Theme Directory - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

hi i'm murdok
is possible to change default directory of themes?
(excuse me for my terrible english)

just put you're themes at the root of the storage card

i put all the .tsk file in the root of \Storage Card. And everything is ok.

the problem is just this, i would want put the themes files in a folder for having more order in memory card root

Wouldn't it make sense to put themes in your Windows directory? My thinking is that the internal memory is faster and doesn't go to sleep when the unit is in standby. I haven't done any testing, but I have a feeling that there may be a small increase in loading speed when coming out of standby/etc. Anyone have a stopwatch that isn't on their PPC?

I just put the TSK file where ever I want then open the file from there. I am not sure exactly what happens, but from that time forward the theme shows up in the theme listing.

Beware!...cause if U have changed to SD card...it stop responding after a while and it makes back to default windows folder!...I suggest to use the Storage folder for ringtones...not the SD card.
For the reminder...I don`t know the answer sorry...
Regards,
Primoz
What's awhile???
i have been using it for AWHILE!

Don`t know mate...but I have to change it every day...cause it always change it to a default directory... Look at the thread about it...which ROM version do u use?
Regards,
Primoz
p.s. I was using it with Caller ID...
I have Untouched ROM 1.03.00WWE
When i choose a file and press "set as a ringtone" it SAYS " Copied to \windows\rings\****
But when i check the rings Folder it never does...i don't know
But it is working perfectly even when it wakes up from suspend state or after a SR.
I read the thread about...
Now i wanna know if i can do the same to Themes and alarms
AFAIK for themes you can do it. just place the themes on an SD card or Storage and copy ignore_my_docs to the root and they should appear on your selection screen. As for reminders I haven't seen anything on that yet.
Thank you, worked like a charm.....
Now any1 knows about the reminders?
your welcome been looking around the registry and I've found only one entry for it.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Notifications\Reminders\
doesn't seem to be a directory entry like in rings though.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Notifications\Reminders\
I have seen that before tried to make some changes, but nothing happened.
i appreciate the help
Still looking for a definite answer to whether if it is possible or not?

Autoinstall a set of CABs (possible?)

Hi, i have updated my device to the mr. clean image.
Now i have to install all software. So i create a folder on my storage card with all necessary cab files.
Is there a possibility to have them all be installed with one click? For example to create a Batch to install them one after another?
Hope not to ask silly questions.
TheGulOfDedra
try this;
example;
This '\Storage Card\2577\autorun.exe' is an official M$ way of autolaunching programs from SD card, well described in MSDN...
If you put calc.exe into this folder and will rename it to autorun.exe, it will be automatically launched upon inserting this SD card in. So your calculator will pop up...
make a folder in the root of the sd card called [2577] put the cab files into the folder ,reboot the device .it should install,
alternative; use the autorun from the extended-rom to launch the files.you my need to do some editing intiothe config file.
Thanks - how can i "see" the extended rom? Editing a config file is no problem for me.

use "TOTALCOMANDER"
download ,install then open the prog ,write the folowing in totalcomander,[extended_rom] now you should see the contents of the extendedrom, you can use totalcomander to copy any file to any location.
download from here; http://www.ghisler.com/ce.htm
thank you very much to all
Problem is...all your CABS will be installed to their default installation directory (mostly Main Storage).
What I would like to know is how to make all CABS install to the Storage Card or a directory specified in the config.text?

Location of tsk themes???

Hi,just setting up my M700 and need to transfer my themes over.Usually do this by just restoring from sprite backup. However this time I did a complete clean install. Problem is I cant find the normally present themes folder so as for them to appear in the today menu. Usually its in the windows folder but I cant find it.Where can I put them oe where is it located (the're a lot of them in a folder I created called themes) so as to be visable to the device ie usable/selectable as today backscreens? Thanx all.
The .tsk files should be stored in \windows
When you say that you can't see it, do you mean that you can't see \windows in the explorer on your PC when the phone is connected via ActiveSync?
If this is the case, then it might be due to the fact that the \windows folder is hidden and the explorer on your PC is not showing hidden files and folders.
Try also in My Documents.
Thanx for the reply, unfortunately didnt work
@Its : I can see the windows folder in both my trinity and pc
@MacGuy2006 : Have looked in my documents to no avail
Perhaps another way of posing the question would be how or where do I put additional themes so i can use them. I would rather not have them just put in like that in the windows or whatever folder as I'd like to keep them tidy and organised in their own sub-folder called themes. That way I can edit/remove/add them easily. What pathway or tweak if possible could I use to run them off the storage card to save on space?
Thanx again.

You can put the tsk files in the ROOT directory "/" of your miniSD card and WM5 will find them. I do this to save storage on my phone.

ok thanx matterhorn. May have to do that as its proving a pain.Just that I have more than enough space on the trinity itself.just cant get them to be seen
I download the zipped up tsk file to the storage card.
When I upzip it (by double clicking on the new icon shown in my storage card it gives the options of where you want to send it). I send it to the "my dococuments" on my phone. Then when you go into "settings", then "today" screen you'll have a choice of all your new tsk files added to the original ones.

[Q] Default TF3D wallpaper folder

Hi,
does anyone know how to change the default TF3D wallpaper folder or at least, how to create a shortcut in this folder that link my pics folder in Memory Card ?
i had looked for many post but found nothing ...
if someone know how to do that, he will be my god
Thank in advance.
Someone can help ?
I don't understand why you'd need it??
My pics are in my memory card and each time i want to change the wallpaper i have to browse to this folder ...
If i could change the default folder to my folder in memory card, it will more easy and faster.
Anyone got any ideas on this? I can understand the requirement.
I would just make a standard folder shortcut from the SD card to My Pictures.
I got the same problem and what I did was make a "\Storage card\DCIM\Wallpaper" folder. Put all my wallpapers there and when in TF3D I go to settings->wallpaper, I only need to change to storage card from the dropdown menu, and then I got listed all my folders with my pictures.I Just click on "wallpapers" and choose one

theme: what if release memory? how?

I have a big issue when install a new theme by TF3D CONFIG, my main memory reduced to just 2.85mb
So i figured out what if to release the memory after installed new theme, can i do it? how to do it ?

Before doing anything, try a soft reset. If your memory is the same, try downloading htcAddicts CleanRam.It's here.search for it.If still you don't have enough memory,I would recommend you changing your ROM

Changing themes with TF3D Config takes 10 or 20 MB. I think it takes less memory if you copy & paste the manila files to the windows dir by yourself.
That overwrites the existing files and doesn't take much memory.

sounds like a pretty good method, dude.
But when installing the theme by TF3D config with .theme file, so it looks I have to extract all manila files from the theme file, how to extract them out??
another question, when overwrites the existing files with the extracted files, so whether it'll be no chance for me to restore the default theme back again???
It's the main new issue what I was afraid to!!!
pls let me know how ...
thank you very much, dude.

Hey, I think you can change the xxx.theme to xxx.zip and unzip the files.
Before you copy the files you should make a backup of your manila files (or the complete windows dir.) Whatever you want
If you don't like the new manila theme you can either copy the old files back to the windows directory or you could delete the (extracted)manila files from your windows dir. After a reboot the old - original manila files are restored and your old theme is back again
