I just cannot believe my ears. I have used my Qtek S200 with a SonyEricsson stereo BT headset for months with great results (some occasional drops but very seldom). Today I bought a P3600, paired the headset and guess what? A2DP output is not stereo. I couldn't be more upset!

Hi, do you have any problems with SonyEricsson BT stereo headset? I mean, if you listen to music with player and there is coming a phone call. Does it change from music to phone and automaticaly back to phone?
I have bought a new SE hbh-ds970 and have a few problems with that point. Mostly I have (to listen to music again) to warmstart my P3600.
Any ideas?

I haven't tried yet with the P3600 but answering calls and resuming music used to work with the Qtek S200 and the SE HBH-DS970. I will try and let you know.
One thing I found with my old setup was that when resuming music sometimes the headset volume would be set to 0 and I had to turn up the volume.
----------
PS: I have tried a couple of times now and it seems to be working. It takes a few seconds for the music to resume but it does. I think the trick is to end the call using the headset button, not the phone button.
not only in 3600!!
It looks to be a Mobile 5 feature. I found same reg key in same state pn Eten Glofiish X500. after applying change, x500 also started stereo. I am using SE stereo BT headset and it works for stereo..
May be this is disabled because it may result in bad quality on mono headsets..

Yes I am using the inbuilt windows media player.
I've been checkin' some things in the registry too... and i've found that "Quality" is set to '30'. Somewhere on the Hermes wiki (i think), i've read that this is only medium quality. I saw this list with diffent quality-grades, with '48' mentioned for the 'good' quality.
Does anyone know if it can harm either the headset (Jabra 620s) or the Trinity, or can i safely set it to a higher quality level ?
I stand to be corrected, but the figure of 48 seems be referring to the 'bits-per-second' of an audio stream. Based on this assumption I do not think that any damage could be done.
Hi,
I search for joinstereo in registry but no result. Would you pls post the full path in registry?
Another problem I find with my iclip, I can listen to music. But when I use phone book to dial, it just give a continuous tone. If I dial by numnbers, it works. Any similiar problem for other BT stero headset.
My mono headset has no such problem.

That's correct, should have mentioned it clearer...
It's from the key "BitPool", which is set to 30. But there's also a key called "MaxSupportedBitPool" that's also set to 30.
My actual question would be; can it do any harm if a change the "MaxSupportedBitPool"-key into 48 as well ? Cause that might just be hardware related...

Cannot really say if any damage will be done, but then what damage can be done? You could take a full backup of the device and try changing the two registry settings you mentioned. At the most perhaps no sound will be heard, in which case you can restore the device from the backup taken.

go to hklm\software\oem\voicecommand and set the value of "launchapenable" from 1 to 0
when activating voicedial from your headset (press connect button at the headset 2 sec.) it diverts all audio to the bluetooth.
works also with musik.
pressing the button again it disconnects the bluetooth and the main speakers are active again.
in this case the original voice dial does not work anymore until you change the value back to 1.
for me a good solution because i don't use voice dial and prefer insted skype and headset.
Very good tip...will try that!
Cheers...!
Works on QTEK S100 with Jabra Bt 250 Headsets?
Do you happen to know if the BT specification of the EXEC allows it to transmit stereo audio? Say from a mediaplayer to a BT car kit?
If so, that would send me over the edge and Id have to buy a BT carkit!
...ohh, on 2nd thoughts, it would also depend on the bandwidth too. Anyone know what sort of frequency range BT stereo may be limited to?
for stereo output is another reg.hack needed i think. because pushing the voicedial button at the handset it activates the bluetooth headset profile for listening to the voice but voicedial doesnt start. so you can use it for normal micro and loudspeaker.
maybe anybody knows how to activate in this case the "high quality audio profile" by editing the registry instead of "headset profile"?
Great job, The sound (in music) is good ? i tested this but the sound wasnt good.... I think my headset isnt good for music.
yes it depends on the bluetooth profile. for good quality "high quality audio" (A2DP) profile is needed.

