Qtek 2020 Help - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 General

Hi guys,
I have a problem with my Qtek 2020 (HTC Himalaya) with Model PH10B. It was working well until i had to do a hard reset for making changes to enable clear type text. As i was a total newbie at this i took out the battery to reset it and placed it back in. The PDA never started again. One thing i did notice was that when i took the battery out and place the pda on a charger cable or usb cable, the red light starts emitting, but the pda still does not start. I was skimming through the forums for help and tried to enter the bootloader mode and works stating "Serial" (or "USB" when the USB cable was plugged in) and showing "V1.06" at the bottom by pressing Power + Joystick Center Button. This happens when the battery is connected to the pda.
I installed Microsoft ActiveSync 4.1 and downloaded a new ROM (Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?=13588&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight= Genuine English WM2003 SE upgrade for Himalaya uploaded here). MS ActiveSync never recognised the device, but when plugged in USB, WinXP detected the device as "Microsoft USB Sync" under "Windows CE Devices" in device manager. For the first few times the flash program from HTC said that there was a country ID error, and after patching it with "xda2nbftool" i changed the operator ID to "Qtek" corresponding the brand name of the pda. Still the flash progress said "Country ID error", and after about 10 tries the program flashed successfully and indicated the congratulations screen on the computer. It said to perform a cold boot on the system by pressing the reset button at the bottom and the power button at the top, which i did and still the PDA does not work (but the Bootloader still does). Once i caught a glimpse of the new bootscreen of WM2003 SE with "Testing. Not for sale" but soon faded away.” Whenever I try to flash the PDA again, it always says the “Country ID” Error.
P.S. Originally the PDA was unlocked, and when it originally booted it said the QTEK clouds boot screen followed by the Vodafone (UK) logo. I also updated the driver of the "Microsoft USB Sync device" from the original XP one dated somewhere in 2000, to the new one bundled with ActiveSync 2.1 dated 2004.
Please help me as i am really desperate to make the PDA work.
Thanks.

Is this Rom okay to be flashed to it?

Please how can i flash with the activesync doesn't notice my device and where's NVID Rom
Ok. I'll search for it but please help how can I flash it to the device which doesn't recognized or felt by PC
If your device is in bootloader mode, activesync cannot recognize it but this is normal. Jamin is recognize only as a usb device and you can downgrade it to NVID rom easly.
Then you could upgrade your favorite rom, I suggest PDAVIET 4.0.0.1
Bye for now

The Problem is when I start to flashing a rom a message tells that check if the usb is connected and if the device is connected .
This is happen with the device is connected to the cable and the tricolor screen is flicking . and the device doesn't open doesn't flashing.

If the problem still there, Try to release the battery for 1-3 hours and put it again to the device, go to the boot loader and pray. Hopefully it could work. Actually, this way worked on my Himalaya and Prophet.
Just run the "Step 1" component of the PDAViet ROM (http://rapidshare.com/files/32728615/Prophet_PDAViet_Step1.zip), which is just a plain AKU 2.20 NVID. This will find your device even if its in bootloader mode (it doesnt depend on activesync). Just flash it with that sucker and you should have a working phone on WM5, then you can safely upgrade it to WM6 (or leave it if you like).

Error 260... If i remember correctly that's "cant find device" or something.
Few things to check:
Is the PC you are upgrading on running windows vista?
If so, use a different PC running windows XP.
Have you tried a different USB cable?
If not, do so, this tends to be the cause of problems like this.
Have you checked device manager?
Go to control panel, Administrative tools, computer management, device manager and see if you can find your device. If it has a yellow ! icon on it or is listed as "Unknown device" or anything like that then you may need to reinstall the drivers (int hsi case the easiest way to do that is to reinstall activesync). If everyhting is working properly it should show up as "HTC USB Sync", "PocketPC USB Sync" or something like that under the heading "Mobile Devices".
Have you just plain tried another computer, regardless of the OS?
I found that I could never get my phone to flash on my laptop, but it worked without a problem on my desktop. This is not to say laptop's cant do it, it simply means some computers just have problems like (in my case i believe) no USB 2.0, or too low-powered USB ports.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!! don t let my Universal be DEAD!!!!!!*** HELP ME PLZ!!!

Guys,
I ve just downloaded this http://rapidshare.com/files/21256078..._DUT_11500.rar romversion in the understanding that it was for the HTC 9000 PDA. There was a file called MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe which I let 'upgrade' my 9000. However, I think something very VERY big went wrong! A reset by pushing the 2 buttons and reset button on the back gives me the option 0 to reset but all I can see after that is a black screen which says USB at the top and at the bottom v1.00
What happened and is this the end of my PDA? Sync won t work anymore now since my PDA can t be detected by windows because I can t get in the PDA!!!
Is there something I can do??!!!
PLEASE HELP ME OUT!!!!
Edit/Delete Message
sounds like you're just in bootloader mode
I think you are in what's called bootloader mode. Read the wiki to check - the screen you are describing sounds normal to me you plug you device into the comp via usb (with sync over usb disabled in active sync) then install a new rom.
You really shouldn't have tried to flash your rom without reading some instructions first but I think that your device should be fine.
If you have already upgraded your rom just do a hard reset and select the option to reset.
Will this thread help?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=310056
I'm sorry, this is the thread I ment to link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=310054
strangely enough I found out that I DID use a good version picked from this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=298020 post. In this thread mwang gives a link to here http://buzzdev.net/index.php?option=com_phorum&Itemid=125&phorum_query=read,40,30486,30486#msg-30486 where I picked the dutch version. I than double clicked the MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe file and the software for upgrading started. When he was at 100% he said the the ROM update was completed and that I had to do a reset. So, I than pushed the three buttons (2x the - button and the reset button at the back of the 9000) but all I than see is the bootloader menu with USB and V1.00...........
Sorry for putting it in three sub forum, my fault, but the device is from my work so I don t want it to be screwed up!!!

