way that I can back up all of my sim contacts to my computer (preferably to an Excel sheet). I want to save all of my phone numbers from the SIM card just in case I ever lose my phone.
Thank you very much.
There should be something with activesync, but im nto really into using it. What i do is i backup all my info with PIM and keep a copy on my PC as well as on my MicroSD card. ATM I cant think of a direct way but i believe there is. ActiveSync will probably have a backup option
ActiveSync only backs up stuff that is stored on the phone, not on the SIM card.
Anything else that i can use?
Well you could transfer your contacts from the SIM to the phone.
I've used software called Jeyo mobile extender and companion that works.
I bought a sim card reader for about 12 bucks at micro center. you can edit and save them to your pc. plugs right into a usb port. hope that helps.
The magical problem on the TPT SMS. Need Help!
I have a WCDMA SIM card on the TPT inside with no problem, receive and send SMS are fine.
Until a few days before, SMS can not receive, but send SMS and internet still fine.
I try put this SIM on my android phone with no problem, receive and send SMS at all.
And I try Other SIM card card on TPT also receive and send SMS fine.
Only the sim card i have put on my TPT can't not receive SMS. That weird.
Perhaps this about root, but I can not imagine what the problem is?
which app are you using to send the SMS's?
I’ve wanted to do a “twin-sim” thing with my provider- but have avoided it so far because the lead sim (and only one that gets to surf- which is what I want to tablet to do) is the one that gets sms's... which I thought the TPT could receive....
Clue me in...
Which app?
