Asking for guide on buying X01HT - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

Hello there.
I am planning to buy a phone X01HT from Softbank but can't decide which plan should I get. For all X01HT holders there, especially those who resides in Japan too, I'd like to ask some guide about getting the phone. For which plan can I save more in a long run. And also, is it possible to get a new plan even though I'm already a subscriber of Vodafone or do I only need to change plan?
Thanks...

At leats get the illimited internet package
9,800 Yens / month
Expensive, but you'll need it

Will XDA Exec work with tmobile web n walk? tmobile say it wont..

Hi All,
I've just been on to tmobile about getting one of there unlimited internet access jobbies for £15/m.. all sounded great then I mentioned it was an o2 xda handset I was planning on using and they informed me that it wouldn't work.. I said well I'm sure I could just flash the mda rom onto it and it would run and they replied with "Voice and texts will work fine but the internet access will definately not work on a htc handset that that originated from o2" Then she said something about the internet settings are not compatible between the two phones..
Surely this is incorrect??
If anyone can shed any light on this please do! (or if you know of any better deals!)
mate it will work if you enable the tmob rom but i doubt it can work as a 02 for texts and calls & as tmob for web,
maybe your answer is flash rom and twin sim holder so you can flip between the two
as long as the Exec is (sim) unlocked, no problem. In fact, I'm using exactly that setup, with the current O2 ROM. You just need to change the GPRS/UMTS settings to
Access Point: general.t-mobile.uk
and iirc, username, password and domain all blank. If you have any problems, PM me or post here.

My Uni is o2 Exec too, now with T-Mob sim and working on Web'n'Walk fine.
I belive that if your o2 Exec was baught from o2 on line then it arrived unlocked (as mine did); if bought from high street o2, it came sim locked.
Mav
I've had three online (all o2 online business shop), all unlocked. Also, the early high street-bought units were, iirc, unlocked too.
Hmm .. Uh Oh.. Is there anyway to check? I don't have another sim card I can try in it.. Mine was high street bought but it was one of the early ones (or so I believe.. Jan 2006).
Ignore that last post, just done some searching and spotted the unlock tool created by buzz and the team.. great work guys
Is T-Mobile really offering unlimited internet for the total sum of £15 per month? I've had a look on their website and I can't find this offer! Could someone post the link for this offer, sounds too good to be true!
I'm also quite sure I could have been totally oblivious to this offer, so apologies for asking a very obvious question!
Hi there! this offer isn't on there site. I called them and asked what they could do for me ..
sim card only
monthly contract rather than yearly (only tied to 1month each time)
unlimited data (fair use of 3gb/month)
50mins anytime
not bad eh!

I have an o2 xda exec which I bought on Ebay slightly second hand and I am using it on tmobile with a prepay tarrif. All I needed to do was put in the correct settings which I got from here
http://www.manuals.t-mobile.co.uk/start.asp?manual=1217
Just go to the GPRS 3g topic in the 'choose subject box' and they take you through it step by step.
On the prepay tarrif, I get charged a pound for any day when I connect, but there is supposedly no limit during that day. It works great, but maybe I'd be better off at a £15 month tarrif if that's available.
By the way, can I just let people know of this link to google search which reformats all pages for the PDA. It makes a very useful portal:
www.google.com/xhtml
If you don't want to search, but want the pages reformatted for your pda try this one which also works pretty well.
www.google.com/gwt/n?q=
The above url will present you with a box to enter the url you want to visit. After that, all pages will be formatted without frames and made suitable for your screen.

Thanks for your reply! Sounds like a great deal! What number did you ring, and any special tricks for getting them to offer you that deal?
Cheers,
No tricks to get it matey just call them on the number on the website. Cant remember what the number is now and the paper I wrote it on is on my desk in the office. Just ask for the following:
Sim Only, Web and walk unlimited internet tarrif thingy. Make sure they dont try and tie you to a 12 month contract as this is a sim only deal with NO PHONE and thats why its so cheap. Best thing about the deal is that its month to month.. so if you decide you don't want it anymore or they change the terms and conditions you can cancel with no 12 month contract to pay off

Cheers for the info evilv! that will come in handy.. especially the google web reform jobby!
Just to add to this lot, I tried a T Mobile PAYG sim in my O2 XDA-Exec and it works fine connecting to the net with full UMTS speed, max cost per day is £1 capped according to the chaps card we were messing with.
I have also used a contract T Mobile card in the device and simply works - No Sim Lock on the O2 XDA-Exec, so no messing around put the card in, configure the access names etc and away you go - Mike
Cheers mike, can't to get the tmobile simcard now!.. I'll actually have a use for my universal atlast!
o2 beats even that: unlimited data £10/month bolt on for pay monthly
not sure of the fair use limit. see my reply in thread 'best internet plan' or something like that for more details

