wmodem any version.

hello here ,
i really need your help. i've hearded alot and and searched alot about that wmodem software that will allow me to connect my laptop to my xda to dial the net .. i just don't know how to get that software (wmodem). i read such software is avalaible when you upgrade your rom. isn't there away to get the software without upgrading it ?? is there any upgrad for 2003 or special edition where i can have that software with.? please let me know .. thanx

It's not available under any version 4.x ROM. Some of the older 3.x ROMs that are available in various kitchens may have it, as well as the Special Edition ROM, which was based on the O2 3.x ROM. Alas, the switch to WM2003 put the kibash on it. See this thread for more:

Got an idea....the newer 4.00.33 German ROM has WModem in it. This is WM2003, so could you take the files from this ROM and load them into an ENG version? I have no need for the WModem software, but maybe someone else can give this a shot and let everyone know.

Any updates on this?
Has any progress been made in pulling Wmodem forom the WM2003 German Rom? Can someone post a link to the Rom in question so I can take a swing at it? Does anyone know if it is even working on the German Rom or if they just included the same version from the WM2002 Roms assuming that it would work? Sorry for the flurry of questions, just very anxious to see if this works.

I tried it but it didn't work
I flashed 4.00.33 (german rom) to my device, copied the wmodem.exe file to an sd card, then flashed my device with 4.01.00 (t-mobile english rom) and copied the wmodem.exe file from the sd card to the device. I connected my xda to my computer with a serial cable, opened the wmodem program on the device, chose serial connection and hit start. I then tried to connect on my computer but nothing happened (no connection, no error message on the xda). For the record I currently use wmodem with the xda developers special edition rom flashed onto my device so I know that my settings are correct.
I'm guessing but perhaps there's a driver file for the 2003 version of wmodem.exe. I could not find any other file in the german rom that looked like it was associated with wmodem. Perhaps someone can determine if there is a driver file needed for this version of wmodem to run. If so, we can extract it along with the wmodem.exe file from the german rom and try again.

what about just using the german rom ?
might be a stupid question, but is the WM2003 german, actually in german or english ?
will a german rom work with a usa t-mobile account ?

and it will work with TMO as long as u dont screw with a diferent country's RS

iv seen some web pages about the new smart phones with wmodem on it that can use usb to connect

I have just updated my Siemens SX56 (AT&T US) with WM 2003. I downloaded a copy of wmodem from a URL in this form. I have tried both IRDA and Serial cable from Windows XP laptop with no luck.
I can get the computer to talk to the phone (icon flashes in wmodem) but it appears that the phone cannot reply (I have used hyper terminal too).
Has anyone gotten this to work? If so what wmodem version? Any suggestions on the command line parameters would be helpful.

What about the XDA II WModem?
What about getting a copy of the Wireless Modem program from an XDA II? I know O2 includes this, so surely someone here has a copy of it. Additionally, it has USB support!

New version of WModem
You guys probably already have this, but I found a new version of WModem (2.0.5.2). I can't get it to run on PPC2002, but it may work on WM2003. I believe it came from the XDA II. Let me know if you have any success. I've also included the USB Modem driver and dialer needed for USB connectivity. Good luck!

it is from a german 33 modem. can someone post a wmodem from an xda II together with a clean registry snap ?

wireless modem program NOT included in t-mob's wm2003 upgrad

I just checked under start->programs as well as in the file explorer and it just not there.... this sucks! Can i just download the program somehow?
I have the original upgrade (the one they took down after like a day)

I don't know if missing wireless modem on English wm 2003 is badwill or disability of operators. Only German T-mobile wm 2003 ver.4.00.33 has wmodem, but only in german language.

Actually Wireless Modem is not included in any WM2003 Releases... And if u manage to get it and put it on ure device it wont start or work as it should.
So i think not T Mobile is to be blamed...

as everybody might know about 32mb is the amount of free ram on a magician after a clean install.. maybe this rom would work on the magician too? anybody care to try

Windows Mobile on a MDA Compact ???? How? where? Who?
Yeah i like to know this too: the posts say its working on a magician Jam,(also MDA Compact) But i cannot seem to find out how, where to get it, where to find a step by step for WM2005 on a MDA Compact...???

New Austrian T-Mobile Rom available

Hi all,
there's a new ROM-Update available for Austrian Magicians aka MDA compact (Version 1.12.01 - btw, the first one that TMA offers).
You can download the 42MB update here directly from T-Mobile Austria (german site).
But take care, the update includes a new bug: After installing the update, it won't be possible to add trustworthy certificates (as used by ActiveSync when remotely to a server).

I'm about to buy a TMA MDA compact, and as I'm kind of an update-o-holic, the first thing I'm gonna do is update the hack out of this nice little device
I've read quite a lot of threads in various forums, but still a lot of questions remain.
1.
there are several 'versions' of the ROM update, which one is the "best", or - in other words - which one is the one I should install ?
(or there country differences ?)
2.
before upgrading, I'd like to backup everything that is by default on the new, fresh MDAc. Can I use Sprite to do so ? If yes, are there any special settings that have to be used ?
3.
I'd also like to get rid of the TMA-branding. Do I have to perform the necessary steps right while turning it off the very first time ?
(turn it on and before it installs the software, perform a soft reset)
If so, what do I have to do after the softreset?
(though I'm pretty experienced when it comes to PCs, I'm a noob WRT pocket PCSs...)
I've read several posts about Autoinstaller (1.61).
Do you advice to use this tool, and if yes, is there anything I should know before starting it ?
(I've searched, but couldn't find a real manual for the tool)

as I've understood it so far, the Bigstorage_update is kind of a OS-hack, which allows you to access memory that you can normally not access.
Does that mean that you loose the data that this extended ROM normally contains, or can you only access the free available space that's left (more safe) ?
Is there any noob-compatible step-by-step instruction how to _safely_ update the MDAc to the latest version (incl. all side-effects that might occur).

Qtek S200 Shipped CD Rom no use

The S200 ships with an extra CD Rom called "Application CD" which I believe has a GPRS monitor on it, when I have tried to install this it says that i need a ROM upgrade, anyone experienced this?

Found in the expansys forum that the program is spb gprs monitor... go to spb web site and download the new version.
It worked on mine but you have to pay for it...
