Anyone know how to Turn off phone pad tones? - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

Morning All,
I've searched for this - but can't find anything.
I do quite alot of texting, and find the phone pad input with t9 predictive text best most of the time. But that awful tone it outputs on every button press is driving me mad! Does anyone know how to turn it off?
I'm guessing it must be a registry setting somewhere?
Or even better still. Anyone know of any third party phone style keyboard inputs which support predictive text, but with bigger buttons (which you can turn off tones!) which I could use instead.
I really miss being able to do easy one handed texting, and would love an easier input method....
Thanks,
Paul

On any form of input, click on the little 'up arrow' (e.g. the one which lets you choose the input methods that you wanted to use). Among the list, like "Keyboard", "Block Recognizer", there is an "Options..." at the top. Choose it.
Then, choose the keypad input method at "Input method:" and click on the "Options..." just at the bottom. Uncheck the "Turn on screen tap sound".
Actually I find that useful. Difficult to know if you have pressed the right button on a flat screen without tapping sounds.

Fantastic!
So obvious - now I feel silly for not noticing the options option

Here you go
Setting -> Menu -> All Settings -> Personal -> Phone -> Keypad: Off.
Have fun

Settings > System > Sounds - Turn key clicks off.

keyboard click only?

Is it possible to only have the keyboard make a clicking sound or quick vibrate.
I don't want any other actions to make sounds.
I have noticed that using the touch keyboard it sometimes does not pick up key presses. Would be good to have it make a small sound when a keypress is detected.
Interesting enough have enabled screen sounds and the keyboard seems quicker to respond and no longer suffers issues with dropped keypresses.
YES
YES its possible,
1. deactivate "vibrate" in Settingsmenu >> TOUCHFLO ,
2. install app " TouchResponse" .. just search it here in the forum
3. activate option "vibrate on keyboard only"
have fun..

If you go to "Settings" from the menu of the main screen of your phone, then select "Keyboard," and "Android Keyboard" within, it will allow you to toggle this.
well i cant find keyboard options under settings menu
Never Mind i was able to find the settings and thank for help

Vibration when screen tapping ?

Hello. I just tried a nokia 5800 and I LOVE the feeling you get when scrolling or writing or just navigating menus and pushing on-screen buttons. It's just like a real button.
Is there anything similar for the touch hd? Some application adding a little vibration when touching virtual buttons ?
I can remember I had something like this (but not as hard as the 5800 one...much longer and softer, not a CLICK) when writing with the on screen keyboard....I can not find that option anymore in the menu, where is it?
Oh, and just to repeat it, I would like to have also in the menu navigation some vibration (ideal is the closest to the 5800 one, which i like very much, you really get the feeling of a button).
Hi there,
yes, the Touch HD supports Haptic Feedback, you can enable this through Touch Options (Go to Start > Settings > System > Touch Options). this will set your device to vibrate when tapping tabs, links, or other on screen items supported for applications.
You can also set Haptic feedback for buttons via Start > Settings > Personal > Buttons. Select the Virtual Buttons tab at the top and then select the Vibrate the device checkbox.
Hope this helps.
My hardware buttons (green phone, home, arrow back, red phone) do vibrate when i touch them. That's ok.
I was looking for a vibration when I use the keyboard when writing, but also whenever i navigate menus.
I checked the option you wrote about....it is ticked, but nothing works.
Is there a problem with the SPB shell I am using? Does it work only with default?
Anyway also in normal start menu from windows mobile the phone doesn't vibrate....so I don't think is a problem of SPB shell at all.
I add:
opera for instance DOES vibrate when i open links....that's an example.
But i cannot get the phone to vibrate when I use the virtual keyboard, nor when I am navigating through windows mobile menus, or the Today screen or anything else.
ok i found a little application called TouchResponse....in the description there was written i could choose how many ms the vibration should last...but i cannot find anything to do that.
The result is what i wanted, though...now whenever i touch the screen, i get a little vibration feedback. Is not as wonderful as the one on the nokia 5800 though.

Swype - Temp disable swyping?

Just wondering if there is a quick way to disable the swyping on the swype keyboard.
Love Swype but sometimes a std keyboard would be easier and I find I am changing back to the HTC keyboard for the odd message and then back again.
What swype needs is a quick way to turnoff the swype funtion and go Dumb mode.
Problem is if I type to quickly it starts picking it up as swypes
Thanks
Check settings, menu, all settings, personal, input.
Tought you could change it over there.
Thanks for the response however not really worried about switching between swype and another keyboard. More hoping there is a quick way to keep swype but make it faster as a normal keypad.
Some of my messages (Txt or Email) Swype is a bit of a hinderance. Trying to touch (tap tap) is painfully slow and so is switching between keyboards. (Bottom center. Tap slightly to the right will prompt for type of keyboard).
Eg entering in information and funny names I would like to tap one of the sype buttons and swype function is temporaily disabled. I then type what I need to (tap tap tap) then tap the key again and the swype function is reenbled and I carry on (swype swiggle swishe)
I feel your pain. Unfortunately, there isn't an option in Swype to turn of the "swyping" as you eloquently put it.
Hope they come out with a newer build that could do that and one where you can access the EDITING options with just one button press.
i simply press the small arrow next to the keyboard icon on the bottom of screen , and toggle to the normal, htc regular keyboard
edit: sorry, overlooked the op's main concern, please ignore

Hey, quick tip
you can quickly access the Editing options by swyping from the 'swype key' to the 'SYM key'

[Q] Keybaord viberation

Hey guys,
I installed the new Omnirom 4.4.2 on my I9100 few hours back, it looks great. but the only issue i'm being annoyed by is the Keyboard Vibration, when i type any text it vibrates, 100 alphabets 100 vibrations..
check the Keyboard and Input setting, but there is nothing like shutting this vibration off,
please tell me if i'm missing something as this vibration is driving me nuts.
Normaly, you should have something like : -> Settings -> Language and Input
Once in there, click the settings icon next to your default keyboard and uncheck the "Vibrate on key press" option.
Try going to Settings/Sound and uncheck the box that says 'Vibrate on touch'.
^ Yeah, probably this.
Solved, it wasn't there in input setting,
i found it here
Messages -> open keyboard -> setting (long pressing the full top button (..) -> Uncheck the box Vibrate on Keypress
Done.!
But my battery timing is worst. i've to charge my I9100 twice a day!
