Sound disappears after busy signal - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

On my V1605, when a phone call hits a busy signal the sound is transferred to the speakerphone. This seems to result in all phone sounds being shut off completely. Only a soft reset will restore the sounds. Anyone know of this - or has a workaround?

The same happens to me. No workaround for the moment. I have a XDA Trion with the Dopod 9000 rom...

Thanks for the reply. Does anyone know if there is..or will be, an update ROM from Vodafone?

it would be interesting to know if this issue is already solved in the latest rom available i.e. the imate one...

Is the same thing happening on the 3100 or Vario II?

I am beginnig to consider the possibility that we are the only to be affected by this issue...Noone is replying to this thread! Is there anybody out there to confirm this bug?

Perhaps no-one has ever had a busy signal. Would someone like to try this out and feed back their findings. Thanks

After 120 views of this thread and no reply from any other people I think that we can exclude that noone has never had a busy signal. Perhaps the issue is not firmware related and we can try to consider other alternatives. Can you tell me what have you installed and where (internal or external memory)?

All I have istalled at the moment is Magic Button to internal memory and Acrobat Reader 2 to Storage Card. Both work really well and this problem with the busy (engaged) tone being sounded on the speakerphone was before MB was installed, but after Acrobat Reader 2.

I have installed acrobat reader on the SD card too. I'll try to uninstall it and report the results although it seems very strange that such a software could create an issue like this...

I've the same problem.
For re-obtain the sound you can use the dial pad for the phone and the sound come back!
But your battery go down very very very fast.

Hello
I have the same issue with a french HTC TyTN (not a vodaphone) on SFR.

Good workaround, thank you! The sound comes back at the first pressure of the dialpad. Much better than a soft-reset...

Yes but pay attention because the battery go down very fast after the trick.
Si ma attento che a me la batteria va giu' in picchiata dopo questo trucco.

ops double post

Thanks for the info Mrjack69. I'll try it and keep an eye on my battery!

i´ve the same problem i´ll try it when it´s happen
thanks

I have the same problem with my TyTN. I upgraded to WM6, and the problem still exists. In my case the sounds don't turn off after the busy tone, but it's annoying enough that independent of the sound settings (even if the phone is muted) the busy tone will come out of the speaker on the back of the phone with a reasonably loud volume :/. Weird that there is no workaround for this .

Found a "solution" in another thread:
workaround update: change "Script" value to "ap" for tone to play only once, and change "Sound" value to "busytone.wav" (comes in rom, at least for HTC TyTN) - it's not loud at all.

Thanks to shadowcaster for the tip.
Also you can remove the Script key to disable te busy tone.

phone takes 3 ring b4 allerting me?

whats the crack?
if i ring my vario now, when its in standby, on the phone im using to call it, it conects and rings 3 times before the vario jumps into life and allerts me, giving me about 5 -10secs to answer b4 it diverts to voicemail?
its only recently started to do this??
mines done that from the start...doesnt really bother me, as i dont get many calls
i think i read on hear some one had found the registry settings to keep it 'powered up' in standby mode so it would ring immediatley, however the battery life sucked...
its causing me to miss alot of calls, really need to sort it
are your ring tones on your sd card? I read that that might be the problem.
yep they are, hmm will transfer it to the phone and see if that helps
after a few decades searching:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=42674
my ring tone was on the phone not the card
cheers minty, i had searched but couldnt find anything usefull, will give that a try , looks promising
yeah...the search function is a pig!
good luck, like i said...your battery life may change
ring dam loud but still about 15/20 seconds before the phone makes a noise, it switch on after about 10second then rings 10 later!
still aint sorted it?
miss call constantly due to this the phone rings for 30 seconds, but starts to ring 20 seconds after the person calling gets the ringing tone?
Hi Fil,

no pocket zen install, tho i dont know what that or similar is!
is that something i need? or something thats causing the problem?
Using Molski's 2.26 rom my Qtek 9100 rings with no delay at all, witout any modification. So if you don't mind flashing your Wizard, give it a try!
Hi,
Not something you need to solve the problem, just that some of these profile switching apps can cause a delay in the phone rinnging.
By profile application I mean a program that allows you to have several different settings and switch between them to change volume, ringtone, set to vibrate etc...
Thanks.
may try a new rom then, as the phones filled with crap anyways, could do with a clean out

It's a standard thing regarding PPC's, though as has been said before you can change the registry, but battery will suffer (SLIGHTLY)
If you don't want to, you can download Tweaks2k2, which has a fix to stop the 3sec delay, from www.tweaks2k2.com. There you will get a trial version which works for three goes...
Only takes one go to tick the box and restart your PPC though, and problem fixed.
Best Regards
NICE ONE and just like that its sorted
looks like that tweaks is a good tool! and at $10.85 or £5.72 ish worthy of a purchace 8)

