hi,
i just got myself a TyTN, before that i had qtek 9100 and i use to use this tweak:
By just adding following keys to the registry will get you a nice 'wireless' today item that show Network name/status,
WiFi name/status as well as Bluetooth status. Confirmed to work on AKU2 ROMs
[HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Today\Items\"Wireless"]
"DLL"="netui.dll"
"Order"=dword:00000000
"Enabled"=dword:00000001
"Type"=dword:00000004
now i tried it on my TyTN and it doesnt work...each time after making the changes to the reg. when i softreset the .dll file gets missing in the reg. ? i dont understand why it shouldnt work as both the devices use wm5 ? could some please help me with this?
thanks,

Try taking off the quotes on netui.dll and adding the windows directory in front \windows\netui.dll
String value Name=DLL
String Value Data=\windows\netui.dll
Seems to work for me
I also have dword key for FLags and OPtions, but they are set to 0
I've done this on my TyTN and it works fine. I think the key is to actually close the registry editor program (not just hit the X to minimize it) before the soft reset to ensure that all of the changes are saved to the registry.
hope this helps.
hi thnx for the prompt replies, but none of that helped...from the start i never used the quotes, im using PHM Registry Editor, and when i click on "ok" it asks me to save changes or not so im sure the changes are saved i have even verified it again by opening the prog. but when i softreset the dll key just disappears...i tried adding /window/ in front of netui.dll also...btw im using 1.18.255.3 english rom...
EDIT:
ok so after playing arround a little i have come to the conclusion that the reason why the dll key is not working is coz the .dll does not exist? i have looked a little into /windows/ folder and i see a file named "netmui.dll.0409.mui" but nothing like "netui.dll"...i even did a search nothing comes up...so someone could see and tell where must this dll file is located i could verify if it really there or not...
Thanks,

Hi,
I just upgraded to the latest official rom.
Before the Extended Rom Setup I had a "Wireless Today Plugin" that is gone after the ext rom setup...
Is there a way to have this plugin back without having to hard reset?
Thank you,
Roberto
Well, dowload this file, unzip it then execute the reg from PDA. The wireless plugin reappears in your today plugin list...
Don't worry if you can't find it in your today screen, since i've edited the reg file to be added but disabled. Just tick it on your today option dialog
edited. already answered

Get a registry editor and add this to your registry. You can use a free editor.
I have new imate rom installed.
the reg file doesnt work for me. I have found a dll:
netmui.dll.0409.mui
in the windows dir.
maybe, because of its weird namee, the reg file doesnt work. I dont want to rename the file and maybe stop some other services or so..
cannot copy netmui.dll either to windows dir.. it says it already exists...
:shock:
wireless on today screen
I have also tried this but i won't work. I insert the .reg file I could see it in my registry. I can also put it on on my today screen but i can't see it on my today screen.
somebody any ideas ?
funny thing is that I never know abouth that plugin. I have wizard with diferent roms and never had it. I tried you're hack, and guest what: now I have it! thanks

Likewise - I think O2 ROMs don't have this, so I'd be interested to see what it is/does
Cheers
The same for me.
The Registry "Hack" doesn´t work on my QTEK 9000.
The Wireless Element itself is offered in the Today Element Menue but when I enable it, it doesn´t appear on the Today screen
I found this on pdaphonehome:
http://www.pdaphonehome.com/forums/showthread.php?t=68618&page=11
It creates a new Today Item. I'll post screenshots later.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Today\Items\"Wireless"]

Hi Yung, puckster beat you to it and included screen shots. Thanks for thinking of the forum.
What we need is a cab install or include in registry wizard
Doh. I just noticed. I'm posting a screenshot because T-Mobile here in California now shows up as "Get More..." Anyone else experience that?
Hi,
here it is in a CAB file
Regards.
great work ammar.
Out of curiosity, how do I make my own .cab file to create a reg patch? Every time I update the ROM, I have to manually change a ton of registry settings.
Thanks!

Hi McHale,
glad it worked
you just need a program called WinCE cab manager.
google for it.
Regards.
ill try this on jasjar and let u know if it works there aswell
Thank you. That blinking light takes too long on the Wizard.
Okay okay...I know there are already a few CAB files with performance tweaks, but I made one (my 1st CAB file ) with the settings I like!
You can download 2 versions, one for Dutch users (like me) and one for WWE users.
I have 2 different versions because of a Today Item tweak with the Calendar and on Dutch Roms this is called Agenda.
I know that most of the settings here are also in apps like Registry Wizard, but this CAB files executes way faster then installing and configuring Registry Wizard
A little note: You can uninstall the program, but the settings will stay in the Registry so you have to change them manually!
Regards,
Molski
UPDATE (04-08-2006):
I updated the file to file into one file for Dutch and WWE users, I almost forgot about this file so I still didn't mention what all the registry changes are doing, but like Dr. Puttingham said....in the Wiki you can find everything back!
This file also consumes about +/- 1-2 MegaByte from your RAM Memory, but hey...what do you like more...More RAM or More Speed?
p.s. Here you can see which Registry Settings are applied in the CAB files:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\TNETWLN1\Parms]
"dot11SupportedRateMaskG"=dword:00000008
"dot11SupportedRateMask"=dword:00000001
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GWE\Menu]
"AntiType"=dword:00000000
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GDI\GLYPHCACHE]
"limit"="16384"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\StorageManager\FATFS]
"CacheSize"=dword:00001000
"EnableCache"=dword:00000001
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\StorageManager\Filters\fsreplxfilt]
"ReplStoreCacheSize"=dword:00004096
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders]
"Cache"="\Storage Card\\Temporary Internet Files"
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Keyb]
"EnableIndicator"=dword:00000001
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GDI\ClearTypeSettings]
"OffOnRotation"="0"
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings]
"SMSDeliveryNotify"=dword:00000001
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL]
"EnableDifferGprsEdgeIcon"=dword:00000000
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Calendar]
"ShowLunarCalendar"=dword:00000001
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GWE]
"cxVScr"=dword:00000009
"cyHScr"=dword:00000009
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Obex]
"IsEnabled"=dword:00000001
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Today\Items"\Agenda"]
"Flags"=dword:00000005
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Today\Items\"Calendar"]
"Flags"=dword:00000005
Thanks molski, could you include a list of what all the reg tweaks do, for those not so techie, either in a post or txt or doc format, cheers.
I will....when I have some more time, I barely had the time to make this CAB file for myself
Nice going. My files are downloaded 14 times already, so I guess people find my files useful?
If so, please let me know, I will see what more I can create or adjust
I had a huge load of support with my questions on this forum, so it's nice to finally do something back for the community
Regards,
Molski
thx,
can be usefull after upgrade or hard reset

