xda exec password issues - JAMin, XDA Neo, S200 General

hi

1) if i can put a password on the SD card.
2) if i can place a password on a folder (has large files)
3) place password on my text message files.
4) a password wallet where i can store my passwords.
Is there a software that does all this. I have tried searching through other threads but could'nt find anything I have purchased so many softwares but they dont do what i want. Im quite tired of paying for the softwares then finding out they dont do everything that i need. Can some one direct me please. could someone give me a download link of the file etc

yes and no....the yes part first....if you use your storage card and phone like a portable drive then you can store all the apps you have room for....wm5trorage is great to use in this way....also certain flash apps will run...( i dont know which ones ...google is your friend here) ....on the no side...I haven't heard of or come across any knowledge of any app working directly from within the mobile environment....not one that was not altered to do so in some way .....my two pennies....hope they help

two pennies is better than nothing
forgot to mention I know that it's possible from the storage card vantage because for a short while I ran opera portable from my phone that way ....so when I was at work I could use my own browser and minimize my footprint and control my information....worked like a charm...I wonder if it's possible to perhaps put a U3 type program on the phone where one could do more and have it boot on connect........that would be a nice app.... in theory you can put the suite they offer for free at http://portableapps.com haven't tried that but it should work

HTC Hermes system diagnostics

Hello i just saw in one of the threads something about the white screen isue and i disassamble my tytn to repair this isue but i found this thing to test it says that it boots up once with bootloader but here it says that comes on the Micro SD card (provided by HTC) is there a way to download this software from someware?
http://inuchanbt.blog54.fc2.com/blog-entry-100.html
That my friend is the philosopher stone of the Hermes community... You hear about it but you just can't seem to find it on ANY site.... Apparently its supplied to the techs on an sd card but NO-ONE seems to have, or been able to, upload the software.
Cheers...
Hey guys!
Try here: http://8g.cn/Search.aspx?Keywords=htc
I found the UN-Findable Trindiag.nbh here. I was amazed after searching for 2 years, it was here.
Anyways, be sure to browse all 125 items. You can change pages at the bottom. Not sure what it says, since it's Chineese, but I was able to fumble my way through it.
Also, for more info, try changing the tab at the top of the search window and run the search again. I've found more stuff that way.

In time things lose their mystery and turn up!:
hermdiag.nbh
Note this file is the diagnostic nbh, NOT to be confused with nbh files of the same name created by some ROM Chefs. They use this same name because the device automatically looks to load files by this specific name in preference to loading pre-installed software on the phone.

Copy it to the Root of your SD Card and enter BootLoader. But, be aware that it may cause a Hard Reset and possibly clear all your call counters. At least on the Trinity this is how it acts.
Also, be aware that it may cause other damage not mentioned, so use at your own risk... I've used the Trinity & Kaiser versions with no damage, but just know this in case.

Does anyone make it runs on an HTC Tytn? I can't start it in my machine with any bootloader I've tried. I always get the same error: No Image File!

Any chance someone has the diagnostic files for the Vision (specifically, the A7275) ??

I'm also interested in this. I've not got a custom ROM on mine, but have been tempted, so i asked CoPilot support about it. Don't hold your breath on me getting a reply though, as it took 2 weeks for them to get back to me with my last question!
Hopefully, someone on here will be able to point us at a trial download, cos I can't find one anywhere!

How about flashing a stock rom, copying the copilot folder (and other relevant files?) to sd card and then go back to the custom roms...

That's not a guaranteed method. There are most likely files in unexpected locations and registry entries that you wouldn't immediately find. It's worth trying though, but I wouldn't expect it to work completely.
Co Pilot make a great product, in my opinion; however their support, or should I say their speed in reacting to customer queries, leaves a lot to be desired.
I am waiting for a response from them to a query I logged over 2 weeks ago (granted we have had Xmas in between) but I'm not expecting to hear from them until mid January at the earliest.
WB
when I first purchased it I got a download link for a cab and the maps in an email from ALK.
Don't you have that?
Not going to share the cab as it appears to already have my reg number inside it (or at least it's already filled in).
as a secondary route you can back up and restore the programfiles for copilot.
Use Copilot central on your PC on a stock rom to back up, and it will restore fine on your new one..
I've tried this a few times now.

