Hi there,
This is regarding an MDA compact II with Windows mobile v 5.0 OS 5.1.70 and processor OMAP850-195MHZ. I connected my phone using USB cable with my friend's computer and my friend uses an XDA executive by O2 and he had already synchronized his phone with his PC. The problem is that my MDA has lost all the sounds ever since.
I tried to sync my phone to his computer using Active Sync and i did get sound back alongwith all his information and software, but the moment i deleted a few of his contacts from my phone i lost the sound again.
After this I have synchronized the phone to my Pc which had the original settings but it didn't help. I also did 'Clear Storage' to get back to factory settings, I lost all my information but still haven't got the sound back.
Can anybody help me with this. Thanks in advance.
Cheers!

Thanks!
Bye
I use the 1.6 WWE ROM on my O2 XDAII and can get ActiveSync etc working fine without installing the BLuetooth tools software. I had a few problems to begin with though after the upgrade, but solved them by removing all the bondings and partnerships between XDA and PC. After that, go through the ActiveSync setup wizard in Start, Settings, System, Bluetooth settings. When you are there, note the serial COM ports that the Bluetooth connection will use, as mine changed after the upgrade and had to be changed to reflect that in ActiveSync on the PC.
Hope that helps,
Rob.
Hey all,
i've tried to recieve files over BT from Nokia 7610 & 6230 with no luck.
(both of them did send files each other and did recieve files from my device)
does anyone else has this problem?
i have an XdaII mini..
Thanks ahead,
Lior.
even with Receive all incoming beams and Bluetooth On I cannot receive any files from my desktop. I think this is because MS BT stack is a bit crippled. I can send files to and from my h2210 iPAQ just fine.
@bnycastro
how do you send files from the xda to the 2210? and vice-versa? i don't have an option to send files via BT in the file explorer, only beam file. thanks!
Just use the beam file and make sure bluetooh is on; the XDA will search for other BT devices then will display 'tap to send'
If you right click on a file on your PC then go down to 'send to' Bletooth device should come up (Windows XP SP2) Make sure the XDA is set to discoverable and you should be able to send the file to it
big thanks nikpro!

I have an imate PDA2K which does not have the Bluetooth Settings under the system tab.
I have been able to get the bluetooth paired, a bluetooth serial port setup, active synch setup, etc.
I get as far as the device connecting, but then it just hangs. I can leave it there for 20 minutes and it still just hangs. I tell it to just synch calender and hangs.
Anybody have any ideas?
P.S - I have tried on multiple different machines. They are all running on Windows 2000 SP4, Active Synch 3.8 and the latest iMate rom. Using Outlook 2002 and Outlook 2003.
Hi
I've tried activesyncing on my T-mobile MDA compact, but it's not connecting. I can successfully bind to the device and created a bt serial port, but nothing happens.
Has anyone done this successfully?
Windows XP Pro
Activesync (tried 3.7.1. and 3.8)
MDA Compact (1.01.00 WWE)
Thanks
Z
I notice that you need to delete and re-pair the bluetooth devices, in order for activeysnc to work. Sometimes even to the extend of delete/re-pair 3-4 times before it responds.
Luckily this is only one time (after each hard reset), but I would be interested to know why.
Hi, jus got my new T-mobile Vario 2 , this is my second post and i am sorry to sound like such a noob! Isit possible to connect to my laptop an sync my device via the inbuilt bluetooth on my laptop! also does anyone rate the i-mate jasjam rom? t-mobile one seems ok for now!
Hi @zReAl_uK
I messed around with Active Sync on my Vario II for a while to get it to work. Couple of things I discovered:
1) the ActiveSync version on the T-Mobile CD wouldn't work, I needed to upgrade it to 4.2
2) the Bluetooth sync doesn't sync files - only mail/contacts info, so i actually found the USB connection more straightforward (besides by mail/contacts are always synched using DirectPush)