Works -but not great
very tinny muffled sound on my moto HT 820, was hoping it would work as well as the bluetooth stack update for the magician.
Sound does come out in both ears on my stereo phones. but I dont desire to listern to the tinny sound.
Still great find and discovery. Just hope someone can progress it to A2DP asap.
sorry, but can anybody tell me how to edit the registry in WM5? I never did it before. What tool do you guys use? Is it something free?
Thanks.
I used PHMREGedit

andyes....it's free.
Tried it with my BT200
I know the registry works....but cannot get it to play on the headset.
It works...becos upon pressing the phone button on the head set for 2 sec, the audio comes from the handset. On redoing it again, the audio goes off from the handset.
Mine is working fine. I really like the way its now.
Thanks a lot.
Ooops....
my Bt200 wasn't working. That's why there was no audio coming from it.
Need to figure out why there is no audio coming from the headset.
Sigh another problem!
So basically, the registry works.
Im using Total Voice COmmander and it works with WMP.. No need to install another software to play music thru BT.
I just press my Jabra headset twice and it goes "Say Command".. then I say "Play a music"..
Sometimes it's stubborn and Calls someone or Says "Today you have no Appointment" but I guess with a lot of practice, my Dopod understood what Im saying and played me a song.. Now, Im having trouble with my Dopod catching the title of the song i want it to play. I've placed voice tags on the songs and 50% of the time, my dopod got it right.. got to work on the other 50% though..
Hi all,
I have a MDA Vario with QTek 2.18.7.7 GER ROM.
I have installed the A2DP AddOn and the following "bug".
I use the Parrot CK3100 handfree carkit - it don't support A2DP !
i have no option "Use as Wireless Stereo" with CK3100 in my PDA BT Settings.
If i start a call over the handfree car-kit and abort it during the dial progress then ALL my PDA Sounds goes over my Car Speakers and radio goes to mute - i hear for example the voice from my Navigation System and then the radio goes mute, after it, radio goes back from mute.
This is a great bug
My problem is now:
If i get a call or i start a call and if i hangup after then all Sounds goes only over PDA again and only phone calls goes over the handfree car-kit.
Only after a Softreset and with the "Dial and direct hangup trick" i get all sound over the car-kit again with correct "Radio Mute".
Can someone from this great peoples here make something that i everytime get all my sounds over the car-kit with correct "Radio Mute" ?
I don't use the BTAudio Tool because if i start it, my radio is already in mute and i can't here music.
With this nice "bug" the radio goes only in mute if there come a sound from PDA.
Please help - i need this "bug" as feature

Hmm, now i see the Menu "set as wireless stereo" but it is grayed (disabled).
That's because your car kit doesn't support a2dp or stereo BT. I have the same problem with my HS850.

I don't know why, but it works.
If i use bt touggle tool my car-radio goes only to mute if any sound comes over PDA.
It is not everytime in mute
Perhaps it is the A2DP Patch - i don't know.
Hi,
I been trying the BtAudioNav to redirect sound to my bluetooth hands-free but it doesn't work on my Trinity.
Anyone has try it with success?
Most mono-headsets do not support the A2DP profile.... so it is to be expected that this doesn't work for music and stuff...
However, i had it working once on my old Fujitsu Loox 600...can't remember how i did that though, but it has a different BT stack anyway...
Or do you just mean the phone-calls being redirected does not work ? Please try to be a bit more specific
Phone-calls works but for example redirect sound from GPS soft to headset not!!. With BtAudioNav should works but with my Trinity not.
Not all phones are capable of directing all audio to the mono bluetooth headset using the handsfree/headset audio gateway profile. Many of them are designed to ONLY stream voice calls. I'm not sure if this is due to the hardware or software (possibly a combination?), but some phones are capable of streaming/redirecting all audio entirely (as well as mic input) to the mono headset. I guess the Trinity doesn't. I've only heard of a few phones that actually work with that BT audio utility you're using, and they seem to be mostly older models, but that's just a guess. Anyway, perhaps there's a way to redirect all audio through the stereo bluetooth profile instead?
1. Copy the folder BTAudio and its contents to \Program Files
2. Using a registry editor amend the following entries from:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\VoiceCommand
Path = \Program Files\BTAudio\BTAudioOn.Exe
VoiceCmdDuration = 86400 (DEC) = 24 hours
3. Softreset

