XDA_II had just eaten my SD

great - apparently in the last 10 mins my SD card has become corrupted, losing half of my files.....
Doeas anyone know how I format the thing to get it sorted out??
Thanks
pocket mechanics or storagetools should be able to format the card
if not
and a sdcard reader also cant
then people say that using xdatools to put a nbf on the card and entering the bootloader of the device and choosing format from there is also a way to format cards which dont want to be format'd
ta very much - i used storage tools

750mb .aux file on my 512mb sd card???wtf???

Hi, a file has appeared on my sd card and i cant delete it, not even using my desktop pc via active sync. its made up of all random illegal characters and has 2 other 1.3mb files with it i cannot delete in my "content ie" folder.
can someone please tell me what they are, how they got there and how do i get rid?
thanks in advance
well i can tell you how to get rid!!! you will have to format you card, to fat
yeah, sounds like the card's file table has been corrupted.
You'll have to reformat the card.
If it happens again you may have a bad card.
thanks for the advice, do i need a card reader to format the card or can i do it thru active sync? Also if i do a drag/drop of all program files, will they all still work by replacing after format or will they all need reinstalling? I have copilot sat nav on there with all the maps and it was a complete ***** to reinstall after my last rom update

My micro sd became unusable after encryption.

I have enabled the Encryption on my PDA and then I have disable it, I couldn't save anything on my micro sd card and I hard reset my PDA. I have backed up my files and try to delete them from sd card and nothing happened. I have connected the micro sd through a card reader on my PC and I tried to format it and I get a message that cannot perform format. I have deleted the files manually from PC and when I connect the card back to device I can see all files on the card as was before.
Can anyone help me format the sd card and use it again from the beginning?
The encryption in WM6 really sucks. It encrypts the files and makes .menc files of them. The problem is that there is no option to store the encryption key, so the files are only usable on the phone that encrypted them. If you want to view the files on another phone or a pc you can't. the same if you put another rom on your phone.
To format the card i used wm5torage and connected the phone as an removable device. Then you can format the card from your pc. There are also various maintenance programs for WM that can use to format the card.
At last there is a manufacturer from sd cards where you can download a low level format program (cant find the program anymore in my ever growing download folder, so can't be more helpfull )

yup it really does suck.... happened to me once... what i did was (which resolved the problem)... removed the check on the radio button, then added new files to the sd after the encryption is disabled. all my files are back to normal. you shouldnt have formatted your device as the encryption keys will be lost as well...
you can also try pocket mechanic to reformat your card...

corrupt SD card

hello all. I have a t-mobile wing and I am having problems with my extra storage card. I had 3 folders on there that seem to be corrupt. The folder names have changed to these weird symbols and the folders are empty. another problem is that I can not delete these folders. Through active sync or on my wing I can not delete the folders. But I am able to continue to save new files on to the storage card.
any advice on how to delete or format my storage card and start fresh?
thanks
The best thing would probably be to format your SD card using your computer. This software might help:
http://panasonic.jp/support/global/cs/sd/download/sd_formatter.html
I haven't used it personally, and I can't remember the exact name of the SD Formatter Utility I've used in the past, but if you Google "SD Format Utility" you're bound to come across one that will work.

Help Post

Hi I wanted to clean the cache partition from stock recovery but accidentally factory reseted my Nokia 6.
The SD Card was formatted as internal storage and now the phone does not recognise it and all the data is stored in there with no access and yes it is not accessible from any computer.
So is there a way to recover those data?
Happened to me last year. I tried a lot of things and lot of searching but sadly, nothing could help me recover the SD or the data. I had to get a new SD card.

New SD Card isn't the problem the problem is the files within the SD Card. There are some very important files in there.
I have found something (or so) a software called Disk Drill it is a paid software but haven't tried it. Don't know if it works or not
