Can't save video to storage card - not an option - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

I can’t save video to the "storage card" it doesn't give me that option anymore – only options are “main memory” or “network”
I’ve seen the previous post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=50588&highlight=
but this didn’t help - how do I disable network folder option. then re-enable it after.”
I don’t have Pocket LAN installed or any LAN *.* but I recently installed “Resco Explorer”
Any guidance is appreciated.

changing storage path of camera pictures from main memory

Hi,
I have a Cingular 8125. I want to chang storage path of camera pictures from main memory to Storage Card (mini sd), any way of doing this. In camera tools settings, the only options I get is Main Memory or Network. I updated my ROM to cingular 2.25
This has been covered several times. You need to remove whatever you installed that gives you the "Network" option. The camera App is only expecting to see 2 places to store photos.
Search "Camera Storage Network", you'll see the discussions.
Thanks, did a search for Camera Network storage, find nothing, I remove Pocket Lan and still not able to delete the NETWORK folder. Please help. Thanks
Searching for "Camera Storage Network" (I told it to find all, limited the results to 1 page of posts) in the Wizard Forum I found this topic:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?p=283551&highlight=camera+storage+network#283551
Looks like there are still some residual registry settings left over from Pocket LAN.
I'd say reinstall pocket lan then unselect the setting.
This is bad, so that means everytime I want to save pics to the storage card, I have to go to pocket lan, and remove enable network folder, reboot my 8125, there isn't a tweak to enable storage card as second or primary storage for the camera pics? Thanks for your help
The problem is that the application populates the dropdown in alphabetical order and only expects to see 2 options. There is not a registry hack that can change poor programming.

O2 Mini - Removing access to Bluetooth and Wifi

Hi
I've been looking through the forums and can find plenty to solve bluetooth transfer problems, but I am after the opposite. I am trying to lock out access to the following, but can't find anything on the web (unless I have missed it).
Comm Manager (icon on PPC Desktop)
Bluetooth (from Settings -> Connections menu too)
Wi-Fi (from Settings -> Connections menu too)
MMS - if this is possible
PocketMSN
Beam (from Settings -> Connections menu)
Wireless LAN (from Settings -> Connections menu)
Also, if possible, does anyone know how to hide the shortcut for the 'Clear Storage' option, or hiding the passcode it asks for so you still have to enter it, but it doesn't tell you what to enter?
Any help would be gratefully received.
Thanks in advance

Using Wi-fi - Won't find any websites.

I am having real trouble accessing any websites.
I have tried using my own wireless router (unsecured to aleviate complications). Even though there is a supremely strong signal the dialogue box pops up and "always" tells me unable to find website (or along those lines). The websites I am trying to access are very well known.
I have an SPV-M3100 (unlocked) - it runs my O2 contract sim card. All the software appears to be Orange issue. It is running WM6.
This might be a stupid question - Do I need to connect to the web using an O2 connection or can I use the Orange World one? I figured it's got to be similar to using my Virginmedia broadband connection to check my old BTYahoo emails or does it not work like that?
I am completely at a loss with PDA's.
If I need to use an O2 connection for my O2 Sim could someone please point me in the right direction for finding those settings.
Many huge thanks in anticipation.

Lots of questions, lots of anwers.....
Hi,
Let me try and point you in the right direction....

Unlikely that it's got "Orange issue" software on a device that's been upgraded to WM6 - the WM6 ROMs are generic and not operator specific (unless the Orange software has been loaded from the ExtROM...possible, I guess). Check your OS version in Start | Settings | System Tab | Device Information - look at ROM version & date. Also check in Start | Settings | System Tab | About - look at the first line and the OS build no.
Next you ask about connecting to the web using O2 or Orange connection, but your post title mentions Wi-Fi