Rather late now, but if it's owned by your company for work, should you really be di**ing with it?
Solution to probl: Stuck in Bootloader
The one way of fixing your problems....you're officialy stuck in bootloader,
Here's the way to fix it:
1. Stop Activesync USB connection on your machine under connection settings.
2. Uni : Reboot Bootloader then Connect USB ( If your phone isn't in bootloader already..)
3. PC : Run mtty1.42.exe ( Download from XDA's ftp site or search the forums, I'm sure you'll find it.)
4. Choose USB in "Port" (Reconnect if can't find/reconglize USB and try remove sim and sd card)
5.1 Press Enter
5.2 USB> (This will show up)
6. Type: Set 14 0
7. Press Enter
8. Run your rom update again and it should flash this time.
did it start??
did it start?? ?
Hi. first post.
Have an o2 exec. Different brand same deice and none of the other methods worked but finally got it working. Using mtty1.42.exe it would not see usb connection and therefore could not go down that route.
I booted into the bootloader mode that says serial at the top and v1.00 at the bottom.
Connected to the pc and cant remember if i stopped wcescomm.exe or not but you can try both ways.
Then started Midget_1990_v1_0_PU10_WWE.exe rom and followed the instructions and voila.
Hope this helps someone.
"Using mtty1.42.exe it would not see usb connection"
You need to disable the usb connection of active sync under connection settings and then only mtty will pick up a usb connection..

stuck at boot loader -cant connect to pc

Hi,
I tried a new rom and now am stuck at the bootloader with no OS on the phone.
ipl 2.10.0001
spl 2.10.0001
gsm 02.69.21
os 4.0.0.0
I have searched all the forums and still cannot get my spvm600 to do anything. I have tried to run several roms but the problem is they cant see the phone as activesync wont connect. is there a way i can boot from the sdcard or somthing or do i have a expensive paperweight. when i try to hold down the camera and comms keys on start it asks me to format the device and then says doen and goes back to the above screen
anyone?
ideas?
Try to restart your device and deliberatly go to boot loader (keep camera button in) (keep usb disconnected).
once at boot loader screen connect usb cable ... you should now see "usb" in bottom left corner on device screen.
now run a wm5 rom like in step 1 of "how to upgrade from WM5 to WM6" thread - - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=310452.
it worked for me!
every rom i try to install on it needs activesync to connect to it but activesync douesnt connect to it as the phone has been formatted. there must be a way to fix it but but i am totally stuck
Rom Upgrade doesnt need Active Sync, you just need to be in bootloader and have the usb cable connected. Then just go through the update utility.
I try that and it still seems to say no device connected would you like to try copying again. I cant understand it cause it makes that bling noise when i plug it in
Use Update_NOID
You must use the No_ID Updater to upload a ROM from the 3 colour screen. Just run this exe file and you should not have any problems.
Hi,
Please help, I too have the same problem. Installed all the versions but no use. Can any one help me how to downgrade to Original German ROM version for Neo. So that I can return to O2 company... otherwise this become expensive paper weight
thankyouthankyouthankyou
YEEAAAAHHH
my phone is now working.
the no id rom worked a treat.
xtrafletch thanks a million!!

hw6915 Great problem

I have my hw6915 with the screen " Serial HP Invent vG.30". I have tried various fixes for this but dont work. Activesync dont connect, UNI_ExitBootloader say that "Cannot open USB port". If i use hpRUU.exe for flashing the rom it say than can´t connect. I am using windows XP sp3. What might be the problem?
Could be that showing on screen "Serial" the only mode for works is RS232 and no USB?
It should say 'Serial' until you plug it into the USB Cradle, from that moment on it should say 'USB'.
Then again you can use the UNI_ExitBootloader proggy to get ride of this screen.
The problem is that when i plug it into the usb cradle dont change to "USB" it still saying "SERIAL"
Indeed, thats bad.
Maybe reset it and try another Cradle from a friend or so. Else check that the USB port itself is clean from dirt.
If it doesn't work in another USB-Cradle i guess it's broken somehow
Yes, i have test the cradle connector and it have two pins broken, i have used other and it work perfectly, i have used the UNI_ExitBootloader.exe and i have the PDA working again, but the GSM dont work, i have seen the configuration of the GSM and all data is empty, Firmware, IMEI, protocol, etc, i think that Radio ROM is corrupted. I try to update with the new official Update in Spanish, but ther is a failure and the pda be stalled when I reset it back to bootloader. I have try some times and always the same. How can i update the Radio rom my CEOS is in Spanish?. Thanks
