Finding out which program is accessing the Internet via GPRS - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

Hi,
My Vario II seems to access the internet of a very reguar basis, using about 10KB every 10 mins.
With this sort of usuage my battery is having a hard time.
Is there any application that can show exactly which program is accessing the Internet ?

.......... so,
Shall I assume there isn't any program that does this ?

Take a look at your ActiveSync and Messaging settings.
Both work on a schedule -- and every 10 minutes sounds like a default to me...

Internet Explorer (and Skype) Disappear when connecting...

Anyone seen this?
On my Qtek 9000 Internet Explorer disappears (processes vanishes) every time as it connects to any remote internet site (opening a local file it is ok)
It happens over GPRS, WiFi or ActiveSync connection.
Not sure when it started happening, but it was in the last few days.
All other Internet apps (email, nPop, pRSSReader) are ok except for Skype when you go to the 'connected' page to see contacts - but I think that's also using IE anyway (Skype was installed and working before this problem occured).
I was using Netfront until the demo expirered, but it seems to completely 'freeze' for approx 15 seconds every minute or two, so I'm not to keen to register it.

PS If anyone saw my post back in the beginning of January, I finally got the Qtek back from repair - after nearly 4 months! New motherboard was needed, and other than this problem it's great

Fixed it (after seeing the thread on phone not ringing on closed).
Removed the System hack in Tweaks2K that fixes the cache size 2Mb, and soft reset. Everything's ok now.

WebRequest & GPRS

Hi all,
i`m developing an application which sends periodically (every 15 sec) GPS data from the XDA (Orbit 2) to an application server via GPRS. On every XDA i`ve tested so far i had the same problem, after some time (can be some minutes or some hours) the device hangs. Then you get every 20 seconds a time slot for 2 or 3 seconds to do something, but you can only make an soft reset to work on.
I`ve sent the data with SOAP to an webservice and with an stream to an servlet, it makes no difference.
If you get the chance to take a look at the connection time from the GPRS connection, it is still there an counting up, but the appliction can`t use it anymore.
In the log you find:
at System.Net.HttpWebRequest.finishGetResponse()
at System.Net.HttpWebRequest.GetResponse()
Several test where the appliction sends all the data over wlan were successfully, but i have to send it with GPRS. So problem should be the GPRS connection or the GSM modul in the phone.
Has anybody made an similar experience or have an workaround?

Problem in opening web pages

Hi all,
I have been using gprs on my touch since I bought it around 5 months ago.
Lately I am getting an error of Web Page not found using Internet Explorer.
Only if I restart the phone or re-run the gprs settings it connects properly. Sometimes it doesn't connect after doing the above steps also, so I have to just refrain from using it for a couple of hours.
I do not keep the gprs conn On continuously. I judiciously turn it off after my browsing is over.
Can anyone help me with this?
hi, try and use skyfire is freeware and better web browser
You might want to get in touch with your carrier and have them set up your gprs connection again. Perhaps something on their end is causing it.
Alternatively, as a suggestion....use opera....its a lot more stable. Check to see if your connection behaves the same way there too.