No - it was installed on the device when I got it and I've never had a download link. There was also a bit of literature in the box about CoPilot, and that said that it was pre-installed.

Sorry mate - you can't. It's designed that way on purpose. All you can do is copy the files from the device to the storage card, delete and re-create the shortcut (so it points at the app on the storage card, not the device), and then hope that there's no hard-coded folders in the application or stored in the registry somewhere, otherwise the app simply won't work.

hi mate thanks for that im sorry im pretty useless at this kind of thing how do a copy the files from my device to the card is there a how-too anywhere on here?? cheers

I don't know of any "how to" on here, but it's easy enough to do.
Open File Explorer and find the folder of the installed application. It's VERY likely to be in \Program Files and will most likely be under \company name\application name, or just \application name. Click and hold on the folder in question till you get the menu and select Cut.
Then, browse to the storage card and, if there's not already one there, create a folder called "Program Files" (Menu, New Folder). Go into that folder and go "Menu, Edit, Paste". That copies the folder from the device memory onto the storage card, and also removes it from the device memory.
Then, go into the application folder and find the application itself (you should recognise it from its name & icon). Click and hold on that and select Copy (not cut). Then, browse to the folder \Windows\Start Menu\Programs and go "Menu, Edit, Paste Shortcut".
Okay. You've now got the original shortcut and a new one. The original one is useless because it points to the where the application was installed, so you need to find and delete that one. Then, the new one is called "Shortcut to....". Simply rename it to something more sensible (the name of the app ) and you're done.
It seems a lot when you type it out like this, but once you've done it a couple of times it's a doddle.
Let us know if you get stuck mate.
Someone answered a similar question for me and mentioned an app called SKTools that moves apps from phone to sd card for you. Any use? I think it is paid software though

To be honest mate, if you're just after apps and don't want them installed on the device (which is fair enough), just don't use MarketPlace. This thread...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=528
...is jam packed full of stuff, and it's normal installers, so you can generally install it on the storage card. Also, the obvious google will turn up most apps you can think of. I used MarketPlace and found a few things I liked, but hardly anything that wasn't available elsewhere, and usually freeware!
This forum is split into forums by device, and each of them has a general forum, an accessories forum, a ROM dev forum, and a themes and apps forum. In both the general and the themes and apps forums you'll find things that people have developed themselves. The problem with this is that you'll have someone with a Raphael, for example, that posts an app in the Raphael themes and apps forum, but it should actually be in the windows apps forum as it's not Raphael specific - it will actually work on any WM6+ device (this obviously isn't always the case - it's just an example). This means it can be a lengthy process finding things on here, but it's worth getting good at searching, as your initial searches will probably return thousands of threads with hardly anything relevant looking in the results.
Just use this forum. It's a great place.

Can anybody share CorePlayer

I've searched up and down this forum as well as Google but cannot find the app. I have a M3U file that I want to stream from my phone but I need CorePlayer to do so. Can anybody share or provide a link for a free download. Thanks.
Core player is software you have to buy. you can find it here: http://coreplayer.com/
cracked programs / warez are not permitted on this forum, fyi.

If memory serves me correctly, you can do the same thing with TCPMP. Do a search on here and you will find it. I am most certain that I have used it for streaming police scanner M3U files a couple of months ago.
CorePlayer is commercial software that you must purchase, TCPMP is free and is the source from which CorePlayer sprang.

Yup, thats what I want for as well.
I installed TCPMP_0.72_RC1 but I get an error message when I try opening it. It reads: "Unexpected program failure. Please send "crash.txt" to the developers. Program will now exit"
I don't know what the problem is. I have read other people having the same problem and I cannot find a solution. Can anybody help with this?

Any chance you have it installed to a storage card, and that storage card had previously had tcpmp installed on it but on a different phone? If so, some of the settings (which are preserved even when uninstalling) may be causing problems. If that's the case, go into your storage card and delete the entire tcpmp folder (after uninstalling) and try to install it again...

Sorry for the late reply.. but no, there is no need to install to storage card, other than saving space. Installing it to a card was the only way I could think of that would make "left over" settings as the culprit to your problems. Hope you got this sorted out by now. Cheers
