i have searched through the forums and maybe i search poorly and couldnt find what i was looking for.. so i apologize if this issue has been tackled already....
Anyway.. on the new 2.25 rom it appears that you have an option on the usb switch.. well i am an avid user of SOTI pocket controller and noticed that the only way i can get SOTI to connect is to switch the usb to RNDIS instead of serial... well it appears that anytime i reboot my 8125 it defaults back to serial... My question is this... is there anyway i can fix this to RNDIS? maybe a reg edit or something??? Or maybe something i am missing in SOTI to connect via serial... Please help!
BUMP...
Anyone?!?!?
I solved my own issue... in case anyone is wanting to know this... I upgraded to the Molski rom 2.26.10.2 WWE and in the settings menu there is now a feature USB TO PC, if you check Enable Advance Network Functionality then it will default to RNDIS

So people... Here's where i'm at...
I Boot into KITL and select the OK button on the left side. It comes up with "USB KITL" and shows up on the PC in Device Manager. But it just hangs there in KITL mode. If i softboot, it looses the setting.
If i select the PPT button while in KITL Mode, it selects "ETH KITL" and then boots into WM5 and does NOT show up on the PC.
I have also tried to install WM6 via SDcard with success, but still no USB connectivity. And the Cingular WM6 does not have KITL enabled.
Please let me know if anyone knows how to select "USB KITL" and save the setting...OR......Install WM6 via SDcard with KITL settings enabled, Otherwise my 8525 wont show up when connected.
My Problem lies in KITL!!!

QUESTION
Does anyone know an image of WM6 for Hermes that has KITL enabled? Please let me know. I have tried cingular's new build, and Schap's 3.57a.
Otherwise, I have managed to sync via live to get my contacts back, but I'd really like to see what happens if I have a way to access KITL with WM6 involved to see if it will make my USB port functional again. So far, the only build that I know has KITL enabled is WM5 ATT build.
thanks in advance and thanks for showing me how great this community is. I've learned a lot over this past week.

Hi,
i've installed the new ROM from udK. Also with his previous ROM i've used (r7) i had troubles with WiFi. It just wont enable.
Neither via commManager as via the settings menu. If i click the "Turn on Wireless LAN" option in the settings menu simply nothing happens.
Can anyone help me out with this? Where can I find some logfiles about this? I'm really stuck!
in the meanwhile i tried multiple rom's multiple radio rom's.. nothing works, is it broken???
rgds
Try doing it when youre not connected to PC via ActiveSync. Seems there is a conflict between ActiveSync and COM Manager/WiFi in the newest udK rom.
thx for you reply, but im not connected with usb or activesync.. I think its broken?
*bump* ;
someone any ideas on this, how to debug wifi or whatever?? or do I have to send it to HTC for repairs?
the 3 options for usb to pc pops up when hd is connected to PC.
But if I want to reconnect to mode e.g: disk driver mode, how could I achieve
this without plugout&plugin the usb cable? Thank you.
you can softreset your phone after changing mode
otherwise you can't as far as I know
Yes you can!
Start -> Settings -> Connections tab -> USB to PC
Select what you need and the device will switch to that mode without any resets or replugging of the cable.
usb2pc doesn't include the internet shareing as usb2pcpopup.
There should be InternetSharing program in your start menu (I have Dutty's 3.3 ROM, I don't remember whether this program is stock or not, but I think it is). If you're connected to pc as activesync / usb drive just launch InternetSharing and the phone will switch to modem automatically. Once you disconnect IS the phone will go back to the activesync / usb drive mode.
Don't be afraid to explore your device (and the manual ) - it looks like you don't know about a lot of its features.
I have just flashed back to the official ROM.
The usb2pc do have 3 options. But the cooked rom like Dutty's 3.3 ROM
have only 2 options without internet sharing.
I am aware that I could run share internect, but it is much better if things
can be controlled in under one control page.
Ok, I'm having a problem with this feature... The USB to PC popup is stuck on internet sharing and it won't let me activesync and it's just really starting to make me angry... argh... I've tried going into the registry to change it but I don't know which value to change. I would love to disable the usb to pc altogether except activesync functions. Could anyone help me? I'm using 6.5 v23017.
Nevermind...lol I fixed it. I manually put it in bootloader mode, and flashed athiene os v23409.
yeah and i dont think that the ics option will appear unless ur phone has been given it sim info

Is there a solution to set it back to Active Sync without Internet Sharing other than flashing a new ROM?
I do not get the USB2PC-Popup anymore and my USB2PC dialog (Settings->Connection->USB2PC) is somehow incomplete (Can't see the "Ask me first .."-Dialog).
Is there a registry hack or something? I'v been googling for hours and I'm pretty sick of it right now.
Appreciate any help, thank you guys.
// edit says:
Found a registry entry:
HKLM\Software\OEM\USBtoPC
my Values are:
AskConnect: 1
Device_Type: 2
DisablePopUpUI: 0
EnableAdvanceChecked: 0
SyncMode: 1
Still nothing ...
//:edit 2
Yeah, well ... I flashed it.
Hi,my usb port is broken and i am unable to Activesyn/Recharge my phone anymore.I've got an external charger for battery recharging but didn't find any solution for ActiveSync.
I want to know can i use ActivesynC with a bluetooth connection?
Also is there any alternate way to flash new Roms into my mobile without a USB Connection?
I am using Imate-K Jam with windows Mobile 6.1 installed. The Rom version is TNT 1620.
Please Help
no the bluetooth stack is a part of the rom
you can't use part of the rom to exchange the rom
as the rom is cleared before the flash of a new rom starts
think sawing over the branch you're sitting on
Thanks for reply Rudegar. So the question is how can i flash a new ROM without a USB Cable connection? Is there any possibility to do that?
As i mentioned earlier, the USB port of my device is damaged and can't be repaired anymore.I wonder what to do now.Should i scrap my MDA and look for a new device?
Unless you're skilled enough to fix/change the usb port*, I think you're stuck.
*I know I'm not, but I'm sure there must be someone out there who could shed some light on it.
maybe this could give some help about doing stuff using the sdcard

After an upgrade on the old xda iis from wm 2003 to wm5 my wifi will not turn on. When I click on the wireless manager icon nothing happens. Am I missing a driver or software? If so where can I download the fix?
I read some of the posts in this forums and someone suggested to check the registry keys, being a dumb arse, how do you check registry on a pda?
Hopefully its a driver issue and I will not be required to enter the registry.
Cheers for any help
All fixed