If you're connecting to the net via Wi-Fi, then you're not using the operator's (O2) network, you're using your own broadband connection. Go to Start | Settings | Connection tab | Wi-Fi | Network adapters tab and make sure it says that the network card connects to "The Internet".
Then you ask about what connection settings you need - and yes, if you're using an O2 SIM, then you need the O2 network settings on your phone. Download them from >HERE< (The O2 UK settings at the end of the first post); copy them to your phone and tap on the file to install the settings. Then you need to power off your phone (hold the power button in until it asks you if you want to power off) and then power it on again.
Hopefully, once all of the above has been checked/completed, you should be able to access the web via Wi-Fi (when available) and via O2-GPRS when there's no Wi-Fi. You didn't say if your O2 SIM was a 3G-capable USIM, but if it is, then you'll be able to connect to the web via 3G too!
Post back with your results; I'd be interested to know if this little lot sorts the problem out for you
Cheers,
Mark.
Come here if you need to know what's what!
Those muppets in the Orange Shop - "Yeah right mate - your handset's already got WM6". You're the one that's right Mark - It's WM5.
I understand from reading around that .CAB files should be downloaded directly to you unit. When I choose <save> then select the directory it doesn't show <mobile device> or the device name.

Can anyone help please?
If you need more info just ask.

You can either copy a CAB file from your PC to your device using the "Explore" part of Activesync or download it from t'internet directly to your device. In either case, just make sure you put it somewhere you remember, coz you'll need to use File Explorer on the phone to find it again!!
If you're downloading directly to the phone, you get the option to "open file after download" - choose that and then click on "Save As"!! The "Save As" dialog has four dropdown boxes on; the first one is the file name, the second one is the folder (and contains a list of the folders in the current "location"), the third is the extension (can't change this!) and the fourth is the location - this is where you choose Main Memory, Storage Card etc. Choose the location first and the list of folders will change to show all folders in that location; choose the desired folder and hit "Save".
Once the CAB file has downloaded to the location you chose, it will open and begin installing; if you're installing - for example the O2 operator CAB - choose to install to "Device". Once installed, hold the power button to turn the device off (and save all the registry changes etc. you've just made!), then turn it on again.
That should do it!!

Can't reach \\UNC path while on WiFi

This is my premiere post on xda.
I don't seem to figure out how to access my network shares through the HD2 filemanager.
Everytime I try to go to Filemanager\Menu\GoTo\Open path\New Path ... and state something like: \\Server\Share and hit Go. I end up with a stopsign.
"It's not possible to connect" I'm then presented with 2 choices.. "Settings" and "Close"
Heading towards settings brings me to "connections", and I probably have something not quite right there.
I have two sections. My PhoneCompany Internet Settings and "My worknetwork". However I'm only able to play with Modem, VPN or Proxies there. Can't really figure out what to do here.
Anyone with the key to success willing to share this divine knowledge?
I can connect to a share using a UNC path over WIFI with no problem. I don't use the inbuilt file manager, I'm using Total Commander.
I shared a folder on my desktop PC (Windows 7) and the put the path (\\PC-Name\Share-Name\), username and password into the LAN settings in TC and it connected right away.
I use it quite a bit to transfer files to/from PC and phone.
Give TC a go. Linky
You don't need Total Commander at all.
To get File manager to connect to shares over Wifi, do this...
Go to the Settings tab, then touch MENU, All Settings
Touch CONNECTIONS
Touch CONNECTIONS
Touch the ADVANCED tab
Touch SELECT NETWORKS
You will see two separate settings, one for "Programs that connect automatically to the Internet" and one for "Programs that connect automatically to a private network".
You will probably see the top one is set up to connect to your service provider's GPRS (in my case it says "Virgin GPRS").
The bottom one is probaby set to "My Work Network". The problem is, "My Work Network" isn't set up to do anything, it's a dummy setting.
So change it to be the same as the top one, again in my case "Virgin GPRS".
Then touch OK, OK, OK, X
Now you can go into File Explorer and connect to your file shares on your PC, using...
MENU, Go To, Open Path, New Path...
Type in \\servername\sharename
and unless your security is set up wrong, it should connect.
Hope this works for everyone.
Incidentally, when you try to connect, you may find it first connects to your service provider, but then it uses the Wifi. Don't panic!

Network folder prevents voice recording.

Network folder prevents voice recording.
With Resco Explorer menu / options / add / Network, I plugged "Make available the Network folder for other programs, for connecting with the PC via WiFi;
The activation of the folder "Network" stops the voice recorder, which no longer has access to the sd, which in turn in "Settings / sd card and phone memory" indicates the levels of memory total / used / available values "00."
Just off the folder "Network" everything returns to normal.
There is a possibility to done away with this incompatibility?
Thanks for all your advice.
Hello
P.S. and the translation of google. I beg your pardon.
