Wow, sorry I haven't used it, but it sounds fantastic!! I'll be interested in seeing what others think too.
Cheers Mark.
Steve.

I used a very similar thing on my old SPV C600 Smartphone and it was brilliant..
Feedback welcome...

Does anyone know when a WM5 version of this will be released or if there is another program similar?

Try PhoneAlarm .. it has profiles .. but donno if it can switch them dynamically based on the location ...

Here is a link to another version but it says its not fully compatible with all PDA's. Anyone used it on a PDA?

cell-profiler is pretty poor imo, the full version of phonealarm does let you switch profiles based on cell id. Ive been using it for weeks.....great app!!
Its the app i was looking for because i used to use Magic-Profiles pro on my P900 which did the same thing.

The thing I don't like about phonealarm is the look and feel, it looks like the home page is going to be really busy and I also used SPB Diary so would it clash with this?
Has anyone used PPCProfiles for switching on a scheduled basis? If so how did this compare to phonealarm?
Thanks
Mark

HEY - THIS IS A COMMERCIAL SOFTWARE !!!
YOU SHOULD BUY IT !!!!!
:twisted: :twisted: :twisted:
yes i agree, this is a great program, you should pay for it
Yeah, actually, this is like one of the few programs that make what 3 or 4 programs do. You should really erase the app, and link the website instead.
Talking about the program, the new version has a location Service, giving you the possibility to setup different settings depending on where you are. This is one ***ing cool feature. And I've seen something like that for the Smartphone that acts as a GPS sort of device where it post the cell tower location and shows in a website where more or less are located. Anybody knows if there is such a beast in the PPC?.
Moderators and users, in fear of losing this entire website over a single piece of unauthorized software, please remove the attachment immediately.
I am one of dozens of "beta testers" working with this author to provide the best product possible, and as a developer, I would be very hurt to see my work go unrewarded like this.
*** PLEASE REMOVE THE ATTACHMENT ***
Okay, i removed the attachment. Thank you all for your encouraged acting!
Have a nice day.
Piracy aside - it's an amazing app and i'm buying a copy! Can't believe how much it does - it's SOOOO useful
The funny thing is where does this v1.20 come from since on pocketMax.net website, there's only the v1.13.02 available !
http://www.pocketmax.net/phoneAlarm.htm
Updated yesterday!
This program is really cool. I customised the JOEL_BLUE theme to show the operator name and graphical battery and signal levels. It also allows you to assign MP3 files as SMS tones! COOL!
Funny thing isn't it - piracy can end up making sales for you..
phoneAlarm is damn nice.. I was using Pocketzenphone last time but end up using this piece at the moment. Good job.. BeyondtheTech :wink:
been using this app since the first day I had my Magician, cant do without it now. I especially like the automatic (timed) switching of profiles

how??
This is a great piece of software but i still miss some features that Magic Profiles for UIQ had like;
- Creating your own profiles
- Ability to work in relation to the Calendar and automatically switching profiles. This was done by using "Magic Words" like "Meeting", "Flight", etc.

If you have ver 1.2 or higher press the config button, then select the Addon tab. Then there's a button called scroller. Click on that. Select "Rotate every" and set it to 0secs. In the "Items to show" section, select Operator.
Hope this helps

Battery and Storage meters

I wonder what today plugin do you use to check your battery, free storage and memory available. What are the advantages and disadvantages of your plugin?
P.S. The aim is to speed up the Wizard, because using Resco Today Plug-in really makes in slow.
check this out
Check out ILauncher... its pretty good shows good meters and everything and also has a quick launch.. so it pretty good check it out... But one thing is that it isnt free
to Juicy J
Yeah, I`ve tried this one. I'm looking for smth with lage icons like Resco!
You Can

I've tried a few but they all seem to have problems working with my Trinity, unfortunately.

Thanks for the post and the info
well i didn t find equivalent appz than bluezard,the first and only prog that i ve bought in my life
nocomp, I see that you like to support good software development by buying software you like. This is the only software ever that you like? Or maybe you couldn't find it elsewhere?
Hey we all have bad habits - I fart in bed - but I don't go shouting about it. ...DOH! - I just did.
hahahaha,
well , the guy that dev it is always present for help you, the prog works like a charm, and it s very very cheap, so no regrets to have bought it
if it was 100$ i would of live without it
Did you take a look at:
- BTCrawler
- Sniper
Might be worth a look
hi,
yep i know these
check that:
http://www.wm-soft.com/article/the-real-bluejack-features-comparison
Hi,
That Bluezard software look BRILLIANT!, works fast and cool features......But....
a few years ago i brought Sniper and only used it on my Universal (M5000).
So i have tried to install it on my M700 and all went wrong. I kept getting errors saying "No device found" even if i knew there were devices on around me.
If anyone else is using WM6 and getting this trouble, there is a fix for this if you search there support forum.
This is the fix:
just install the netcf.all.wce4.ARMV4.cab file to your device (not SD card) and then run the software again, and all should be working
Note: to get Sniper to manage all bluetooth functions (like storage area for recieved files etc) you MUST uncheck the 'Accept all beams' in comm manager.
Hope this helps people out there to save time to get bluejacking!
has anyone tested the full versions of Sniper and also Bluezard to give me a comparison? which has the best features etc?
From what i saw from the demo of Bluezard, i would say this is the better but i dont know
Thank you for anyones time in advance
Is there any such scanner working with Widcomm BT stack? Tools mentioned above uses only MS BT stack

