My volume slider is permanently in the down position. I can turn the volume up but not down (unless I use the cursor down on the d-pad once the volume app is on the screen - which is what I'm doing at the moment)
Is it easy to fix? Don't really want to ship the whole unit back to be honest.
Thanks.
borgs...you can remove the face plate (screen side) and reset the button..i have had to do this, and it is not as scary as you think....
here is a great tut on getting to the guts of your device:

Does anyone know if there's any type of hack to enable a different button on the Cingular 8525 to be the power on button? Being right-handed, when I pulll out the phone, it's annoying to have to use 2 hands to turn on the phone. I have the AEBPlus program but it only lets you assign a different button to power "off" the phone. I'm looking for a way to program a button on the left-hand side (possibly button 5 [ptt button] or the Windows button [labeled "ok] to power on the phone). Anyone have any ideas?
I guess no, power buttons on almost devices is connected directly to procesor (like reset button and watchdog circuit), and in fact if device is off, no system loaded, there is no way to adjust registry settings to change this.
might sound stupid, but you can try to hold the phone differently? i operate the phone with both hands (am right handed) and either way, you can power on/off the phone with 1 hand.
if holding it in the left hand, use your left hand's index finger wrapped around the back of the phone.
if holding it in the right hand, use the thumb of your right hand.
i know it isn't the solution you were looking for, but it might help
Yeah, I figured that I could do that. It's just that when I wrap my hand around like that, i have a tendency to push out the keyboard and then I have to go back to 2 hands anyway.
In using AEBPlus (or even the default commands under the "buttons" settings) and it wouldn't be so bad if I could figure out a way to get the screen to come back on. But even when I try and set one of the buttons on the right to "screen on/off" it will turn off the screen but won't turn it back on. I'm not talking about a powering on/off of the phone. I'm just talking about a way to turn on/off the screen.
never mind. I figured it out. I had the "key lock" set to the fact that the only button that would turn on the device (if the screen was off) was the power button. I fixed that. Now I'm good to go.
Guys, I don't know if this annoys anyone, but it does annoys me.
When in conversation, the screen went blank to prevention hitting any keys accidentally, but when I tried to higher or lower the talking volume, the HTC volume adjusting screen would pop and since my ear would be sticking to the screen, so at the end of the day, I can't adjust the volume without taking the phone off my face and then adjust then tap the power button to turn off the screen and put it back to my face.
does anyone got annoyed by this and could anyone fix this?
thx
Hi,
When I press the volume rocker, the volume increased by a large percentage each time I press it.
I realise that some music players have the ability to change the volume by smaller increment, but wonder if there is a cab file somewhere that enables this capability system wide. Or is there a hidden tweaks somewhere?
I like the cool music player in TF3D and do not wish to use a third party software to play music.
Can anybody help?
Thanks in advance.
i hope to change lesser too
yes i remember coming across some 3rd party applications that can tweak the volume, but i honestly forgot where.... if i find anything i will get back to you.
meanwhile, after prompting the volume menu by pressing the rocker buttons, you can select a smaller increment in sound level, by simply taping of the meter using the stylus.
volume increments
I thought super, i can adjust volume lower! Not, mine moves the same by tapping or using rocker.? unless I'm doing something wrong? Help
This is a really annoying issue... Luckily, you can adjust the volume in smaller increments using the buttons whenever the screen is turned off!

Have you found the cab yet?
When the sound volume screen appear, how do you adjust by a smaller increment? I thought whether you use the volume rocker or the screen the degree of change is exactly the same?

The music only keeps playing when headphones are plugged in! (Atleast it should... if it doesn't, what ROM are you using?)
i'm sorry couldn't find the cab, ur best bet is changing the volume from within a music player, i hear corplayer is good....
on my device i tap the volume bar using the stylus and that gives me the smaller increments in sound level.
Try tapping the screen instead of using the pysical buttons on the side. You can change the volume by one bar instead of the 4/5 bars everytime you press the button.
Is it possible to disable the volume slider buttons on the side of the HD2 either by reg tweak or cab or software?
I have a car charger/holder that holds the phone at the sides, but of course it presses on the slider so the moment the phone is unlocked it continually increases the volume to max and holds it there.
Thanks for any help anyone can offer up