Lost the Video Call button

Good Afternoon everyone!
Was wondering if anyone has "lost" their video call button. Mine is completely gone from the keypad display! Can't figure out WTF happened! Phone is working OK. I am on Cingular, not UTMS in our area yet; it's being tested.
I had the fitcat tweaker on here an dhad selected HSDPA enable, since they will be using that. But I don't know if the video call button was missing before or after that.
Any suggestions? Thanks!
Maybe you have hard-reset your device and didn't let the customization run after finishing?
You can always use one of the dailers found on the wiki, most (if not all) of them have the video call button.
Good luck!
what device are you using? have you upgraded to a Cingular ROM by any chance?
Thank You All
I think the problem was Battery pack pro V3. I did a hard reset, and the key came back. I installed each program that I was using, checking the keyboard after each install. All seems to be ok, so I am going to wait and see.
Thank you all so very much for your replies!
Tom
I forgot to mention:
No I would NEVER upgrade to the Cingular ROM. They kinda freaked out when they saw the Tytn in my hands, a tech who was there had the 8525 on him, and he claimed that their system would block the Tytns...yea, right! Mine works just fine!
i´ve the some problem and i do´n´t like make a HR
regards

By chance, in the FitCat Tweaker did you "remove" the "phone"-branding (IE. on my device its a green TYTN thingy)?
This is why your videocall button is missing.. I did that on mine and it disappeared.. enabled the "usual" "phone-skin" and whammo... it's back..
If you manually reinstall all cabs in the ExtROM, videocall should be enabled again.

Phone won't properly switch from vibrate to sound

at&t 8525 owner, here.
So, I've had this issue for a little while now after I flashed Shadow TE ROM. But it's continued since then... so here's the issue:
I go into work and turn the phone onto vibrate. After I leave work, I switch back to sound on (ring & vibrate). Even though the icon shows the sound is back on, it's not. It only vibrates. It acts as if the speaker is still asleep.
So for awhile I'd have to reset my phone every day to get it working again until I realized I can go into sound settings / notifications and I find that the phone's jumped back to the default ringtone and more than that, I have to literally push PLAY to test the sound in order for the speaker to "wake up" if you will. Then the phone's fine until the next day.
Ok so back to present:
I got fed up and thought it was Shadow TE. So I flashed CRC's v9.2 ROM. Still had the same speaker issue! I was advised to flash a shipped rom.... which I did.... and flashed CRC's v11. Issue still remains.
I've searched the board and could only find one other person make mention of this a couple years ago and no one ever addressed it. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'd appreciate it greatly.
Same problem here with a custom Titan ROM. Installed the same software as every other ROM that I've used so the problem must be in the ROM somewhere.

Could be... but why does no one else seem to have this issue? Wouldn't there be tons of people replying here?
I did find that instead of switching it to vibe when I arrive at work, I switch it to silent... and SOMETIMES when I go back to Sound it works ok for a few hours but then it goes back to silent without warning so I miss calls and texts a lot. Might as well force the sound back on through Notifications Menu anyway. I'm SO getting away from Windows Mobile ASAP.
As soon as the Blackberry Bold is released here in the US, I'm buying it.... unless something about it disappoints me, in which case I'll settle for the iPhone 3G. The Bold can't come soon enough.
Who would like to claim this Hermes when I'm through with it? What are you willing to pay?
Try making sure that your ringers are in the windows\rings folder. Saw it somewhere else and it seems to be working.

Hmm... I tried putting them in, like, 4 places... but none of them seemed to be that location. I'm doing it now and I'll test tomorrow. Thanks for the tip.... i hope it works.

Bluetooth disconnects

(Hope I dont dubble post now)
I had some issues with my BT headset (SE DS-205). It disconnected my link to the phone between calls, not everytime but close enough. It was annoying as hell!
(Might be that I ****ed something up when I "customized" my phone, but couldnt find anything ) *grin*
But since I changed my dialer-pad to HTC Touch HD dialerpad. My problem is gone! And the dialer feels better all together.

For "between calls", you mean "during" calls or after calls "end"? For the former one, I don't think we have the same problem, while for the latter one, please refer to this thread.
I just received response from Sonyericsson. The main part is:
"Unfortunately we can advise that this is the normal functionality for your products and is standard across all phones and headsets, the play/stop button will be needed to reconnect, this has been enabled as a a power save feature."
It seems there is always a reason--Oh, it's normal, you have to accept it! It doesn't make any sense at all. Also it seems they are not gonna focus on it, and probably the fix has been stillborn.

[Q] Fix for headset 1 speaker only?

Hey guys, has anyone figured out a fix for the headset problem where you only can hear from the left ear speaker and it's at a very low volume?

i am usin a bluetooth stereo headset, the sony ericsoon mw600, and i don't have any issues with it. Always listening to music and sound comes from both earbuds.
The problem lies in when you try and make a phonecall. For music I'm golden, It's only when I try and make a call that the fail begins...
This has been reported and is in the list of fixes for the next update.
Same problem...
Exactly the same...discovered such a consistent problem with the earphones with the calls myself. This relates to a software problem or device difference I think. Since this is a beta problems surely will exist. In addition the other party has difficulty hearing my voice from the earphones microfone. Only left earphone is working. However I recall in the first days of the usage; having spoken without problems with the earphones (both working). Do you have sound enhancer installed? Have you changed any settings. I will try default settings and an uninstallation tomorrow since it has no functionality (not working at all). Will report later...see ya all
I know it's been reported, I was one of the first to report it. Just seeing if there is a fix I missed.
Well, I've flashed WinMo7 a few times now and noticed that the headset workes fine and dandy up untill I activate XBOX live. Immediantly afterwords the headset problem begins. Im sure this will all be fixed with an update. Just curious if anyone knows of a quickfix I might have missed.
By the way, I think I kinda love WinMo7.
Thanks guys
