TomTom 6 and Qtek 9100? - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

Hi,
I have a TomTom 5.21 that works ok, but I would like to have new maps, so I want to upgrade to 6. Is it working in Qtek 9100? It's seems that it's not on the list of the supported devices...

It works great, and with an extra bonus: it loads in less than 10 seconds

It does; see for example http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1036940&postcount=204
I also recommend the entire http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1036940 thread.

Thanks guys...going to upgrade.

Did someone tested the new TomTom 5.1 update with WM2005?

Did someone tested the new TomTom 5.1 update with WM2005 to see if it works now 100% on WM2005?
I want to update my Qtek 2020 to WM2005 and the only thing that is stoping me is TomTom 5.
The last time I tested TomTom 5 in my Qtek, it had the backlight problem and it crashes alot in the midle of navigation.
Thanks
Hey, that's just what I wanted to ask here
... allthough I haven't been testing Magneto yet - but planned it for today
I think, that should be a good time to start trying magneto + tomtom 5.10
will report when ready ...

HTC Wizard + MobileNavigator 5

Hello, I'm new to the forum.
I'm interested in using the HTC Wizard with a GPS software managing TMC like Navigon MobileNavigator 5.
Does anyone have any experience with this match?
Thank you in advance.
tried Navigon with my MDA and its very very slow
Hi,
I also use NM5 on the MDA. I think it's working fine when you overclock the MDA
If installed the map on the SD-Card and NM5 itself in the RAM.
Regards,
I am using TOMTOM - it takes less resources than Mobile Navigator and is working fine! You can have a TMC like support from TOMTOM using GPRS and a PLUS Service of TOMTOM- that is with a yearly extra fee - but you do not need a more expensive TMC GPS solution.
You have to calculate what is better for you.
@wawibu: How do you do?
Navigon on Qtek 9100
It´s work very fine and fast. No problems.
Qtek 9100 with Navigon 5.2.5
I've got a demo copy of Mapopolis on my 8125. I'm using a Holux GPSlim236 over BT to get GPS info.
Overall it works fine. It has a few quirks, like not always picking the route I would take but that's to be expected I guess. Searching large maps like Cook County, IL will sometimes freeze the device for a few seconds while it looks and sometimes will not come up with the address match. The voices do not impress me either, but it does get you to where you need to be.
I'm probalby still going to buy TomTom for the US though. From what I've seen and read, TomTom beats all, and it's only $50 more than Mapopolis.

TomTom Navigator 6 Upgrade

I have an official copy of TT Nav. 5 and I have asked TT support how to upgrade to TT Nav. 6.
I've been VERY disappointed by the answer:
1) "TT Nav. 6 is not compatible with the JasJar" but is with the Qtek 9000?
2) There is no upgrade available, I would have to buy the full version, since it's "a new product"
As far as you know, would there be an upgrade available from 5 to6 in the near future? Or TT assumes its paying customer would just throw away the old version they have and buy a full new version every time?
Can't believe no-one needs/wants to update its TT5!
I'm not sure if I understand the question..
I am currently running TomTom 6.010 on my Jasjar - it works fine, albeit a bit slower than 5.21
I run TomTom v6 on my IIs with out a trouble.
There is no v5 to v6 upgrade, and v6 works fine with all flavours of Universal.
Cheers,
Steve.
tt6 works fine in exec but its slow in landscape mode . am going back to 5.21.
why buy it when its free . torrent it dude
I agree, running 6.01 fine on Qtek 9000 with french rom 1.30.97. Faster than 5.21 to my opinion...

Tomtom Navigator 6 software

I am thinking of upgrading to Navigator 6 for my K-Jam, but on the Tomtom website it isnt listed as being compatible. Anyone installed it ok and is it worth the upgrade from Nav5?

TomTom are so inconsistent. Whilst not listing Wizard compatibility with TTN6 and map for some packages, they do with others. See here listed as compatible (MDA Vario / 9100).
Just be aware only v660 build 1223 maps work on TTN5.2 and TTN6. Meaning if you dont have these maps already on your setup you will need to buy new.
However new v675 build 1409 maps were released last week and so may appeal to you.
TomTom 6 is running verey well. Fast, stable and well working with telefonfunction of your PPC - turns sound off and on again while in call.
Update MN6 - no way!!! It is rather slow!

Sat Nav Software?

What is the most reliable Sat Nav software for MDA Vario II? I have been looking at Garmin Mobile XT or Co-Pilot 7
Just wondered about any reccomendations?
Any comments would be much appreciated
people report various success with different software depending on where they are in the world for map covering and updates
fair point, well I'm in the UK so does anyone know the best ones for UK coverage?
Thanks
I'm in the UK and use Tom Tom on my Touch Diamond, it works really well. Have only just got myself a Hermes (£25) so have yet to try any sat nav software on, yet.....
TomTom
I've used TomTom software on all the following devices with excellent results:
- SPV M500 (Magician)
- SPV M3100 (Hermes)
- HTC Touch HD (Blackstone)
IGO 7 works like charm on my hermes.
Cheers
what version of Tom Tom is reccomended? I have Windows Mobile 6
Thanks
The Tomtom ripped from the tytn II is OK, Tomtom 7. You do need to purchase the maps though...
Can anyone confirm that TomTom 6 works on the Hermes?
or what is the best version to run and why?
Thanks
I can confirm both tomtom 6 & tomtom 7 both work fine on hermes.
For tomtom 7 you can get the more recent maps, but it requires more ram to run. When I was running a m2d rom I had tomtom 7 close randomly on me a few times. No problems if you have more than about 15MB ram free though.
I like Tomtom 7, have no problem running it on my Jasjam... As I said though, you need to purchase the maps. The best things in life don't always come for free...