Guys, please DO read my past articles and/or use the forum search engine to look for them. At http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=281977 , I've explained everything you need to know.
Did anyone get BTaudio working on their Trinity?
BtAudioToggle opens a link with my mono headset ( I hear hissing in ear piece) but media still plays through Trinity speaker.
I read the Hermes forum about a different reg hack. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=278778

Perfect audio re-direction with Jasjar & Jabra BT250v
that was very neat & BRILLIANT !!!
got my Jabra BT250v without knowing these issues. on discovering that my jasjar was not capable of audio re-direction to Jabra.....I was shattered. ROM upgrades r scary to say the least.
after a day of frantic search & many failed softwares, this one did the trick. 'qyach'.....many thanks for this.
now my Jasjar & Jabra work perfectly with TCPMP & Skype. Voice command continues to work from the Jasjar mic.
I couldn't ask for more.
THANK U ONCE AGAIN !!!
Tried VJVolubilis, Bluemusic and BTAudio (with both of the 2 registry hacks referred to in this thread). None of them worked on my Trinity. Would very much appreciate someone shed more light on this issue.

Hi,
I got the Motorola T305 to connect to my TyTN and the audio gateway routed to the T305. Everything sounds great but I get this annoying beep once every 5 seconds. Does anybody know how to get rid of it?
Thanks,
Sean
JUST SORTED IT on my TRINITY all workin fine
Only problem is, as the article suggest it disables the voice commands!! I can live with this as I only want to stean the TOMTOM voice when using the satnav while walking or on my bike.
What I had in mind was a a couple of icons, one to make the registry changes for the BT Audio streaming and the other icon to toggle back (ie change the registry back to voice comand via the BT headset). As far as I can see (once BTaudioOn.exe is copied to my Trinity) the only difference between turning my Jabra BT250v into an audio streaming headset and a phone headset are the two registry changes; and then change them back to give me a Phone headset again.
Can anyone tell me if this is possible to use a .REG file?
Can it be written on a PC and then copied to the Trinity so that it runs?
Will reg files run the same on a PDA and they do on a PC?
Thanks in advance
New app?
Can anyone make an app in which you can configure which feature you want?
1) Change to Voice Dail
2) Change to Voice Command
3) Change to a redirection program like BTAudio.
and got to set the delaytime too
Destination Gotland Bluetooth Mono Sound.cab
I installed this, no registry changes, etc. and it works great. you toggle between unit speaker and the headset by hitting the button on the BT headset. It is great for Skype.
The Cab is in the Zip. I think I picked it up off the tutorial here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=281977
Battery Problem
OK, the solution I posted does work well. However it just killed my battery life. I think that whenever the BT is paired, even in the regular mode (not streaming to the mono BT) it uses the full amount of battery as if it was streaming to it. I think the battery life was even reduced without a paired headset as long as BT was not disabled.
I guess I am still looking for a better solution too.

THANK YOU !!!! works purrrrrrrrrrfect !!
After reading very long threads about this issue, many changes in the registry and some full pda restores, I haven´t found the way to redirect all the sounds to the handsfree in my TRINITY.
Has anyone managed to make BTAudio or any other program work with a Trinity?
I think that as long as the handsfree headset you use supports the A2DP profile then all audio is redirected to it without the need for any registry hack. At least that's my experience with my SonyEricsson stereo BT headset.
2 Types of Redirect
One is with A2DP where the bt device is compliance to it. I do not have one but I believe it will work fine.
Another way which I am using is via the Handsfree Voice Command channel. When a voice command software(Such as Cyberon Voice Speed Dial) is installed and when the recognition is triggered(usually by a button on headset), all audio is redirected to the the headset.
So the trick is to keep this redirection longer.
This is can achieved by changing two registry settings.
- Change the duration to something longer, like FFFF.
- Invalidate the voice command software execution.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\VoiceCommand]
"VoiceCmdDuration"=dword:FFFF
"Path"="\WINDOWS\invalid_sddialer.exe"
With that, I have lost Voice command via my headset but I hardly do VC at all, and if needed, I had associated one of the button on my dopod to launch VC but I need to speak into the phone instead.
Not sure if this is the best way but it's the only way I know of untill I figure out other.
FYI, I'm currently using Dopod D810 with lvsw ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299771) and a Motorolla H700.

