8125 popup keyboard off?? - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

I saw a hack on how to stop the popup keyboard from always coming on but i can't find it again. Anyone know where it is in the registry please???

Do you mean only when the slide-out keyboard is open? Or all the time?

If you are talking about the on screen keyboard the way to stop it is to simply start typing when it pops up (with the hardware keyboard). If you close it without typing your not going to stop its auto start routine.
I'm sure this has been answered so search next time!

stop the display keyboad from poping up

help.
Is there a way to stop the bloody keyboard on the screen poping up. very annoying as there is a giant keyboad just below it
I had this issue, and found it only really happens when your in landscape mode, in portrait, you more than likelly will want to use it when it pops up.
I havent found a way to disable it as such but did find that if you just ignore the fact its appeared and start typing on the keyboard regardless, it dissapears again after the first keystroke
You need some kind of empty SIP.
I use PHM's on WM2003se http://www.phm.lu/Products/PocketPC/PowerToys/

If youre in landscape mode and it does pop up just press a key on the keyboard and it should go away and not come back til you go to portrait mode and use it or activate it by touching the icon.

On-screen keyboard

I use PIE with PIEPlus 2.2 for browsing, and every time I click into a text box on a web page the on screen keyboard pops up - this is very annoying as I use full screen mode and this causes the screen to come out of full screen mode while the keyboard pops up. Also I'm in landscape mode with the hardware keyboard slid out, so the on-screen keyboard is not needed.
I'm sure this problem never happened before, I'm just wondering if anyone knows of a setting or whatever I might have changed?
Use nullkeyboard

Also, if you start typing on the hardware keyboard while te software keyboard is on the screen, it'll disappear and only reappears when you tap te "keyboard button" instead of appearing every time you select a text box.

Turn off device when slide keyboard closed

I almost ALWAYS power on my device (Wing) by sliding the keyboard open. I have to wait for the screen to rotate, UNLESS I power off BEFORE sliding the keyboard shut. Then, the next time I open it, it is already in landscape mode. I have gotten into the habit of pushing the power button, and THEN sliding keyboard shut. Is there a way to have my device power off (sleep whatever) when I slide the keyboard shut, just like it wakes up when I slide the keyboard open?
If not, how about a way to make the default orientation landscape--opposite of what it is now.
hi,
you can combine sliding keyboard sounds with Vijay555 DeviceLock.

Sounds like a great solution. I can't get SlideSound to work ... I activate it, but it doesn't make the sounds or run the programs when I open/close the keyboard. I have Keyboard Sliding Sounds installed as part of my ROM. Even with that disabled, it doesn't work. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I have posted the question on PPC geeks.

How to Minimize Swype

Hi There,
I know this is a stupid question, but i can't figure out how to do this and it's really bother me. When i click on the swype symbol once, the keyboard pops up.
How do i minimize this @%@% thing after i'm done? Touching it or tapping it, just bring up the keyboard menu. Double tapping it closes it and opens it.
This is getting pretty frustrating.
Hi,
Try to use the Back button.
It works on my Desitre.
Regards
I use to click it once, as the same thing that you've related occur when I double-click that.
Beside that, I don't know for a while how to fix it with another way...
If you figure it out, please, tell us!!
Regards and good Luck!
For me to minimize either swype or the default keyboard, I just tap the screen.....the section of the screen thats not the message I'm typing or the keyboard.
It's not great but works ok for me.
For me I just click on the centre keyboard button, with swype keyboard it's the hand with the squiggle. What version of swype do you have? I'm using 3.9
Click on the keyboard symbol, should close keyboard

[Q] Droid X - Soft keyboard close?

First post after having my DX an entire week, trying to find what I can without being too noob but can't seem to find a solution to this.
I tend to type 99% of the time in landscape and seeing how the keyboard takes up 90% of the screen, I often can't see what fields I'm entering for the text. The keyboard automatically opens when attempting to input and assumed if I pressed outside of a text field, it would close the keyboard but no go.. Is there anyway to close the keyboard, even if it's just to scroll on whatever page I'm on to see what else is there then come back to the keyboard when I'm ready by clicking within the text area?
That probably made no sense but hopefully you get the jist of it. Thanks in advance.
EDIT: The back button seemed to work, disregard.
You can also swype from the top of the keyboard to the bottom and it will minimize.
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
Also you can press/hold the menu button to close. You can also do this to raise the keyboard at any time.
