Does anyone know of a good theme generator program thats compatible with WM5 that has the auto rotate feature??? I need the picture to auto rotate when i go into landscape mode.
I tried Pocket Theme Manager 2, ThemeMaker McDeb & Theme Manager Pocket Plus...and all of them dont have the feature for auto rotate. You cant even choose which part in picture you want to show up in when ur in portrait mode.

Wondering, i have this lovely .tsk theme i wanna use, shows great in portrait mode but only shows the top in landscape mode is there a way to put it to stretch?
Because i saw somewhere that it should show stretched in landscape mode.
hmm :?:
NOTHING u can do except change over to lakeridgesoftware's WAD (wisbar advance desktop). WHich u should do anyway...
ehh
true that is what i thought but where do i download the wisbar advanced desktop ? only a link to wisbar advance 2 on their website
:?:
You don't have to change over to WAD (not saying you shouldn't) the problem is the tsk file you have doesn't have any landscape images.
strange i though that Vista_VGA.tsk did hmm let me check it again.
ok
Ok installe wisbar advanced and wisbar advanced desktop plugin (wad)
now it does what i want LOL
but
the portrait screen is a different one of the landscape one right? because in portrait mode i see contacts etc but not on the landscape ..
hmmm kinda logical because the screen moves but.. would be nice to not have to add alle buttons twice hehe
I have found that almost all theme are not full screen when you switch to landsape mode...
Is there any way to force the theme to stretch or are there any themes that are better for landscape mode,
simply use your own image file sized 320px/320px as the background
robdes you can also make sure that the theme you get is landscape ready, I usually make themes that are landscape ready [for wm2003se and above], I use McDeb Thememaker as MS's Thememaker has long become stagnant.

Where are good places to find Windows Mobile 5 themes? I did Google but with not much success.
Any PocketPC Theme will work. The only difference is that WM5 doesn't completely follow the themes instructions for colors [WM5 now uses basehues as discussed by ZeBoxx in the Wiki]. If you intend to use the device in landscape try to get a theme that is landscape ready I guess trial and error? Or make your own... http://www.pocketpcthemes.com/ is a good place to start.
I find that when I 'Use this picture as a background' (WM6, Dopod D810) the image appears but it's always 'whitewashed'. By that, I mean it's faded to white - I'd prefer to see the photo in it's full colour with no faded look.
I'm certain that in the early days of WM5 this used to work fine?
Any ideas would be appreciated
use picture & video viewer to find the picture you want to use as your background. tap and hold for the context menu and select "Set as Today Background..." a screen will appear where you can select transparency. set it to 0% and you should be in business!!
Thanks cortezzi, I'll give it a go.
Any idea of XnView Pocket does it? I can't seem to find a 'set as wallpaper' option.
*can't find it*
Also tried out a trial version of Resco Photo Viewer and although it allows me to Save > Use as Home Screen then set the viewable image area and transparency (which I set to 0), however the new wallpaper never appears despite receiving the message 'Picture was correctly set as Today wallpaper'.
Settings > Today shows the background picture is currently set to 'Custom Wallpaper'
Is there a registry hack I can do to stop the default Today settings from adding transparency to new background images?
I had the same problem.. In my case it was caused by the theme I had installed. Try a different theme or modify the one you use.
as helpful as ever....thanks blitzwurst
i tried using a plain colour theme with spb menu but any custom today backgrounds i choose still come out with transparency. how exactly do you suggest i do this? i'm certain that it used to work fine (no transparency) under WM5....
i'm just eager to make use of the great backgrounds another xda user suggested on the Slide2Unlock topic (I think) at http://www.zuned.be !
That Zune site is pretty nice!
In my case I had to get a theme (.tsk) editor and embed the background I wanted into the Theme as opposed to selecting an image from the device to use as a background.
no worries, i might do the same...any recc's on a good theme editor to use?
does it run on the device or on a pc?
how do you make a background pic of your own? what size does it need to be and how to put it in the phone?
it needs to be 240x320 (portait) and it can be anywhere on the phone, you just select it in the theme menu (at th ebottom there is an option to set bg image)
the thing i've been trying to figure out is how to have a different picture for landscape and portrait (or to have it rotate my portrait pic, instead of showing part of it then starting over)
did some more searching after i posted this and check this link out
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=317266&page=2
you can make your own themes with this and there is a dude that does a you tube tutorial for it....pretty cool
Friends, please inform which one of those new ROM that has these features;
- Rotate photos on Album
- No zoom bug when viewing photo
- Custom wallpaper that apply on every tab
- Black Calender tab
Thanks in advance!
thread moved
i dont know about the zoom bug, but i would guess that any rom would suit your needs, you can get pohotos to rotate either with the g sensor / gyrator / auto rotate, or manual rotate, black calender prob find a cab, and custom wallpaper on every tab again is a cab file somewhere round here
i was using some roms with no rotation support when viewing photo. for example, if your photo is landscape while u hold your blackstone in portrait, the photo didn't auto rotate, so u have to rotate your blackstone to view the photo properly.
t3rm3y, would u inform the cab file so i can apply background on every tab (as attached picture)?
i'm using davideuck V7 and i'm very satisfied (even no black calender tab) but new roms are coming and tease me to try them. thus, i'm asking help to reduce the time and pain to choose the suitable rom
what exactly is the zoom bug?
I speculate that the zoom bug is there because the newer ROMs were cooked from the Touch Diamond 2 and Touch Pro 2 ROMs both of which have hardware zoom slider, whereas HD does not have such a hardware. I think if you want controllable zooming, you have to go back to stock ROMs, or cooked ROMs based on Touch HD ROMs.
