Hello,
i need this thing for wlan at college. I've managed to get a wlan connection now, but I can't load any page. The support page sais, I have to set an automatic proxy configuration URL like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Ho do I do with Windows Mobile 5 using Netfront? (not Opera!)

it should not be required that you turn on proxy
it should just help you get pages faster if body else on the network already been there it's a cache really
Thank you for your reply!
On their help page they say:
"Due to massive abuse of our connection to the internet from the WLAN we have to enforce the use of a proxyserver for connections to the internet"
and (translated by me):
"...we must enforce the use of the cacheserver. Accessment to the internet is only possible with the cacheserver."
Doesn't that mean that I must use the cacheserver and the proxyconfiguration? Because, by now I can connect to the WLAN (so WEP-key and all the heck are correct), I get an IP, but I can't load any page nor receive my mails. With my WLAN at home that's all possible.

Why doesn't WiFi work for me?
Try to delete all remembered networks or delete /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf, if that does not work try a full wipe.
If that does not work try to flash the attached no-n.zip below.
My whole college Campus is enabled with WiFi facility.
But the officials said that u cannot connect it through mobile.
U can only connect it via laptop.
i tried connecting it via mobile, but it asked many other things other then id & password,
i Have the id & password, but i dont know what to write in other things.
Can anyone help me please.
i m attaching a ScreenShot of the things asked while connecting to WiFi

Maybe they are telling the truth?
Maybe you cannot connect it through mobile?
Maybe there is nothing you can type in unless you hack their network from the inside as there are ways for networks to internally recognize the device attempting connection?
Good luck, I guess!

I dont see any reason why you couldn't connect it with your phone
I don't see any reason too. I think you have to write ip addresses manually
So I was stuck at "Obtaining IP Address" and "Authenticating..." since XXDLH4 and decided to check advanced settings.
Instead of automatic obtaining of IP address (DHCP) I checked Static.
Settings:
IP Address: Use free IP in your network. My computers use IP's until 192.168.1.20 so I used 192.168.1.21
Gateway: Use your "IPv4 Default Gateway" (check screenshot)
DNS 1 & 2: Use your DNS servers (check screenshot - "IPv4 DNS Servers")
After that I connected to WiFi successfully finally!
Click on your network icon in right bottom and find your network --> right click --> status (to see your settings in Windows 7)

Hey guys, been having this problem for a while but finally had enough of it!
For a start, in the wifi list in settings it doesn't show me which network I am actually connected to.
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
In addition if i tap another wifi network which despite already previously been connected to it , it will still ask me for the password again, after which it keeps saying failed to connect, it wont let me connect to it
I have been getting around the problem by using WPS on my wifi router and "WPS Push Button" in the settings menu when I'm home to get it to connect to my home wifi as opposed to "BT OpenZone" every time, which is quite frustrating!
I'm rooted on stock rom , Build Number KOT49I.D80220h however this problem has been ongoing atleast since before the last 2 updates.
Any ideas/troubleshooting I can do??
Cheers amishra123
Tried resetting to factory defaults?
I haven't no. What's the best/easiest way to go about backing up before and restoring afterwards ?
LGBackup on the phone should suffice. Just make sure to copy the LGBackup folder to a safe location (like a PC/laptop).
[Edit] Posted also in General Discussion: consider answer there if the solution is not strictly related to P8
My P8 used to be set to use 4G network, it was set in automatic mode 4g/3g/2g
something like this, if I remember correctly
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
For a test, I switched it in 3g mode, so now the settings are:
Now the problem is that in network mode selection, I have no option "4g/3g/2g". only these options:
How to revert to 4g mode? I read around that I can use Settings > Backup & reset > Network settings reset , but according to this link, it resets too many things
Here my phone infos
I assume this is a just a bug in the user interface, not showing the desired network mode
Is there a way to work around it, maybe manually editing some configuration file? or even better some hidden setting screen that I can use?
I'm on a rooted device and can use Adb (not an expert, but I can use it somehow)