Thanks molski! I think you've got a few more tweaks included than the CommonSpeedRegHacks I was previously using.
Great job!

i have got rom dopod 818 pro (qtek s200)
thanks
I dont know if it works on a S200, it is created for a Wizard, so I can only say try it and see if you notice any difference in performance
Molski
any chance you can explain what exactly the tweaks do?
Hi, is there a guide how to make a cab file that automatically installs registry tweaks? I'd like to make my own custom one, so after a hard reset I don't have to do the tedious tweaking...
Could someone explain how to make one of these CAB files for registry changes? I have searched high and low for the answer.
I did something similar for my 8125. Since I have a tendency to frequently hard reset it, I did a registry file with a bunch of the normal hacks I do, as well as setting up MMS and such. Works like a charm, although I use Resco Explorer with the registry option to do it. I haven't made a CAB file yet.
Saves loads of time after a hard reset.
How might one make this registry file? I'd really like to know.
What do the tweaks do.. .please
Can you tell us what these tweaks do?
@wiredup If you read the WIKI you'll get a lot of knowledge regarding the reg settings. These WM5 changes have been documented countless times here and also on the BA WM5 forum and other places I'm sure.
You can do some googling for more knowledge if you so desire.
molski incorporated these into a very nice cab file that is one of the very first things that I install on all of my devices. His is the most complete so far regarding speed improvements IMO
(Just one of his many contributions)
Thanks again molski!

What is the default value for Glyphcache? I read bot 8 and 4 MB in different threads?
Tweaks...
You're tweaks seem good so far... Would be nice if you could put what each one does... I am familiar with most thou. I like my GPRS/EDGE Icon to be different, so I went back and changed that. Also are skinny scroll bars actually providing better performance?
I'm gonna try this out for awhile with OMAPSCALER set at 228 (I had it at 240 with random shutdowns before, but I dont think it was overheating) and see how my performance is.
Also there are programs out there that will create CABs that change registry values... i.e. "WinCE CAB Manager"

Hello everyone,
I need help with a reg key that i am tring to do. I have checked but not found anything to do with the gps.
I am trying to see if i can make a reg key that can be done from the e_rom that will put in my gpd pair info, so i dont have to set it up everytime i do a hard reset!
I did try doing it by coping the reg key from when i have set it up the correct way but when i blank it out and enter the info again it does not do anything.
Reg key that i did was found in
Code:

Merci
Does anyone know if this would work
Well i got it to work, so now I have a cab file that sets up my BT GPS unit without me doing anything!!!

Here is your best bet on what to do.. start with a fresh install where you have paired nothing.. then use an app such as TRE and export the registry. Then pair your device, after pairing turn your BT off and soft reset. After the phone comes back up do another reg export with TRE. Then go download a trial version of Registry Workshop and this app will let you put your 2 exports in there and it will do a comparison and tell you what keys changed. Then you can take these changed keys and make yourself a cab
CLOSED, DUE TO IT NOT WORKING
Whenever I get a next text message, I noticed that the messages have a time stamp way way off from the current time. How can that be if the time of the phone is right?
Have you tried this fix?
1) Goto HKLM/SOFTWARE/OEM/PhoneSetting
2) Add DWORD Value 'TrustTimeZoneField'
3) Set value = 0
4) Soft Reset
I had a similar issue where all the Delivery Reports from OrangeUK (sent from "System Administrator") came up before all the other messages regardless of when they were received.
Maybe something for me to try.
Can't find it
Where is that file at? Or it a registry?
I looked on the explorer on the HD but so many folders I haven't found it. Can you elaborate more?

hi stzd8,
it's the registry
HKLM is short hand for Hkey local machine
How do I get to the registry?
I apologize for asking these type of 'questions' but how do I get to the registry?
I can only see files. Do you access the registry from the connected PC or on the phone itself. So this is the right way to fix the timestamp?
thanks
Edited the registry 'trustedtimezone' didn't work
The registry thing didn't work, any other ideas?
the tweak WORKED for me.
Thanks alot!
I'm having this same problem running duttys 6.5 r8 and the reg edit did not work. Is there any other solution?

Did you change correct registry key? Did you soft reset afterwards?
EDIT
This fix may not work on different rom version, i.e. wm6.1 & wm6.5 as well as different manila versions. Try asking question in relevant rom thread and you may get a quicker response to your query