That's new!
Only thing is, it'd be more expensive than WnW.
I'm on the £15 a month tariff too - it's actually £7.50 a month, minimum term of a month (not a year!) for 50 minutes each month, with the £7.50 unlimited data WnW add-on.
I use my data all the time and have never been pulled - Push Email, constant RSS feed updating, decent amount of pics on downloads, radio streaming, msn messenging, no limits for me.
you just need to request the sim only 30 day contract (can cancel anytime just give 30 day notice) which is £7.50 a month, then simply ass web n walk £7.50 a month, job done! completley normal tarriff no scams or deals

Buying HD2 from Wirefly.com vs T-mobile.com

Let me start by saying I am an existing t-mobile customer. I share a family plan with my brother at 800 shared minutes total. We are currently out of our required 2 year contract and now on a month-to-month contract. We can cancel any time if we wish.
wWe have never used (and don't plan on using) data features or SMS/MMS. We don't require those at all.
We are always on fast wireless internet access at work so WiFi on the HD2 will more than suffice.
In addition, we can text anyone's cellphone via email using (#####@txt.att.net, ####@tmomail.net, ####@vtext.com, etc) and it works like a charm.
My questions:
1) Do t-mobile.com offer the HD2 at $99.99 like wirefly.com?
2) Will they do a price match?
3) Is the data plan really that necessary considering what I do?
4) Can I opt not to have the data plan from either t-mobile.com or wirefly.com?
5) I am an already a t-mobile user. Will I have to pay $199.00?
6) What's stopping me from canceling my current month-to-month plan to start a new 2 plan to get the phone at $99.99?
7) Who's a better deal considering we never use more than 800 minutes each month?
8) We currently enjoy our month-to-month plan and have no problem with it at all! But I really want this phone. Will my brother have to upgrade to a 2 year plan if I upgrade my phone?
Thanks. I really have a lot of questions and if someone can help answer them for me, I'd be greatful! Thankyou!

4) Can I opt not to have the data plan from either t-mobile.com or wirefly.com? No it is required
5) I am an already a t-mobile user. Will I have to pay $199.00? they might charge you as a upgrade, you must talk to a wirefly rep to see if you can get the phone for $99
6) What's stopping me from canceling my current month-to-month plan to start a new 2 plan to get the phone at $99.99? Yourself

HTC HD2 broke, need a replacement.

So my screen went unresponsive over the weekend and I'm going to need a new phone. I have more of a question than anything on upgrading a line on Tmo. I am currently on a family plan with three other lines. My line includes the t-mobile 5.99 tzones internet which I use on every phone I buy now for internet access. My question is if I upgrade a line other than mine, sing up for the required data plan and cancel it the next month and use that phone on my line will T-mobile let me do this. I know "they won't" but if I don't tell them this is what I'm doing will it work? I don't have another $300 dollars to dish out on a new phone trying to avoid signing up for an actual data plan on my line. Any help? Thanks
t-mobile probably won't care; I use an HD2 not from orig plan and get support from them. But if u make the upgrade, won't matter anyway!

French operators?

Hi to all French users here!
Can you help me with choosing operator while I'll be there in July?
I'll have my phone so all I need is to buy prepaid SIM.
Please, suggest me an (cheaper) operator which can give me bigger data pack or, better, flat mobile internet - while prize is not big problem, I still wouldn't like to pay 15-20€ for a month of mobile surf.
Also, where can I buy prepaid SIM-s and do i have to give any documents (passport, for identification).
I found a guide on one blog suggesting to buy a phone with SIM for 39€ but that's a bit too much for me - all I want is, just like everyone including tourists here in Croatia, to buy prepaid SIM+internet plan.
Thanks
My advice for you is to choose SFR (which I use) and the prepaid card is not too expensive, 30 € with a cell phone (not a smartphone)

[Q] Walmart T-Mobile $30 Plan - will it work?

Hi guys,
I am currently in the US, I got a Pay-By-the-Day simcard from T-mobile which I put into my HTC HD2 (European version) and charged it with $30, because I thought it would be enough and that I didn't need a plan. Well, turns out I do, because I used up the $30 in 10 days.
Now, as a T-Mobile customer, I would like to get the Walmart T-Mobile $30, 100 min, unlimited text and data plan. My questions are:
1) Can this be done?
2) Can this be done so that I keep my number?
3) What do I have to do in order to get this plan? Has anyone tried this? Is it enough just to buy this online or do I have to get something else as well?
I really need someone's personal experience with this, as I chatted with two customer service reps online and then called with two different ones and each and every one of them have told me a different thing. None of them, though, said it would be impossible. They just couldn't agree on whether I need to buy an activation kit along with it or not.
Please please help, I have like $1.50 left and need to sort this out quickly
thanks
