So I just installed skype yesterday, and it ran fine, somehow today when I try to run it, the window busy logo pops up but than it never launches! I tried uninstall than reinstall to my device, than the SD card, but still no luck.... I click on the icon and it just won't launch, I check all my running apps, it's not listed in there......
same thing with my pocketSnes, it will launch fine, but when I try to load any ROM, it will just disappear.
I have 23mb free on my o2 exec and they are all on my device instead of my SD....
can anyone please help or give any suggestions?
thanks in advance.
skype needs lots of rom to run
shut down everything else, if necessary, do a soft reset.

Well after applying a couple tweaks to my KJAM. I have a problem now, I cant uninstall any program. I go to add remove and select remove it then says cant remove, do i want to delete from program list. I also cant reinstall the same app...unless i delete the old directory manually. It seems to me that it is some form of read only protection. any ideas ??
I'm getting the same error as well. I used to have an app on my Jam that would uninstall files and its better then the built in uninstaller. Right now i'm lookin for it but can't remember its name..
i got the same problem
Same here
I have had that problem as well. I have found that if I soft reset the device, then run the uninstall, the program is conmpletely removed without issue. I believe that this error is caused by something related to the program still running in the background.

Tried using ActiveSync to add/remove programs?
I too have the same problem and i soft reset to properly uninstall anything.
You can use SKtools 2.3.30 at http://s-k-tools.com/ to uninstall any program you wish to
works well? thanks for the suggestion
I have an O2 EXEC running the T-Mobile ROM so that Blackberry Connect will work.
Everything is running fine except the Camera application. When I try to run it, I get an error saying something like the program is not signed and cannot run and I should try to re-install it. I have tried replacing the camera.exe app but, as it is a system file on ROM, it will not let me.
Any ideas?
Re-install
Turns out a full flash re-install was required to fix this problem
Hi, after using the weatherpanel trial for the full 15 days, which btw worked flawlessly, I purchased the full version, uninstalled the trial, and reinstalled the full version. Everything installed fine, but it refuses to update. I can surf the internet fine. When i tap "Update" or the "refresh" arrows on the weatherpanel today plugin, nothing happens.
The only difference in installation was that the trial was installed on the device, whereas the full, i installed on my miniSD. But after noticing this, I uninstalled the full and reinstalled on the device, but still the same problems persist.
I ran the diagnostics and I get "AUTH: FAILED".
Does anyone know what might be my problem? Thanks alot in advance.
Nvm. Got it figured out. Just had to remove the check by the proxy settings for gprs. Thanks anyways.
hi, i've got an mda-pro, unlocked and running the latest orange uk roms. i can never uninstall anything properly. i always get the message, this prog wasn't completely uninstalled would you like me to remove it from the installed apps list? anyone got any clues.
cheers

I have this too. It usually takes a soft-reset to free up the application so that I can then uninstall it. Can't figure out why.
Hi,
Use SKTools uninstaller...
Otherwise, a softreset before uninstalling and no more error message...
thanks guys - i'll try both!
Hi, I'm having a problem with an erroneous "out of space" error when trying to install an application. I had Skype 2.0 working on the phone with minor issues for a few days. I then uninstalled it to try a new version and since then, whenever I try to reinstall any version of Skype (even the one from the market), it gives me an out of space error. I can, however, install other applications, so it's clearly not a space issue, as Skype isn't a big application.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
-Rob
Move apps to your sd card
Settings>applications>manage applications>(click on a big app)>move to sd
And your done
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA Premium App
You could also uninstall some apps you use less frequently until you can get Skype installed and then put those other apps back on.
...
Thanks for your replies. The issue here is that I'm 99.9% sure that I actually DO have space to install the application, it just won't install. Other applications will install currently, I've removed a bunch of other applications, and I actually HAD Skype installed two days ago. It's very odd. Any other ideas?
Thanks,
-Rob

Wipe cache and dalvik 3x.
I had the same issue with Skype. It bloated to ~40mb after two or so days, so I uninstalled it. I wasn't able to reinstall it after that, regardless of available space. I have since loaded a rom so I was able to install after everything was wiped, but I never found a way to get it installed before that. Having said that, I didn't really try very hard, because the Skype app annoys me more than anything else I've ever downloaded. I've also re-removed it since I put on the new rom
...
I tried out the cache wipes, but it didn't work, unfortunately.
Gorilla, that is not good news. I suppose I needed an update, anyway...oh well.
Thanks for the help!

I've never personally had the issue, but I've read about applications not installing a second time and throwing this error. It could be some residual files left over from the last installation.
Use a file explorer and search for "skype" and see what pops up. Remove them all. Reboot phone and try installing again.
If you already bought Root Explorer, that should work, but I use Super Manager as it works just the same and is free.
