Hi,
I posses an O2 XDA II. About 4 days back i put my phone for charging in the night, like i always do, and woke up to see that it wasnt charging and for some reason it was turned off.
Only after charging my battery through a booster i managed to turn my pda back on. Now when i connect my charger or place it in the usb cradle, the LED turns on and it also syncs with the computer, but instead of charging it dis charges.
I have been using a booster to charge my battery every night so i have to keep my phone off while charging and thus my phone hard restarts every morning.
Please help me with identifying the same problem if you can.

I put my phone (T-Mobile MDA VARIO) on charge last night before I went to bed, nothing strange about that, but this morning the phone was completely dead ,wouldnt charge, no lights, wouldnt boot etc.
After searching this forum I found what I thought was the fix for a dead battery (3 AA batteries/wires etc) I did this and the phone now boots and says its chargeing, but only if I charge using USB, it wont do anything if I use the wall mains charger
If I take off the wires/AA bateries, the phone shuts down and wont charge, but as soon as I put the wires/batteries back on it works as normal.
While the phone is running I looked at the power application & it shows the battery chargeing, but wont hold any charge at all
obviously I cant walk around with 3AA batteries & 2 wires attatched to my phone.
does anyone have any suggestions please

I'd look into a new battery...
If this were a notebook battery I would say the cells had collasped.
exact same thing happened to me last night. I think there is an issue with charging the wizard when its off, like it doesn't know when to stop charging and it overloads the battery. Do you happen to have the link for that 3 batteries and the 2 wires trick, I want to give it a go. Thanks.
I buy a brand new o2 xda neo (htc prophet) i used it for one day, after i prepared to charge.
It seemst to be goodd, on the today screen shoes that charging.
I let it for a night to charge. Next day i put of the charger, and it was stayed thet charging jet (pocket plus shoes "CARG"), but it indikate that battery may goes out. I used it for a day, it turned off, and i can turn of or charge, i began to charge, but just the boot loader comes and turn of.
The led dont indicate the charging.
Please help what shall i do?

i just buy new battery and when i put it into ac charger nothing happens. what i can do now?
I've read about ROMs where the charging icon won't turn on during charging, but the battery is still being charged...
Can you turn the phone on to check the battery status properly? It should turn on even if the battery doesn't work, as it'll be powered by the AC charger.
my wizard also wonot turn on , there is nothing , no usb conn., no charging , nothing

Same situation. My mini S was going bonkers back then as the screen no longer aligns when you shift to using to the keyboard and back. Forgot to recharge it as was frustrated not being able to use it properly and after that it simply won't charge anymore. Did the battery jump-start thing and even bought a new battery plus recharged the internal battery yet it still won't turn on. No LED red light or anything.
Has anyone come up with a solution yet?

My problem is that a morning my battery was 5% left, I switched it off and thought to recharge it later on. Night came to home, put it on charge (wall AC Charger). After 4 hours nothing .. no answer, no charge. Tried to switch it on, tried to reset it. BUT nothing happened.

try to put our your battery out of the phone at night, go sleep, and when awake put to phone and try to turn on, if it don't help, try to recharge manually
that's the problem...! i can't recharge manually!!
i did the jump start.... now the red light is on!!
what does red light means....? i should leave it for charging or it will never chanrge now??
Jump Start
Jump Start may or may not work with your problem, you may need to charge your battery with external charger because after getting fully discharge it will not come on re-charge state.. you may say it is a design flaw.
If you don't have external charger than try to put positive and negative wire keep in contact for more than 5 minutes ( as described in jump start trick for 10 to 20 sec) but do this only at your own risk.
my recomendation is to use external charger.
i am also having this kind of problem with my wizard but my battery is not discharged my phone battery is draining out with no reason. i bought a new battery for my wizard but same result. If anyone can help me i will be very greatful.

Good morning. Yesterday night i put my nexus into charging and when i woke up this morning the phone was dead. I have no reaction on any combination of the keys. I tried to remove a battery but i seems do not help me at all :crying: my phone is rooted and I'm using a LINAROBEAN Rom by tackleberry_crash last 2 or 3 months. I tried to connect my mobile into pc by i've got no reaction. Just charging led is on and thats it. PS. When i connect my phone into charger battery level was about 58%. Any ideas what might to be happened? i"m in UK. Just in case: how the servicing plocdure lookes like, and where i need to send my mobile?
If charging led is on, try and let it charge again, for an hour or so using wall plug or alternatively by computer. Then try to turn it on.
If it never turns on after you tried charging, maybe get a replacement battery?
I just came back from the work. Phone was in a charger about 10hrs (i used a diferent charger frommy htc). phone is still dead
