Does anyone know of an available piece of software that will enable the prophet to work on the Nextel / Sprint network with the push to talk feature?
I have both 3G and 4G versions of the phone.

All phone features working perfectly except for 3G. Smart carrier people cannot help. What could be wrong. Vendor says 3g works on 2100 band. Confusing statement. What can be done? Connects to umts but when video call is pressed will not connect.
Which carrier are you on again? Smart Carrier? .. From what I know no carriers in the US support video calling .. Also, Cingular is the only GSM carrier in the US with 3G which runs on the 1900Mhz band ..
also .. what does your phone display while connected "G" or "U" ... what are your phone band settings .. can you also goto dslreports.com/mspeed and see what speeds are you getting ..
According to GSM world SMART (a Philippine operator) uses UMTS 2100, which your TyTN does definitely support.
Have you checked if your SIM card is 3G-enabled? Most 3G networks require special USIMs for 3G usage.
I just learned, that Cingular uses UMTS 850 and 1900 to be exact. According to the American HTC website the Cingular 8525 supports "Tri-band UMTS/HSDPA high speed wireless data network support (2100MHz and 850/1900 MHz), Quad-band GSM®/GPRS/EDGE worldphone".
Does anyone know if there is a special hardware version, that supports UMTS850 & 1900 or will my European TyTN work on those networks, too?
TyTN is tri-band UMTS .. 850/1900/2100 .. so it should work on these networks without any issues ...
And my bad .. didnt realize that you are trying to use the TyTN in Phillipines ..
You should also check, if the called party has a 3G signal, while you call him. Further make sure video calls are activated by your network operator.
3g problems in the philippines
Everything you guys mentioned in order(am in a 3g area calling a 3g enabled party with a 3g sim card). Even the tech staff behind Smart Communications cannot make it work. Displays U and u. But video call cannot push thru even if pic on front camera shows. There is 1 thin line( or command?) stopping it from connecting. My last option is to borrow my friend's unit and see if her unit's 3g works here then it's my device that's a problem. Thnks for the input. Keep it coming.

Hi. I don't know how they did it but Smart Communications did it! Apparently and ironically their 3g sim card is not compatible with the htc tytn but their regular sim is. Thanks all.

Hi everyone. After my first thread i have finally got everything on my tytn working: 3g, mms, internet, phone. The problem was on the settings. Smart and Globe, the primary carriers in the Philippines can both work on the phone if the settings are right.

yes there is 3g and hsdpa along with gsm and gprs and wap in the philippines. and yes you can buy globe prepaid 3g sim card.

I have searched for 3G/HSDPA availability in Los Angeles or USA but cannot figure out if this service has been started or not? I know ATT/Cingular already started theirs a while ago. Can anyone confirm on a T-Mobile USA network that they get 3G/HSDPA service on their device.

From what I heard not for a while late 2008 but tmob said early 2007 back in 06. Then when it did not come out in 07 we were told that the focus was not on data services like music and tv on mobile devices, but on the most whenever min for lowest cost hence MyFavs.
Note that T-Mobile USA will use the 1700 MHz band for their 3G network. As far as I know, there are no HTC devices on the market that support that band.
I have the t-mobile wing... and i remember reading that tmo is going to rolling out its 3g network by this summer. can n e one tell me is the wing capable of connecting to this 3g network or with i have to get a new phone?
need a new phone t-mobile's 3g network runs on 1700mhz none of their smartphone as of the moment use that band, i know your pain, my girl has the wing and i have the shadow, neither are going to work on it

i've got a Germany Topaz with an original O2 Rom (6.5), and am currently in New York. I've inserted an ATT sim card, and the topaz came up asking whether it should install the ATT settings, which it then did.
I'm able to get a connection fine, but only with Edge, not 3G. The whole greater Manhattan area is 3G covered, so i should be getting a faster connection.
I'm wondering whether there is something i need to do to activate 3G? Anyone have any ideas why i can't get a 3G connection?

Doesn't O2 Germany use 900MHz UMTS, not 850MHz & 1900MHz as AT&T? So your Topaz is likely not an 850MHz (& 1900 MHz) UMTS model - will be able to use only GSM.
Ok, thanks for that. But i thought the Topaz has the same frequencies as the Germany Kaiser, and i used that 2 years ago in California, with ATT, and had 3G almost always. Strange.
You are aware that there is a variety of models/frequencies specific to local markets?
What is the model shown under the battery: eg TOPA110 T5362?
Then do a search for that model and compare with the (UMTS/HSDPA, not GSM) specs for AT&T Pure:

searched around but didn´t find anything that could help me. I m from germany and currently i'm in the US and want to use my milestone 2. bougth a t-mobile sim card but it doesn`t work. It doesn't work even with a german t mobile card, but with this one it shows me "(no service) / Telekom", with the T-Mobile US SIM it shows nuthin. Had the phone on the whole day...and i got a sms from t mobile. but i never saw signal bars. only this one sms from the "US SIM", nuthin more.
can anyone help?

T-Mobile USA doesn't use the same bands/frequencies as other GSM providers. To use your phone in the USA, you should use AT&T.

It won't work on 3G, but still should on the 2G GSM network.
Milestone 2 data in USA
I got my A953 (UK) to send texts and make telephone calls on T-Mobile USA, but had a lot of difficulty getting any data to work - not even 2G.
I thought the Milestone 2 supports 3G on 900 and 2100 MHz, and T-Mobile USA uses 1700 and 2100 MHz - doesn't this mean the Milestone 2 should be able to access 3G data on the 2100 MHz frequency?
