Help w/ Aging eyes - Outgoing/Incoming Call Font Size - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

I was hoping someone could help with a couple of features I got used to when upgrading from an XDA IIs to a Dopod 838 Pro.
Is there a way to increase the font size of an outgoing call in Dialer? XDA IIS is a bit larger and allows me to read it without using my reading glasses. Also, with my old XDA, the IA contact dialer enable me to change the font size of the incoming call to a large font. Is there a way to do this with WM5?

Caller ID Text Size

Hello, I have a very poor vision and sometimes I can hardly read the ID of the incoming caller in my MDA PRO.
When I used my old Qtek 9090, the "caller ID" application let you decide the text size, now this feature is integrated in outlook, but I found no way to adjust this parameter...
Of course I have put the OS text size to its maximum, but I'd bette have it a little bigger..
Can you please help me? thanke
If I'm not mistaken, an application such as Tweaks2k2 can change the default font, although I'm not sure about the font sizes.
I know that Nyditot's rotate program has a nifty setting that will allow you to change the font size, exactly like the appearance tab in Windows. Bit much to buy the program just for that option, though.

Thanks a lot for answering, unfortunately none of the two applications is what I'm looking for, Nyditot magnifies the screen indeed, but I wish I had something only affecting the "dialer" aspect, in order to easily read the caller's number or name with a glance, Regarding the other application or pages I'd better levae them as they are..
I suppose there is something to tweak in the registry, or a "skin modifier" for the dialer, but I did not find anything like that so far..
for all the rest I love this PDA, I would neve go back to something without a real keypoard and such a wonder connectivity...
Try this out:

Font size on incoming call notification

Hi there!
I have a question concerning the font size in the incoming call notification.
Without the extended rom installed the font size is quite small which makes it possible to display the whole name of the caller.
After installing the extended rom the font size is dramatically increased and the names don't fit on the screen anymore and are cut like "Mike Mu...."
Is there any way to decrease the font size to the original value without a hard reset and not installing the extended rom? I would hate to start anew just over this issue...
Thanks for your help!
Stefan
Come on guys, there must be a way to do this... T-Mobile did it....

HOWTO increase the number size

One common problem:
in many phone is that the phone number edit by keybord is too small same problem in all HTC devices.
There is a way to increase the numbers size?

I'm assuming you mean that you want larger buttons in the dialer app? If so, just dowload one of the cab versions that you like from here http://www.paulya.com/dialerskins.htm
That's basically just the E-Ten Dialer with various skins applied to it as a cab file. They do have the loose skins on the bottom half of the page, but the cab should be the easiest to deal with.
SOOORRY BAD ENGLISH,
No, I speak really about the number size, that common appear in the device display.
I have the tytn that have a very large screen, but I don't understand why with all the considerable space free, the number to call edited by screen keybord must be just sized about 4 mm.
My question is: There is anything to do for change their size?

Hi Motionmind,
Just wanted to confirm that the Eten skins you mention will retain the smart dial function or not.
Thanks for your help.

I think that site has a couple that do work with smart-dial or he is at least working on some that do. The majority of them, however, do not.

HTC Diamond2, WM6.5 Change Resolution

I have recently bought an HTC Diamond2 and upgraded its ROM to the official WM6.5, still using TouchFLO 3D. I have set the character size to the largest available size (through Settings), yet the character size in 'Contacts', SMS text and the digits when I dial a phone number is too small for my eyes.
Is there a Registry Tweak or Utility to further increase the character/font size?
I use a utility from here to zoom in/out text from SMS text, which is good but not adequate (NB that no sliding bars appear for the text to be read properly but...).
In addition, mine is bought from the Netherlands, yet I installed the official Greek WM6.5 ROM.
I tried RealVGA, but a single DPI is available (hence useless).
Thanks in advance for any information.
there is a magnifying program for the phone. Maybe this is something for you?

i believe the real life application: "reading glasses" might also be appropriate here
jokes aside, magnification programs are easy to use. search for them in this forum. a few available i think.
I do own the real-life application "reading glasses"; the problem is that when I am about and the phone rings, it is not easy to take the 'application' out of my pocket and 'run' it.
I have also installed the Zoom In/Out application for SMS.
Nevertheless I am surprised there is no information on how to change the character DPI under WM6.5 or the screen resolution.
Thank you again for your answers
The fontsize from the SMS tab can be found in a _manila-File.
But i forgot in which file... You could ask a rom cook, who build in a biger SMS font.
I changed the font on Manila 2.1, but not on 2.5 with Mode9 editor.

Try this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=551611
You can just use the slider to enlarge the text in SMS and emails.
As far as the system text.... maybe Advanced Config?
Thank you, but the proposed application does not run for some reason (I have install the latest mobile .net framework (version 3.7). Should I use 3.5 instead?
As for the last reply, I have set the character size to maximum from the Settings, but they are too small due to the small screen size compared to the resolution.
Judging from a LG GT500 I would say that a resolution of about 320x200 (or slightly higher) would be alright, but I know neither the Registry setting (if one is available) or a working application that can do the trick.
Thanks again for the replies though.
Try NET CF v3.5.

HD2 - SMS Text/Font Size problem

Hi Friends,
Fyi , I am a low vision person using the HTC HD2 for the past 6 weeks (lost my left eye 6 years ago due to a failed eye operation, surviving on one low vision eye). So far I have installed BsB Tweaks and enjoy the pinch & Zoom feature in all programs, the device is great with it's 4.3 inch capacitive screen !
However, the only drawback is the sms editor & screen the text size (even when set to "largest") is too small for me to read.
Does anyone know how to modify the registry setting so that the text size can be increased for the following:
1) New SMS screen
2) Reply SMS Screen
Looking forward for your help
Thanks in advance
try this out:
Go with ur Registry Editor to:
HKCU/Software/HTC/HTCMessaging/Fonts
and change "FontScale" from "2" = should be standard to "1"
tell us if it has been working for you please
HKCU/Software/HTC/HTCMessaging/Fonts is this corect adress?
I have in HKLM/Software/HTC/HTCMessaging/Fonts
But nowhere "Fontscale" ??
