Hi mates
Somehow my friends' wizard stuck at Flight mode and I cannot make or receive calls.
Everytime i enable phone,it turn back to flight mode. But the signal bar showed that i full signal and even it can show my cariier. But i cant make any setting in Phone, such as Network selection becase it say phone in flight mode. Turn off flight mode, it automatically turn flight mode on!!!
Weird.
I flashed it again and again, both radio and OS. Now i have 2.26 IPL, SPL, mr.Clean ROM (lastest), radio (lastest cingular, heard better signal reception)
But still nothing happens, Phone app refuse to work.
Any ideas, please.
What was The solution?
My dell streak is doing the same thing anyone have info on this?

when I turn my XDA II in flight mode, the service light still blinks as if my phone is still on, in order for me to get it to stop blinking and saying the phone is on I have to figit around with it such as trying to make an outgoing call, then about a minute later it realizes I shut the phone in flight mode. Also randomly when I'm using my phone sometimes it will come out of flightmode and try to find a service connection. Does anyone have these same issues as I?

I have the same problem...
even when it goes in flight mode, if you soft reset your device, my phone will be back ON
hope someone can help
I found a way to fix, you need to use 1.17 radio rom not 1.18, I uploaded the rom in the downloads section @ zevink.com
Thanks
it worked
just a note for info:
don't be surprised if you have an intermittent reconnection problem in gprs using v1.17. the way out is a soft reset.
in xda II, v1.17 & v1.18 radio roms have these problems of gprs reconnect & flight mode respectively. interestingly, Qtek users have no such problems.
most xda II users use radio rom v1.08, v1.10, etc. not the v1.17 & v1.18!
On my K-Jam when coming out of flight mode after a flight the signal strength meter shows no signal but I'm in a strong signal area and I can make and receive call fine. Switching the device off and on restores the signal meter.
Anybody else seeing this?
do you have anything installed that displays stuff on the top bars? maybe it's just a re-draw problem. if it doesn't affect performance then maybe it is ok?
No nothing installed which uses the top bar.
So, am I the only one with this problem? I am trying to stablish whether this is a WM% issue or due to something I have installed on my device.
anything that affects the radios then [i.e. stuff that turn on or off the BT/Telephone/WiFi]???
Only PPCProfilespro. I can try removing that I guess. will let you know.
i had a similar problem with older PPC phone. It would not turn the phone part back up, if my battery is low. Plug it in to a charger and it's back to normal.
Same problem here with an 8125 - need to reboot after using flight mode to get phone connected again. Means turning off and then soft booting vs flight mode is the best way to get on/off a plane. Annoying - the RIM guys are up and running instantly.
I've also seen this on my kjam a few times.
It doesn't show any signal bars but the green led flashes which indicates that there is a signal and i can make calls or send msgs!
Either a soft reset restores it back or by turnin Flight Mode on and off again..
how do u put the 8125 into flight mode
Well I uninstalled my PPCProfile Pro and it still does it. I then tried with another profiler (Phone alarms) and same thing. I think this is as MS software problem by the looks of it.
After flight mode it recovers... eventually
One of the things I've found is that if, after leaving flight mode, you just leave the phone for a while (at least 5-10 minutes) it eventually seems to show the signal strength properly.
Of course, that's a pain, so I usually just soft reset it.
When you say that it's showing the "..." and you can still make calls, do you know if GPRS also works? And, what about incoming calls?
Thanks!
sorry a bit offtopic: i can't find the thread with the GSM Test Mode (Reg-Hack, calling a phone-number...). Anybody has a link please?
Since I've loaded the 2.25 ROM I've noticed that after the phone has been in standby mode for a while and I reactivate it the signal will show as the same as when I last turned it off. Not until I reenter my password will it refresh and show me that there is currently no signal. Then it will have x's and never connect until I switch to fight mode and then off of flight mode.
This is really frustrating. Is this typical? Is there anyway to fix it so that it shows what the phone signal actually is when you reactivate the device? And is there any way other than going in and out of flight mode to regain the signal?
Thanks everyone,
Todd
Woops....I meant Cingular 8125 2.25 ROM
Hi all,
I have discovered an annoying bug on my HD2 when I got off a plane the other day and pushed the 'Airplane Mode - Resume wireless connections' - all that happened was that my Wifi turned itself on (it was off before the flight) and the phone itself stayed in off-line mode.
I rebooted the phone several times to no avail, every time all that happened was that the WiFi would activate every time I tried to deactivate the Airplane mode. When I deactivated the WiFi it went back into Airplane mode!
The only solution I found was to go to All settings - Personal - Phone then use the WM confirmation pop up screen to activate the phone. It seems the sense UI has a nasty bug there.
Hope this helps someone
I have a similar problem on my hd2:
Over night i let go my device into airplane mode (night-profile) with phone weaver 2.0 -- phone off, all connections off
The next morning i let go my phone into the day-profile and automatic enter my pin. But sometimes my phone connection can´t be activated - not with phone weaver and even not with the commanger in sense.
I have ti softreset my device - then it´s working again.
Is this a driver related problem? I had this issue with radio-rom 2.04, 2.05 and 2.07. Also with stock-rom 1.48 and custom-rom 1.66.
Anybody have had this issue? It likely has something to do with the ROM I am using, as I the problem has somewhat disappeared before when I was in 2.1 (but a bunch of severe problems I have had with 2.1 make it otherwise unusable). Is there a way I can further troubleshoot this by either flashing specific portions of the rom or by digging through engineering mode? (by the way, how do I enable the engineering options?)
Basically, if I shut my phone down outside airplane mode, then when I start my phone up it goes to the carrier splash screen, then the capacitive buttons blink and the thing shuts down. If I start up in airplane mode, then the moment I leave it the capacitive buttons blink, the service indicator goes from 'airplane mode' to 'no service', and it shuts down.
I am using a beta streak on Softbank mobile, Japan.
Have you tried it with a different sim? Just thinking that the sim itself might be causing it or that it might be something to do with beta units having their 3g service terminated elsewhere?
Haven't tried it with a different sim, but I know there isn't any special problems with the sim I use as it works just fine on my other phone.
I have got it to work occasionally, but if I turn my phone off its an excruciatingly long process of removing my sim card, turning the phone on, turning on airplane mode, setting it to GSM only (there's not GSM service in Japan), turning my phone off, re-inserting the sim card, turning the phone back on, turning off airplane mode, turning off data connection, and setting it to WCDMA. At that point it usually shuts down, so I have to restart the process until it works.
I REALLY don't want to have to do this every time my phone shuts down or overheats (which it does a lot of!)
