Have just bought an O2 XDA Mini S off a mate, when I put my sim card in, it boots to windows screen, I have access to all menus, etc. but I cannot acess GPRS/make calls, when I goto the network settings it just says searching..?
Does anyone know why this is happening, if so how could I tweak my new phone so I can use it???

Hi im totally new to this so please bear with me. I have just purchased an XDA 2 unlocked , ive put my tesco PAYG sim in ( uses o2 settings it seems in my nokia).
1. if i try to access the phone settings it continually says "wait 15 seconds"
2. teso has told me there is no way I can get to use internet, in GPRS with it unless i go to o2, is this correct ?
All i really want is to be able to use my adrss book to dial and also to get my yahoo emails as I can with my Nokia phone.

i have an XDA exec on O2 but i wanna set it up so my mate can use it on orange (contract card) - i need to know everything i need to change. I know i have to do the message centre number for texts but what else ???
does anyone have the settings ???

No, don't. The Xda Exec is already sim unlocked.
lol yeah... Weird that I forgot as I also have an exec... No need to do anything beside using MaUpgrade_noID to install the ROM you want.

The SIM card.
If you want to get the MMS settings, GPRS and WAP you will have to go to the Orange site and search for them. The message centre sets itself up. The ROM you use doesn't make any difference to your phone, you don't have to put a different one in just because you're using another card.
If you give the phone to your mate and then get him to phone 150 they will walk him through setting the phone up to Orange settings. He should tell them it is an SPV m5000 or they will pretend they have no idea how to set one up because it isn't one of their phones.

But how about internet and GPRS etc?
Do I still need to get extra settings for it?
And where do I get them ?

I am newbie in PDA world. My counsin gave me one unit of O2 XDA II mini. When he took out his sim card, it is still in working condition, but i bring it back home and charge it up but to my surprize, when I put in my SIM card, there is no network available. I put the SIm card back to my Sony phone and it is full bar.
I tried to soft reset and hard reset but still no network.
Anyone know what is going on with this pda? By the way, what is the switch when u open up the batt cover and the switch is cover by a rubber with " PULL" words on it?
Really need help here because do not wanna miss this awesome phone.

everytime I connect my sim, it always show the NO SIGNAL ICON.. can you please help me..