Hello,
I agree with this.
I had not been able to get the Trinity to redirect audio to a sony HBH-IV835 heandfree device.
Since I've change for a Sony DR-BT20NX headset with AD2P profile it's working like a charm. No more registry hack or software needed.
Then registry hack only concern improvement of audio quality (bitpool and so on).
Sadly i'm not able to use real stereo (replace the use of joint stereo) because it's generationg a slight annoying hiss sound.
Is this still the status, also with WM6?
I can't believe it's not possible to redirect some kind of way like I've been reading in the Tornado treads.
Yeah, I'm also can't redirect all sound to my headset (Plantronics Pulsar P590) by one click or by launch some program. Every time I need launch BT Settings, open Devices tab, tap'n hold on "590Plantronics", and select "Set as hands-free" or "Set as Wireless audio".
Can't find other ways to do it - no registry hacks, no other...
Does this help maybe?

I did not test it yet...
No, it doesn;t work too... All discussed programs (BTARouter, BTAudioNav, BTAudioToggle) are just redirect phone calls to the my headset. No audio output at all (headset icon doesn't appear).

I just tried it. Didn't work. I could hear it activating the speaker on the headset as I launched the app (soft hiss) but it didn't re-direct any audio. Voice calls only through the headset (which is the same as without the app installed). I guess it really only works for smartphones.
The registry hack worked for me but I need voice command so it's not really a permanent fix for me.
I'd be quite happy to buy a new headset too but I don't want something bulky or with wires everywhere like all the stereo ones on the market. The single ear clip on ones are just so quick and easy to use...

Problem is temporarily solved by deleting all the pairing and redo the pairing of the headset but only choose as handsfree instead of wireless stereo.

Ok whenever I turned off my Jabra and then turn it on again, the sound from U1000 all transferred to Jabra again. I have to redo the pairing again. The same with Charging! It's very annoying. Not sure if this happens to everyone else with A2DP bluetooth headset.
I was able to replicate this problem with my Universal WM6 as well. So I assume that it's a problem with all A2DP headsets?
Doesn't happen with me...Phone Ringing is from spkrs..all other sounds to 8010.

how about the sms sound? does it come out of the U1000 or Bluetooth headset?
SMS sound is to Bluetooth..
I think this is standard behaviour: once you set your BT headset to "Wireless Stereo" mode, all sounds will go to your headset, but phone rings will still happen on both the speakers and the headset.
Same goes for my Dopod U1000 and iTech R35.
Is there an easy way to end Stereo A2DP mode but leave phone headset mode on?
After listening to music on the way to work I want to leave the headset on for calls only, not linked for music (and draining battery more) all day. At the moment I have to turn my headset off and on to do this.
BTW, i have a Jabra BT-150. It sucks with the Ameo. Its the worst POS ive had. It worked fine on other phones, but just doesnt play nice with my Ameo.
On the other hand, my cheap iWing stereo headset from maplin works great! It had problems with wm6 on my old Universal, but works so well on the Ameo.
UK people should check out the £29.99 maplin deal on iWing headsets.

I'm interested, however can't seem to find them on the Maplin website. Can you tell more?
Would an URL do?

I have them and apart from poor low end response in music they work fine.
I just discovered that its not even stereo by default!!!!! You want real stereo? Get out your reg editor...
HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Bluetooth/A2DP/Settings/BitPool=30 - change to 48
HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Bluetooth/A2DP/Settings/MaxSupportedBitPool=30 - change to 58
HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Bluetooth/A2DP/Settings/UseJointStereo=1 - change to 0
Find a song with lots of stereo seperation that you know, listen... Do the reg hack (Soft reboot), listen again.
Man, That sucks! What a stupid default, and why no simple tick box in bluetooth settings to change it?
A simple method just check the A2DP box in BT manager proporties of your handfree and uncheck it.

Ahhhh .... no wonder I find that the music streaming from the U1000 sounds a bit hollow and not as stereo as my previous Qtek 9000. Will try this out later. Thanks!
