Hi !!
I hv this 02 XDA Atom for the last 3months & honestly am not quite happy with my fone.
For the last 3-4 days, i've been having this strange problem of my fone switching off automatically, even when it has over half of the battery charge left.
Has any1 faced this kind of problem ever ?
Please let me know if any1 has ever faced this problem or if some1 has a resolution for this Problem.
Warm Regards,
Bhaskar

am havin som sort of trouble with my atom.. wen i turn it off by pressin the power button, some time later, i find tht the green led stops blinkin and the orange led is blinkin instead.. (my friends find tht my fone is turned off at this time..) its not lik there a notification in the background.. it blinks shorter than normal.. and wen i press the power button to turn it on, my atom restarts.. this happens quite frequently now.. am on the latest rom 20060426.. anybody else with this prob? anybody kno wat i can do to fix this? thanx in advance..
ps. i've hardreset my atom to see whether any thirdparty app is causin the prob.. this happens even if i dont have anything installed...
have you tried reflashing your atom? try doing that and let's see what happens. goodluck bro
i reflashed it, i hardreset it, but stil it keeps softresetin like that.. am beginin to hate my atom after i said i luv it just a week ago..
Same Problem encountered
Hey
I've got the same problem with my Atom regardless of whichever ROM... And so does my brother's Atom.
It seems that the Atom can't take rough handling and severe vibrations...
I say this because I noticed whenever I do some running when the Atom's in my jeans and especially when I'm riding my bike where my Atom is in the Bike Box, It will almost definitely restart thereafter...
Hope somebody could come up with a solution...
or maybe the ATOM is just a S.N.A.G. (Sensitive New Age Gadget)
Nevertheless, I still love my Atom...
Same problem.
Solution!!! !!! I guess
Hey guys...
I dropped the Atom {again} the other week... And the restarting occurs more frequently...
Found out that the Battery is NOT snuggingly fitted in its place... and I guess the drop made it worse...
What I did was I slip a folded piece of paper (about 1 - 2 mm thick) through the bottom portion of the Battery so that it pushes more tightly towards the connection...
So Now the the Battery is NICE and TIGHT pressing on the connection...
And NO MORE RESTARTS ever since...
I dunno what kindof side effects it has in the long run, but well i prefer the current situation of my phone...
sorry for the long story guys...
Good Luck
yup.. me did the sam thing.. read abt slippin paper frm else where n was waitin to see it happens for a day or two b4 i posted here.. guess the battery is too loose and just as u said, wen it get severe vibrations, the battery also moves and get disconnected frm the contacts, so the phone turns itself off.. gues this is the solution afterall.. 8)
must sue O2 for makin the battery smaller..
Try to clean the battery contacts with some sort of blaze. If they get dirty the phone starts to restart!
Loose battery attachment has been one of the MANY physical problems of HTC units....... SmartPhone (Tanager) was one. I hope HTC Taiwan can address the problem. Paging HTC!!! Your attention, please!
Like what you did on your Atom, i slid a double-sided Scotch mounting tape so to stick the battery on its [battery] bay, the problem of "uncalled-for restarting" was solved.
By the way, my Atom will be arriving next week yet, good thing i know the loose battery mounting prior to its arrival. I might change my mind and advise the supplier to cancel my order (of course, with a total refund of my e-payment)
Good day to all.
Xda Atom ROM Upgrade (CHT) 20060426B1CHT_RS00052 also has so much bugs,,,
hi ... ppl ... well i dnt mess to much wid my PDA but last night it fell from my hand .. well i got it all fixed up but a problem occurs that in the battery section it shows back up battery UNKNOWN ... n the phone gets hard reset each time the battery is out .. well pls let me knw what could be the problem ... Hello Friends,
I have some small problems with my imate jam..its lyk,my phone switches off every five minutes no mater the battery it has..also..i hear to 10 audio every day..and talk about 20 minutes..by this usage, the battery drains out fully..i have doubt that,if i change the battery, will this problem of restarting be resolved?..or is it a internal hardware error?,yes the back panel is intact..and tight.
i figure out that its the battery problem..but i need some help..by the experiences.is this problem due to battery?..because,when connected to pc,it works fine..(hope,there is no hardware fault here)
also,I see that,as the phone drops(once), the phone had a reset..is this normal???
Thanks My friends!!
Sean

cmon man..rather than reading..Why dont you post your experience.
Hi Sean,
Sorry for a slow response, but the rule here is search and then ask!
Anyways, according to your previous posts it seems that there is a problem with your device battery. Consider replacing the battery with a new one. It will hopefully rectify your problem.
Yeah. When a Magician drops, it generally goes to a reset. Thanks to the anti-shock mechanism.
Thanx for the suggesstion, yes im not new to this forum..i searched the forum, but cudnt find a similar post ..(well answered)...and i m realy thankful for your reply..Than ..Sean

hey guys .. this weird problem has developed with my b7610 pro, when i connect my phone to wall charger within 1-2 mins it would show 100% battery and when i remove the charger from the phone , it would come to the normal levels say 15% . phone wont charge even when its turned off .Phone would charge normally through usb ( i think so , though i m not sure). I am really annoyed with this problem . i have done a hard reset but it hadnt solved my problem . I m using daskalos GA rom V3 since last 2-3 months and I never had any problems with phone .. just recently it had cropped up ( since last week) ..