Ultimate Theft Alert v35!: Free offer

Hello All,
This is NiCK Carty from www.PocketPC-Live.com and I was here in xda for a very long time at the Artemis and Kaiser sections serving the community, even released a couple of slim Roms for Artemis (HTC P3300). Now that I have got myself a new HTC Athena (dopod U1000) after being impressed by the processor 624 Mhz Intel, I will enter this section now.
My first impressions on the device, it's damn good, probably better option to those who look for a UMPC.
As a welcome note, I would like to give 7 copies of my software Ultimate Theft Alert v35! (recently optimized for Athena under real VGA 128 dpi). The next 7 replies to this post will be eligible for the free offer. Download the trial version from here and mail me for Product keys.
I would love to hear your suggestions for my software.
Regards,
Carty..

Did you open the unzipped file on a desktop PC? It has to be copied to Pocket PC and executed there!

Thanks Carty for your free gift. Will try it out tonight when I get some free time.
Edit: okay, installed it. It looks really really good. I like it better than WIMP if the monitoring integration can be installed.
I have a few questions.
1) I entered +614XXXXXXXX as my number to call when the phone is stolen, but it does not accept it. Why is this so? What if a SIM card of another country is inserted when we travel?
2) Often the top taskbar disappear. Do you have this problem? I also find that I'm unable to minimise it or switch to other applications when used in conjunction with wktask.
3) How do we make it possible for the problem to survive a hard reset?
4) How about letting the seven of us have the GPS and monitoring integration also? Or at least the monitoring integration. I like your concept of monitoring very much. I have been using WIMP in the past with GPS, but I find the GPS location to be too rough to be useful. I think the monitoring concept gives us much better chance of recovering the phone than WIMP would allow.
Fantastic application! Thanks again.

Replace + with 00. Eg: 00614XXX Try it and let me known. It is the issue with some service providers who dont accept the format of message sent with certain parameters.

The application is made to take the full screen hiding the Start bar. This is only when you're in the Admin panel making some configurations. So for a few minutes, you can sacrifice Start ar ?
Or do you think the application doesnt bring back Start bar even after closing?

Depending on in which country the phone is stolen, the international prefix is different. But + is the universally acceptable prefix to replace all these prefix. That's why I thought it would be the correct way to set up the number.
BTW, I tried testing it. Unfortunately it does not seem to be sending out any SMS alert to the listed mobile phone number when I put in a SIM card which has not been added to the database yet. Are any of the other six users having this problem?
Also, when I tried to set up the customized text, the software abended with an error message saying "An unexpected error has occured in UTAv35.exe. Select Quite and then restart this program, or select Details for more informaiton" . When I select Details, I see the following information:
UTAv35.exe
NullReferenceException
at UTAv35.Form1.Button19_Click()
at System.Windows.Forms.Control.OnClick()
at System.Windows.Forms.Button.OnClick()
at System.Windows.Forms.ButtonBasel.WnProc()
at System.Windows.Forms.Control._InternalWnProc()
at Microsoft.AGL.Forms.EVL.EnterMainLoop()
at System.Windows.Forms.Application.Run()
at UTAv35.Form1.Main()
I wonder if this (the inability to set up customise text, hence it is blank) is the reason why no alert message was sent?

Overclock Capability

Hi,
I overclocked my Prophet about a week ago to 301MHz and have it seems to be very stable - i've had no freezing the whole time whilst browsing the web, send emails and watch streaming video via orb. I just wanted to know if anyone has been able to push the Prophet any further to get an idea about its overclock capability. I know the phone in most cases remains working if you clock it to high but my Tornado seems to have slowed down after I overclocked it too much and I don't want that to happen with this one aswell.
Thanks
The highest speed I can OC my prophet to stably is 286. The chips all behave slightly differently so one may clock higher than others...
cool thanks!!
I advise you not to overclock it that much. At least not in a regular basis. It is a good idea tu use the scalar mode. You can find that setting on BatteryStatus plugin.
someone can tell me the name of a overcloker ?
id proved 2 types of programs (turbotry,other) with no results.
anyone knows a cool program tooverclock a Prophet - qtek200 and WM5 ?
thanks a lot
Try Battery Status, I've been using this for a very long long time with many cool features other than overclocking......trust me and try it....http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=270751
