I-Mate JAM for sale - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 General

I have an I-Mate JAM for sale.
Please see
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/i-mate-JAM-Po...oryZ3312QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
I also have a SanDisk SDIO 802.11b Wifi / 256Mb memory card (not part of the ebay auction), which may be faulty. The memory part works fine, but it seems unable to connect to any wireless networks. PM me if you're interested in this.

256MB & Wifi Sandisk SD Compartibility

Has anyone tested SanDisk Secure Digital 256MB + Wi-Fi Card with XDA2?
Many people that already tested it say that the card is not compatible with the O2 XDAII/i-Mate GSM/GPRS Pocket PC/Dopod 696/Qtek 2020.
Can anyone please confirm if the card functions both as memory/wifi
with the O2-XDA2 or provide with a link with the appropriate drivers?
No it doesn't. Microsoft limitation.
The maker of the card also state that it does not work for the xda 2.
Sandisk Compartibility List
This is sandisk's compartibility list.It says that it is supported by xda2!
http://www.sandisk.com/consumer/download/sdwifi/sdwifi_compatability_list.htm
:?
are you sure it's not the comatiblity list for their wifi card without ram because that works just fine with xda2's
but not the one with sdram on it aswell
list
I got that link from that store that is selling the sandisk 256mb + wifi.
When i emailed the store asking them if it actually works on xda2 they replied:
The compatibility list featured on Pocket PC Central is not our list,
but
rather the list provided by SanDisk, the manufacturer of the SD 256MB +
Wi-Fi Card. According to that list, their SDIO Wi-Fi cards are
natively
compatible with the XDA2. If you have information that contradicts
this, my
first thought would be to go with the manufacturer of the accessory
over a
third-party reseller.
That being said, I would be happy to send a message to my contact at
SanDisk
and get a more definitive answer for you.
I'll let you know what I find out.

Inegrating WiFi SDIO card inside Magician?

Did anyone experiment with integrating a wi-fi SDIO card INSIDE the Magician? I am curious to know if there is enough space inside the case to solder in the internals of the Sandisk WiFi card.
Would also be interesting to know if it is possible to integrate the Sandisk 256 meg wifi card but leave out the Mem and wire it back to the SDIO pins so that the card slot could still be used to plug in a 1g-2g card and still enjoy built-in wifi...
Thought I ask it here, perhaps someone heard something. In case I put a bug in anyone's ear, a reminder that experimenting with something like this will void the warranty... so at your own risk But if you decided to do it, let me know
I think that's impossible because there is almost no space inside the magician. Moreover, such modification will mostly disable the fuction of the SDIO slot when you enable the sdio wifi card, I blieve it is pointless to do so.
Why don't buy a blue angel or wait for the next generation of magician if you really need wifi but do not want to use an external wifi sd card.
Sorry for jumping in here . ..

Dear Joachim
Unfortunately, due to lack of Custom Bus Driver on your device (MOST HTC DEVICES), the unit will not support this card. We hope that your device manufacturer will soon come up with a fix on this issue.
We appologize for any inconviniences this may have caused you. We recommend that you use the SD WIFI CARD with no memory instead.
Kind Regards,
Sudhi K.

Wi-Fi + Qtek 2020 + WIN2003SE

Hi, what do I need to connect my Qtek 2020 with WIN2003SE to my wi-fi access point? Adapters, software etc.. I searched some info around but I still dunno what i need... please help me
Just a SDIO Wifi card. Do not but the cards with built in memory because that would not work.
Mark
The SDIO wifi card won't work with the 256MB built in memory with the Qtec 2020. The card without the memory from Sandisk works very well.

improve sandisk sdio wifi card performance

i got a sandisk sdio wifi card two weeks ago, for my brand new tsm500 (same as xdaII) and at first was very disappointed as card was very slow. Supposing was due to some special configuration of my home wireless network, i tried all the tips i know about, with no results at all. Took a look on the net and found out that most of users of this card got the same problem. but found the solution, too, on a spanish forum: uninstall sandisk drivers and install the ones from www.socketcom.com, its sdio wifi card has the same chipset. new drivers makes card much faster, has got a more friendly desing and its configuration is very easy. just try it and post the results.

Sandisk 256MB + Wifi and MDA Compact
These drivers don't work with Sandisk 256MB + Wifi and MDA Compact. I don't know witch devices doesn't work but I think it's the Sandisk 256MB + Wifi.
Do the Sockets drivers work with the standard SD WI-FI (the one without the ram) and the MDA Compact IMATE Jam?
These drivers work fine for me, using a standard Sandisk Wifi card (without extra RAM) on a XDA2
Is that the low voltage sandisk card?

Yes, it will work. SanDisk only came out with 2 SDIO WiFi devices, the first one having no storage, and the second on with 256MB of storage. SO if your card is the one without storage, it will definitely work.

Best Wifi card? Ebuyer SD Wifi Card no longer available :(

Hi,
I'm so annoyed that i waited until now to get a Wifi card for my Orange M500 (UK Magician). By the time i got around to ordering one, they (Ebuyer SD PDS Wireless Lan Card Adapter 11MBPS) are discontinued
Does anyone else have any recomendations for compatible SD Wifi Cards that are still available?
I see that Ebuyer.com sell the Sandisk 256MB Wireless 802.11b Secure Digital Card for £72.84 inc VAT but is it compatible?
Futurity
There's no reason why it should not work. The memory should come in useful anyway.
I have the spectec one, very very small.
http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=121110
Works a treat.
Im also using the SPECTEC with no issues
SPECTEC 820 + Modified E300 Drivers: a winner combo !
I got 2 Sandisk SD wifi cards off eBay, cost just over £50 each inc postage, they work a treat, just had a look and the seller no longer trades You can still get them off eBay but you'll have to look into how good the seller is. Hope that helps.
I use the Sandisk 256mb+wifi -- works quite well.
