It is possible to have full support of avrcp on our wm 2003/wm 2005 devices.
Good luck to everybody!!!!!
PS you have to use the wmp plugin adapter on the plugin page on theire site to make it work.

Hi Guys,
Can someone tell me which software allows full screen playback like on my old XDA2s, as they XDA Exec seems small.........
Thx in advance........
Try beta player maybe that will help you do a search for it
Try TCPMP I have not used it yet, still not got my jj yet, but one of the threads "Getting your jj to run better" mentions it as a great replacement for MP. It's free, it supports more formats and plays full screen.

Regards, Simon
I agree with Gooroo,
I have TCPMP installed in my device, it's a fantastic software, far far better than WMP and supports all formats.
It's also 100% compatible with WM5.
Give it a try.
Ill third that! TCPMP is an excellent video player software. Havent found a vid it cant play back yet
Thx guys ill give it a go
Hi all
As above looking to play some divx files is there a player i can use?
Thanks
Robert
same here.. since TCPMP doesn't seem to work with this phone.. very dissapointing.
I was just about to jump in here and recommend TCPMP (worked great on my old pocket pc and my palm). oh well.
If you' re having display problems then this is a well known (and discussed) on this site.
Just search for TCPMP and Trinity.
TCPMP works great, just change the video driver to RAWFramebuffer.

Lovely CorePlayer is my favourite one !
Hi everyone,
could someone tell me if the flash player works on their Athena ?
I am a flash developer and I would like to know if the Athena supports Flash. There are some rumors out there saying it doesn't.
But I can't see why not, since it is a VGA WM5 PPC like another.
I mean the universal in WM5 supports Flash, so why not the Athena.
Below is the link to download the player for WM5 from ADOBE's web site.
http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer_pocketpc/downloads/player.html
Once installed, could you try to go to that page made entirely in flash ?
http://www.imagevector.com/
Tell me if you see the graphics.
Thanks
Does not work with Internet Explorer, need to try it with Opera browser though.
Hey does anybody know how to use the forward and backwards with a bluetooth stereo headset? It works perfectly with WM Player, but CorePlayer give me an EQ and can get way louder than WM Player.
Anybody got any other program I could use then?
I am using POCKET PLAYER (as recommeded in the thread below), it does have full AVRCP - forward/backward (which is a 10 sec bump in the track, not a full track bump) stop/play. Pocket Player does not play AVI video's, so we had to re-convert some stuff. I would also note watching video's using BT was skippy (less skippy than WMP, but skippy enough I wouldn't use it that way).
See this link in another part of Xda:

I was going to try CorePlayer myself, but their website did not say it was AVRCP...so I e-mailed them and here is their response:
"Hello,
Thank you for writing to the CoreCodec Support Group.
Bluetooth has just been added to our last release. It may not support some of the functionality. We are still working on and hope to have all the bugs fixed in a future release!"
Hi all Elf users,
I have bought a Sony DS970 BT Headset and use it with my Elfin. This BTH has play/pause and next/prev buttons in it thru which we can control the player in Elfin. These controls as of now works perfect with HTC Audio Manager and WMP. Prev I was using TCPMP, this doesnt work with my BTH so removed it. As u all know, HTC AM and WMP doesnt produce audio to its fullest ie., no audio enhancements available. So was looking around here and came to know 3 gr8 media players, core, kinoma and pocket.
Tried all these 3 players and none of these support my BTH functions. Does anybody knew anyother gud player which supports AVRCP or how to customize core or pocket or kinoma to accept my BTH functions?
This wuld b of a gr8 help for me.

Core and Kinoma are all proprietary companies, so its pretty hard to keep it working.
You only bet is Windows Media player, you can try writing in to core and see whether how it works.
writing in to core in the sense in their forums? I hv browsed thru their forum and there are numerous unanswered post related to AVRCP.. tht is the reason I posted in XDA.
As of now I am using HTC AM, cos, during playback, I can sense some audio lag in WMP.
No other player supports AVRCP? Wat abt GSPlayer?
Yes, Windows Media Player always lags.
I think HTC AM is the best bet, it runs and works well.
Why you need a new software for managing music?
I am a prev owner of Sony mobiles..also I am bass and loud music freak..in Sony I used to tweak the music files to get gr8 bass..when compare the sound quality wit HTC it is meagre..to be frank, after upgrading my ROM to WM 6.5, the bass puch is gud..but not satisfactory..HTC AM and WMP lack equaliser and audio enhancin options..so looking for a better player..tried SRS, but it screwed my in-call sound..so dnt wnt to try it again.
I know that the Onyx 4.6 and Onyx 5 ROMS have the built in equalizer, its called Audio Boaster and It can be found in the programs menu.
the booster works only with a headset connected to the Elfin physically and not via bluetooth.

Not at all. Kinoma Play's AVRCP support "just works" with phones that use the standard (Microsoft) Bluetooth stack.
If you're feeling adventurous (i.e. be sure to backup before you try), Captain_Throwback posted a standards-compliant replacement for the HTC stack here.

Thanks for the reply.
